To ask what jeans shape is fashionable currently

Not really an AIBU, posting for traffic. Skinny jeans have seemed to be on the out for a while. Is the current fashion straight leg? High rise? Wide leg? What say you, MN?

I’m hoping bootcut make a comeback.

Doggymummar · 01/09/2023 22:21

Love my skinnies

Tinktravels · 01/09/2023 22:21

Mom jeans & straight cut

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 01/09/2023 22:25

There are all types in most high street stores atm. My favourite is high wasted flares. River Island do an amazing pair with a tummy flattering section at the front for £45. They wash really well and are flattering.

doyouwantmorecake · 01/09/2023 22:25

Mum jeans

Devilsmommy · 01/09/2023 22:26

Straight leg high waisted but I still prefer low waist

Zampa · 01/09/2023 22:27

Low rise, wide leg. Think 1990s and you'll be spot on. Must be on the floor (no ankles please).

Please can you link to a pair?

GalGadont · 01/09/2023 22:28

interesting @Devilsmommy @Zampa im guessing you’re from different towns/age groups!

I'm seeing a lot of mom jeans so expect they're on the turn. Dunno what's next.

Like a pp I would love for bootcut to come back but it seems unlikely.

Can you link these please? They sound ideal

squashyhat · 01/09/2023 22:31

Whatever will fit over my fat arse and hopefully make it look not quite so fat.

cheesetriangles · 01/09/2023 22:32

Right! I was just thinking this earlier

ShineBright1209 · 01/09/2023 22:33

I love my skinny jeans but they all seem to be high waisted now and they drive me mad. I never wear what’s in fashion at the time I wear what I feel comfortable in.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 01/09/2023 22:34

I’m not with the times because I like girlfriend jeans.

Ive got some boot cut ones too but not totally convinced by them at the moment

RhymesWithTangerine · 01/09/2023 22:34

I got all ready with the wide 90s jeans (to the floor). But after a lot of fashionable-people watching at the Edinburgh Festival, I’d say we’re still in the time of baggy but rolled up jeans.

The full skater gurl aesthetic is not quite here yet. It’s still more of a Meg Ryan vibe.

Oh but they have

katepilar · 01/09/2023 22:38

Just wear what you like?

MorrisZapp · 01/09/2023 22:40

Rolled up boyfriend/girlfriend for me. Until I can slim back into my skinnies.

Curseofthenation · 01/09/2023 22:40

I see wide leg jeans everywhere. Also, those massive flood jeans! Quite a lot of high-waisted flares too.

I feel like my mum jeans are no longer as current, but I love them 😅.

This. Wide leg, long. H&M are good for jeans.. and im a bit of a clothes snob!

AppropriateAdult · 01/09/2023 22:51

There are honestly loads of styles 'in' at the moment. I've recently bought wide-leg cropped jeans, a straight-leg cropped pair and long flared ones. All fairly high-waisted.

cakecoffeecakecoffee · 01/09/2023 22:54

I've pretty much stuck to boot cut throughout the years as they work best for me. I've got some straight leg ones too but they annoy me as they look more tapered than straight.
