The Marks & Spencer’s 12 days of Christmas thing is crap this year

Last year they gave out gin and things this year I got a free Christmas tree bubble and then just loads of money off crap that I don’t want

I got a 30ml autograph aftershave or perfume which was £10 worth and a good stocking filler for free.

Rest has been money off stuff but I got myself some 20% off slippers so 🤷‍♀️

I'm doing quite well this year. Only got free Percy pigs last year which was rubbish.

This time I've had free Colin caterpillar mix, free perfume and used the 20% off slippers, nightwear and jumpers for things on people's Christmas lists.

Can I ask how the sparks card works? I've used it for a 10% off clothes a few months ago when there was a voucher. Otherwise I haven't scanned it as there doesn't seem to be any advantage to scanning. Have a got it right? How do M&S know what you buy or do you scan every time even if you don't get anything?

It’s linked to what you pay and scan, so as I only buy clothes and food, I subsequently get 10 or 20 % off these and often. The only freebie I had with the Sparks card in nine months of having one was a packet of Percy Pigs sweets. It’s not worth bothering with if you’re not a regular M&S customer.

I have money off pjs etc and today a free tin of ground coffee. My nearest is about 15 miles away but will be in town tomorrow anyway so will pop along to see if I can pick up my coffee.☕️

I wonder if new people signing up are getting rubbish and more loyal customers are getting better things. I've just got money off vouchers although a couple might come in handy. Oh and a bag of percy pigs I can't eat. Would have been quite chuffed with an ornament. I'm holding out hope this means we'll get something amazing soon

It doesn't seem to be working like this @easeasilydistracted1 .
Seemingly loyal customers are not really getting much if anything but newer customers are faring better.
This isn't reward for loyalty 😕

I haven’t made it through the whole thread yet so PP may have said, but I couldn’t get to the advent calendar at first, but once I double-tapped on the white ‘open today’s door’ button on the home screen, I could. I haven’t had any freebies yet other than Percy Pigs (gross).

I agree. I had a free room spray - which was unavailable at store. Apart from that I’ve had discounts for crap I don’t need/want.

They may as well rename it

“The 12 days of us shifting a tonne of stock for 10-20% off before we’ll have to sell it for 50% off 2 weeks later”

I’d have been happy with the free room spray too if there had been one available 😏 . I bought the biscuits at discount price ( a present for the dog groomer).

Has the gin made an appearance in the app yet? ( Before I buy it at full price).

I’ve had a free room diffuser and a hand crème. The discounts have been useful and I’ve used them on things I was going to buy anyway, although a bit mistimed as already had my Christmas pjs!

Opened today's door. A free Emma Bridgewater poinsettia. Lovely but doubt my local M&S will have it but they would have a bottle of Prosecco.
I would have been happy with just the ordinary poinsettia as I was thinking of getting one.
Suppose that's it no more free gifts

I have got mostly money off vouchers of stuff that I never buy.

I did get a free 100ml room spray, but my local M&S don't stock it, I would have to travel 20 miles to get it. Been a total waste of time
