Trans women do not have periods.

According to period pants maker Modibodi, transwomen can have 'periods'. Periods which are just as valid apparently.

Whilst I'm not going to suggest I know what hormone treatment tied to a trans woman, I can confidently say that no, they don't have periods. Periods involve blood. Trans women don't bleed.

Modibodi seem to acknowledge that there is no bleeding involved I transwomen's 'periods' but bizarrely under a section on how to manage their periods, trans women should wear period pants. For the life of all God's WHY???! Wtf would wear period pants if they didn't have to?

YANBU

Stayupallnight · 19/12/2023 18:15

I use ModiBodi period pants for my disabled DD but after seeing this nonsense I would like to switch brands!

itsmylife7 · 19/12/2023 18:15

Fetish.
and I assume the company have jumped on the bandwagon ££££

Ilikewinter · 19/12/2023 18:15

Im sorry but I just cant give any head space to this type of shit. Utter bonkers.

KissTheRains · 19/12/2023 18:16

This trans ideological push has been helped by manufacturers and brands that see it as a new pool of customers.

Tampax couldn't sell to men before, now they can.
Couldn't sell period knickers to men before, now they can.

Even Sandwiches, sling a silly logo or ugly flag on and virtue signal whilst flogging tat to make billions for old men.

It's all about the money.

Beat thing you can do, is email them and tell them to shove their period pants up their wombs

SapphireEyes88 · 19/12/2023 18:16

Looking at the actual product, I think it's aimed at trans men who still menstruate, not trans women...

Flickersy · 19/12/2023 18:17

Link, OP?

Fourfurrymonsters · 19/12/2023 18:17

Modibodi have lost the plot. Trans women do not and never can have periods because they do not have a uterus. It’s beyond a joke.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 19/12/2023 18:18

Well from a marketing point of view - that’s pretty brilliant.

women have periods - need their pants
women who say they are men have periods - need their pants
men who say they are women - what the heck, buy their pants.

Absolute facts

susiedaisy1912 · 19/12/2023 18:18

When will this circus ever end 🤦‍♀️

GolfForBrains · 19/12/2023 18:18

Wtf would wear period pants if they didn't have to?

You can Google for the answer, and some pictures, but I would strongly suggest you don't do so on a work computer. Or if you are planning on sleeping anytime soon.

Chersfrozenface · 19/12/2023 18:18

Periods involve the shedding of the lining of the womb. Transwomen, being biologically male, don't have wombs, so cannot have periods

It's not at all complicated.

cadburyegg · 19/12/2023 18:19

Link? The website just says people who menstruate or transgender men, no mention of transwomen

Luxell934 · 19/12/2023 18:19

SapphireEyes88 · 19/12/2023 18:16

Yes. This. Why are people so stupid they don't realise this?

Balloonhearts · 19/12/2023 18:19

What makes me laugh is that if one of these blokes actually HAD a real period where they NEEDED period pants, they'd be crying about how uncomfortable it is and never want another.

Baldieheid · 19/12/2023 18:20

I think it's aimed at trans identified females who still need the products, no? But I have absolutely no doubt that the fetish market will be a happy side bonus for them. No doubt at all. Money talks.

Flickersy · 19/12/2023 18:20

SapphireEyes88 · 19/12/2023 18:18

That just says "by all people who menstruate". So women - some of whom will identify as trans men.

Not trans women.

MargotBamborough · 19/12/2023 18:21

I guess Modibodi have taken the business decision that any extra sales they make as a result of selling period pants to people who don't have periods or to members of Team Pronoun who do have periods and are impressed by this nonsense are likely to outweigh any sales they don't make as a consequence of TERFy types being unimpressed by it.

DrivingonIce · 19/12/2023 18:21

Yup, they've just done some 'boyshort' styles, as far as I can see. So women of any gender and none, but only the one sex.

clearly illustrating the role capitalism has to play in this nonsense

Lilibert456 · 19/12/2023 18:22

Trans women are biologically men. They can have fake boobs and penis's turned into an opening but they are still.men

HoneyButterPopcorn · 19/12/2023 18:22

Can period pants be comfortable on males? I can’t imaging DH cramming himself into mine.

Drunkenblethering · 19/12/2023 18:22

YANBU utterly ridiculous. The world has gone bloody mad.
