How much domino's pizza can you eat?

TulipVictory · 15/08/2023 15:48

We are just about to do an order and it's dawned on me it's costing nearly £50.00 😨

Me and my Husband can pretty much eat a large pizza each. We have three children so we are ordering three large and one medium, totalling a whopping £48.98. Surely this is ridiculous for four pizzas. ?! This includes the 50% off too 🙈

I could definitely not eat a large. I normally have 3-4 peices. I could probably eat more at a push, but tend not too as it makes me feel sick to eat too much dominos.

Twentypastfour · 15/08/2023 17:48

Very close to ordering a Domino’s now…

I can eat maybe 70-80% of a large (stuffed crust, naturally) myself and I do not consider myself to have a large appetite at ALL. A large each isn’t that crazy.

absentseizure · 15/08/2023 17:49

I did a McDonalds order for the kids having sleepover with friends and it cost me £40 for 4 of them. And they ate all of it.

I think I'm stuck in the 80s because it never stops shocking me when I see how much they want for fast food now

I couldn't bring myself to buy a pizza. They are so RIDICULOUSLY cheap and easy to make!

Are they though? We make pizza sometimes (and yes, maybe arguably it’s nicer) but the dough has to go into the fridge for hours.. so it’s not something you can ever make spontaneously when you fancy a pizza.

There's about 2500 kcals in a large pizza. That's quite a lot to eat in one sitting no matter which way you turn it.

Titchyfeep · 15/08/2023 17:50

That sounds like a lot of pizza for the number of people but the price sounds about right. I also have 3 kids and we often have a few other family members over for pizza. There tends to be 10 of us (6 adults, 1 teenager, 2 kids, 1 toddler) we get 4 large pizzas and a few sides and there is always plenty for everyone. I wouldn’t eat more than half a large pizza.

TimeToMoveIt · 15/08/2023 17:52

Most of a medium and some chicken strips with honey and mustard dip 😋

Toottooot · 15/08/2023 17:53

panko · 15/08/2023 16:00

Seriously, a large each, unless drunk, is far too much

Naw, it’s really no 💁🏻‍♀️

calmcoco · 15/08/2023 17:53

boobot1 · 15/08/2023 17:47

Many of the large thin and crispy pizzas are under 1000 calories

Yes, but the ones under discussion on this thread are mostly the higher calorie type.

Every menu has some lighter options. They sell far fewer of those.

Budikka · 15/08/2023 17:54

Goodness! If I ate more than one slice, I would have to get my stomach pumped and would be literally unable to think about food until 2025...

Chocolatepeanutbuttercupsandicecream · 15/08/2023 17:54

Probably half a large? We usually get one of the pizzas plus sides deals though. Teen ds could probably eat a whole large given the chance..

Janiie · 15/08/2023 17:55

'Who are you, the Pizza Police? People can eat what they like.'

They can yes but the op is literally asking people how much they eat!

That is a massive amount for a family of 5 op, seeing as you asked.

mumofteenss · 15/08/2023 17:55

Well after googling i stand corrected.

We were having chippy for tea tonight as 2 of my kids are away for the next 6 nights and we were having a movie and chill night.

But. 2 large pan half and half so we all get the topping we like pizzas hut pizzas for £21 which is cheaper than the chippy have been ordered for later.

Much better food option for a movie night! And not had it in atleast a year! Cant wait.

Thanks OP

Yes you definitely shouldn’t eat a whole pizza but is it fairly easy for most people to do? That’s what I mean.
I would really struggle to eat an average sized potion of a roast dinner, for instance and I probably eat a third of a large portion of chip shop chips. Domio’s goes down far too easily though. I used to order it regularly with friends when we were younger and it was generally one pizza per person.

What shocked me actually is the calories in the dip they give you.

I wouldnt' think it was easy. I can't manage more than 5/6 peices without feeling really stuffed. I definitely couldn't do a whole. And I have a pretty good appateite generally.

Unless of course you are one of those people who has a few bites and leaves the "crust" (along with about 3 inches of pizza)

Isnt a Christmas dinner like 3500 on average or something stupid? A large meal of high calories every now and again isnt going to be a problem for most people. Consistently, every day, yeah. But a few times a year?^

CurlewKate · 15/08/2023 18:00

"Are they though? We make pizza sometimes (and yes, maybe arguably it’s nicer) but the dough has to go into the fridge for hours.. so it’s not something you can ever make spontaneously when you fancy a pizza"
It doesn't have to go in the fridge. It can, which is great if you're super organised and get it in the fridge before you go to work, but I reckon I can get pizza on the table from scratch in maybe an hour and a half? How long does a delivery take round your way?

Cosycover · 15/08/2023 18:01

We get a medium each with wedges and chicken and sometimes garlic bread. I usually have a few slices left but I eat them later that same night.

We only do collection deals from Dominos now. Would never pay the full price.

GoodChat · 15/08/2023 18:02

@kelsaycobbles calorific content doesn't equal how substantial food it.

If you ate 3 bananas you'd probably feel full for a while. 300 calories.

XenophobicPooTroll · 15/08/2023 17:30

Competitive pizza undereating. Only on MN. I want some pizza now. I wish Aldi still did American Hot.

Well given that an entire Aldi American hot is 750 calories and some of the large Domino's are almost 3,000 calories, you're talking about only eating a quarter as much yourself.

Unless you're going to reply that you'd neck 4 of them in one sitting.

🙄

randomchap · 15/08/2023 18:04

Inspired by this thread, we're getting pizza tonight.

I wonder if someone from Dominos started the thread as stealth advertising

Vegi Volcano for me, DC are sharing a Hawaiian

Cookies for dessert.

kelsaycobbles · 15/08/2023 18:04

Dough can be ok with just half hour proving - doesn't have to be in fridge for hours

It can be frozen also

isitshe · 15/08/2023 18:04

How much domino's pizza can you eat?

None. Because I wouldn't pay their extortionate prices.
I use a local pizza place, their pizza is great & they have really good meal deals.

Oh, and I could absolutely eat most of a large pizza from there or else have a cold leftover pizza breakfast straight from the fridge the next day.

PaperLanterns · 15/08/2023 18:05

we go to Pizza Hut when the dirty pizza calling comes. We share a large pizza, get a tear and share and some chicken.

Then we get the shits the next day and promise we won’t have it again. Until the next time.

Summerrainagain1 · 15/08/2023 18:07

I can't believe that stating that not everyone can pack away a 3000 kcal pizza "easily" is being called competitive undereating.
