The Marks & Spencer’s 12 days of Christmas thing is crap this year

Last year they gave out gin and things this year I got a free Christmas tree bubble and then just loads of money off crap that I don’t want

Two freebie’s to date - hand wash and Christmas cake slices totalling £9 if I were to buy them, the rest useless small discounts. I’m satisfied so far and agree the regular users (possibly who spend a minimum of a certain amount) are being given the freebies.

I'm annoyed!!!! Have spent a small fortune there over the past year. So far one tiny free lip balm. If they gave me a 20% off voucher for the whole store I would have been far more likely to spend 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree. I don’t know what the 12 days of Christmas is but re the Sparks Card, me and DH spend loads in there every week and the ‘benefits’ are rubbish. DD using her Sparks Card for only the second time yesterday got her shop for free!

I forgot to open the first 7 days but hey ho. A pack of free mince pies today and a 10% off flowers and plants yesterday. I’m quite happy they don’t have to do anything.

I didn’t get the gin last year and was devastated - got Percy tree decoration instead…. 🐷

This year I got a free hand cream which I like…. I am holding out for the gin.

We need gin!

How much is everyone spending to be getting these free gifts? I spend roughly £100 a week mainly on food

I wonder if new people signing up are getting rubbish and more loyal customers are getting better things. I've just got money off vouchers although a couple might come in handy. Oh and a bag of percy pigs I can't eat. Would have been quite chuffed with an ornament. I'm holding out hope this means we'll get something amazing soon

Nope. None of the freebies that DH nd I have had have even been in stock in the large stores near me.

As far as I can remember, the gin was on the first day, which really set the whole thing off with a bang, and everyone was talking about it, it didn’t really matter that the rewards got less as the days went on because that was such a fantastic start

Free handwash on 1st, rest has been discounts for PJs, etc. Don't spend much there about £20 per month.

I got a room diffuser but no stock in the only store near me that would have them. Rest have been money off, I’ve only used one of them. Definitely not impressed.

Mine's been great!

I had a free small panettone and hand cream and used 20% off biscuits and 15% off large panettone which I was going to buy anyway so I was really happy 😊

I received a free mini Christmas pantone and hand cream...I need to go to a bigger store to get items if in stock. Picked up pantone. I don't spend lots there. Hoping to get a bottle of drink.

So that blows my theory out of the water as you’ve not got a freebie yet, then again there’s still three days left.

I spend on average £50 a month on their food and clothes.

So far I have had a free pack of Caterpillar chocolate and bean things worth a fiver and a 30ml bottle of perfume worth £6.

Interested why people feel entitled to a whole load of freebies.

I've had perfume and Colin bits, the rest were money off which I've used one of. I'm quite pleased, have had sparks card for years, probably spend about £50 a week on food and about £50 a month on clothes

Mine have been awful too! I've also had a free bag of chocolate coins but the rest are just discounts off stuff I won't be buying.

I got the free Christmas cake slices (£4) and was quite pleased with that! I don't buy an awful lot in M&S and have only recently started using the card (had it for a while but not used it as I'd lost it)

I got a lipsalve… the rest just discounts off slippers, etc.

I spend a lot in M&S - homeware, clothing and groceries… I feel that it’s just not worth opening the doors as I feel annoyed each time! It’s a very lacklustre offering for which we’re supposed to be excited.

it would be fairer if everyone got the same each day.

I agree. I'm still waiting for a freebie, I would even settle for a loaf of bread at this rate 😒. All I've had are discounts of between 10 and 20% off expensive products.

Last year I was offered some freebies amongst the discounts but this looks unlikely to happen this year 😒
