AIBU to be sickened by what Hamas terrorists have done to innocent Israeli citizens?

I am not totally familiar with the whole Israeli - Palestinian situation. I don’t think anything political can explain what has happened over the last few days.

It is utterly horrendous what Hamas has done. I also think that Hamas are no friend to the Palestinians. They are bringing wrath on them.

I have read that this is the worst attack on innocent Jewish people since the holocaust, which is horrifying.

I am struggling to process these recent events.

Hamas tried to negotiate. Says so on Wiki 🤣 Do you know anything about Hamas and their modus operandi? They hate Jews. They want to wipe out Jews. They don't want to negotiate. They want a new holocaust.

The Israelis left Gaza in 2005. There is no occupation. The Palestinians were given everything they said they wanted, except the total annihilation of Israel, and they still voted in Hamas in 2007.

So cry me a river. The Palestinians raise their children to hate. There is no reasoning with that mentality. The Hamas official charter calls for the annihilation of the state of Israel and the genocide of every Jew.

There isn't a country in the world that would or should put up with that. I'm sorry for the very few innocents that are Gaza, and very sorry for the hostages, but the evil pestilence that is Hamas must be wiped from the face of the earth.

I have been thinking about this but to truly understand it you would have to go back decades, even centuries maybe? It's the kind of thing that you would see discussed on International Relations dissertations. Swathes and swathes of information. I can understand why people are trying to educate themselves on here by talking to real people. People were doing the same thing when Russia invaded Ukraine last year.

Hamas quite literally are animals. Actually that’s an insult to animals. I can’t think of a single animal that behaves with such barbarity.

The amount of antisemitism and ignorance on this thread is shocking. If terrorists stormed your homes and beheaded your baby and raped you and murdered your children and husband and then dragged you away, I wonder if you’d be saying ‘it’s okay, due to political reasons outside of my control I probably deserved it.’

Do you know that the exact same thing happens after each jihadist attack in Europe? I've been on those debates many times. The leftist response is always whataboutery, minimization and justification.

I think that you can agree that what Hamas have done in the last few days is unbelievably barbaric, horrific, disgraceful, beyond the pale and more. I think that you can also ask the question if completely obliterating Gaza and all who live there, Hamas or not, or at least aim to, is the right response.

It's an absolutely unbearable and exceptionally complicated situation.

Twice you’ve posted about Israel helping Palestinian civilians, it’s laughable.

Ok. So in the interests of fairness, women also vote in Israel and have therefore voted in a government that oppresses the Palestinians and bombs children.

I still think this is mainly driven by men and their need for power. But women of both sides have some responsibility too, then. An awful situation all round.

It saddens me how people manage to 'other' groups of people who are different to them. They dehumanise them. And both sides have done this.

Everyone has acknowledged that Hamas’ attack was an atrocity, I even voted YANBU. I am now posting about Israel’s recent and current atrocities to show you and others that is not a one-sided affair of good guys vs bad guys. That terrorism is being done by both sides. That it is more complex. If we are to discuss this, there should be balance.

Both sides appear to be killing babies. I literally saw dead babies pulled out of rubble in Palestine today. Other posters have pointed this out to you. Why is it not terrorism when Israel do it?

Israel belonged to the Jews for centuries, way before Islam. It's their land. It's about religion rather than race because you can be Arab and Jewish.

I think it is disgusting that people who are 'pro Palestine' celebrate the fact that hundreds of innocent Israelis were murdered, raped and kidnapped for simply attending a music festival. If you think Palestinians were in the right for doing this then you are sick.

People really need to look at the history of Israel/Palestine before the 20th century. I feel sorry for innocent civilians (Israeli and Palestinian) who want peace.

Israel prevents arms going into Gaza, not that effectively so it seems, given the horror and carnage that Hamas caused at the weekend. And yes, they restrict freedom of movement from Gaza to Israel. It's now obvious why. Stop trying to excuse or justify the unjustifiable.
