People Using my drive

It's our village fete today, never go because we work Saturday's, I started work first left in my car, DH about 30 mins later in his, leaving one on the drive, got home first to find 3 cars on my drive, one of them I know belongs to a friend, other two do not recognise.

Rang friend to ask if she knew who the others belonged to (as a bit annoyed she had not even asked if she could use my drive for her's ) to be told yes they belong to school mum friends of hers and she knew we would be at work so did not see a problem telling them to park there.

Pointed out I only just managed to get on my own drive and DH will be home shortly and will need to park on the drive as the whole village is rammed with cars, to be told they will be gone by 6pm as just about to have food and a drink, asked for at least one to be moved to park on our own drive, to be told I am unreasonable and ruining it for them.

Very tempted to block one in and refuse to move until the morning because I am shattered, had a stupuidly busy day and just want to chill in my PJ's with food and a glass off wine

Tell them to get back within ten minutes and move the cars or they will be blocked in until Monday.

Cheeky fuckers

LucifersPain · 19/08/2023 17:02

The least I would do is egg them. Superglue in the car locks is good too.

towriteyoumustlive · 19/08/2023 17:02

I'd block them in, then go down your local pub for a nice bottle of wine. Make sure it's a pub with no phone signal, and make sure you stay there until it closes!

I'd be furious! How rude!!! We occasionally let the neighbours use our driveway but they always ask first!

BreehyHinnyBrinnyHoohyHah · 19/08/2023 17:04

Block them in. Disconnect your doorbell. Close all the curtains. Phone on silent.

meercat23 · 19/08/2023 17:04

Surely the appropriate response to your message would have been, 'I am so sorry, I should have asked. We were just going to eat would it be OK to come straight after that please? ' You might still have said no but at least they wouldn't have come across as so cheeky and rude.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 19/08/2023 17:05

And now she is an ex friend. One less for the Xmas list.

isthatmyage · 19/08/2023 17:05

Wow OP outstanding from your, errr, friend.....block, don't answer the door and just say sorry we are out if contacted. Good luck!

charabang · 19/08/2023 17:05

Block them in and go to bed with a migraine. The cheeky gets!

Are you 13?

WhamBamThankU · 19/08/2023 17:05

Outstanding cheeky fuckery from them all!

gamerchick · 19/08/2023 17:08

Tell her you're blocking the cars in and they either come immediately or they can come back tomorrow as you're having a few beers.

ThePoshUns · 19/08/2023 17:08

CFers! I'd block them in and both of you go for a very long walk to another pub. Then ignore any calls from them. Unbelievable!

LtdEdition01 · 19/08/2023 17:10

Please let us know how it all goes, I cannot believe the nerve of some people!

IAmAnIdiot123 · 19/08/2023 17:11

How do you go about getting cars towed? 🤔

TogetherInEclecticDreams · 19/08/2023 17:12

Yeh, you've both had a drink so can't drive. They won't do it again.

Thewizardbinbag · 19/08/2023 17:13

Your friend sounds like a bit of a dick. The can’t imagine any of my friends telling me I was being unreasonable if they’d behaved that way. Maybe ditch this one.

CantThinkOfANameAtAll · 19/08/2023 17:14

Good for your DH. Dont answer the door later. In fact close all curtains, lock the garden gate and have a pizza picnic in bed 😂

PigginTeaBreak · 19/08/2023 17:16

Block them in!!

PigginTeaBreak · 19/08/2023 17:17

PigginTeaBreak · 19/08/2023 17:16

Block them in!!

Just seen update. Well done DH 👍🏻

MrTiddlesTheCat · 19/08/2023 17:19

Your friend is an A* cheeky fucker. I hope she's blocked in now.

quicklybeendrivenmad · 19/08/2023 17:21

They are blocked in and said friend has really pissed me off recently she asked one of my others friend to do some work for her towards her divorce which was done at mates rates (practically free which would have been over £2k) and now not proceeding and is expecting my other friend not to charge her so not actually spoke to her for at least 4 months this is the final straw

Cheeky bastards

Womblegreen · 19/08/2023 17:22

I’d send a message saying the cars need to be moved now, you will be opening a bottle in 5 minutes at which time the cars will be blocked in until after your lie in tomorrow.

PigginTeaBreak · 19/08/2023 17:22

@quicklybeendrivenmad when do you think CF friend is due back? Please update 😆

Andthereyougo · 19/08/2023 17:23

Block them in, £30 each to let them out.
