How much domino's pizza can you eat?

We are just about to do an order and it's dawned on me it's costing nearly £50.00 😨

Me and my Husband can pretty much eat a large pizza each. We have three children so we are ordering three large and one medium, totalling a whopping £48.98. Surely this is ridiculous for four pizzas. ?! This includes the 50% off too 🙈

Seriously, a large each, unless drunk, is far too much

For you, maybe.

CurlewKate · 15/08/2023 17:29

@OnionBhajis I could tell you how to make amazing onion bhajis too!!

almostoverthehill · 15/08/2023 17:30

Overpriced and the sauce is too sweet. Give me a Dr Oetker Ristorante either the mozzarella or mushroom and only usually about £3. Much nicer in my opinion.

XenophobicPooTroll · 15/08/2023 17:30

Competitive pizza undereating. Only on MN. I want some pizza now. I wish Aldi still did American Hot.

ISeeMisledPeople · 15/08/2023 17:31

I don't really understand why people willingly spend a fortune on pizza. It's ok, but pretty much every other takeaway option is better.

Having said that, I do occasionally get a pizza slice from a local place - it's quarter of a large pizza and it costs £2. So it's a fairly cheap way to grab something quick after a night out.

AngeloMysterioso · 15/08/2023 17:31

None, because Domino’s pizzas are shit.

Pizza Gogo on the other hand, has never let us down… far tastier and better value. DH and I will usually order a large pizza and a side each (comes to £20something) and eat it over two meals.

OnionBhajis · 15/08/2023 17:31

Um yes please 😁. Oh I want some now!

And pizza dough.....

(I'm fairly basic in what I can do but I cna follow instructions!)

OnionBhajis · 15/08/2023 17:31

That was for @CurlewKate

Who are you, the Pizza Police? People can eat what they like.

Me and DP would order a large pizza each. We both usually leave a slice or two for the next day, but we certainly could eat the whole thing in one go if we wanted to.

OP, I agree that they’re ridiculously overpriced. Domino’s is a rare order for us, usually only when we get home very late from a long journey, or for some reason when there’s a really long event on the telly (Olympic opening ceremony, Eurovision, general election night, that kind of thing).

We never get sides or anything because they always look a bit shit.

MrsMarzetti · 15/08/2023 17:33

£50 on pizza ! That is an absurd amount of money for not a lot.

Purplepeopleeaterz · 15/08/2023 17:34

3 slices of a deep pan but that’s because I’m saving room for dessert! And cheese sets off my acid reflux 😡

MisschiefMaker · 15/08/2023 17:35

Hm that's a lot of money to spend on pizza! could you order a salad instead?

FloopyZebra · 15/08/2023 17:35

I could probably eat half a large pizza if really hungry, but I don't like takeaway pizza... Greasy stodge that costs a fortune!!!
I make great pizza, it's so cheap.... but I love cooking. It would kill me to spend £50 on pizza😱

Agree I can get a weeks shopping for that lol

TaiDee · 15/08/2023 17:35

Dominoes is absolutely a guilty pleasure. Usually get a large and have it over 2-3
sittings, usually with a side for the first.

maddiemookins16mum · 15/08/2023 17:36

When DH, me and DD order, we get two large. Usually a few slices left over for breakfast.

Notcontent · 15/08/2023 17:37

I can’t eat domino’s as the high salt, sugar and fat content makes me ill. We buy bases and make our own - so quick, cheap and delicious - you can use much better quality ingredients for a fraction of the price.

BelleShazzasFeast · 15/08/2023 17:38

To answer your specific question, OP: two slices of a large margherita. The (student) DC can both eat a large one each, so I have one slice of each of theirs.

Illbebythesea · 15/08/2023 17:38

I like dominos but the next day my stomach is in bits! It’s just not worth it (often.) But I do get a hankering sometimes & could do a large if I hadn’t eaten all day. Otherwise I’d eat half.

DeepfriedPizza · 15/08/2023 17:43

A guy that I work with gets 2 for Tuesday (large) at dominoes and eats them both. It's to be admired how he does it. 21 years old and very active though.

I could do half a large with some chicken strips. Yum

MrsF111 · 15/08/2023 17:43

Always order a large but it normally does dinner (2/3) and lunch (1/3) unless I’m hungover then it all goes!

anonymousxoxo · 15/08/2023 17:44

2 slices, max 3. Otherwise I feel sick

kelsaycobbles · 15/08/2023 17:46

GoodChat · 15/08/2023 17:10

Why are people quoting calories when they talk about pizza size?

I don't care what calories are in it. I care whether it'll fill me up Grin

Because if you need to eat that many calories in one meal to be full up you probably don't have the best relationship with food, unless you are a Tour de France rider

Bonfire23 · 15/08/2023 17:47

Depends what I've done that day
90 min spin class and I'll eat a large one no issue
Other day I manage half and save the rest for lunch the next day

boobot1 · 15/08/2023 17:47

calmcoco · 15/08/2023 16:26

Quite.

2000+ calories of ultra-processed shite is really unhealthy binge eating with masses of salt, sugar, chemicals and saturated fat.

There's a healthy middle ground between two lettuce leaves and a large takeaway pizza.

Many of the large thin and crispy pizzas are under 1000 calories
