How much domino's pizza can you eat?

We are just about to do an order and it's dawned on me it's costing nearly £50.00 😨

Me and my Husband can pretty much eat a large pizza each. We have three children so we are ordering three large and one medium, totalling a whopping £48.98. Surely this is ridiculous for four pizzas. ?! This includes the 50% off too 🙈

Polished off a medium today (7 months preggo tho!).
My local charges 7.99 for collection for a medium.

Worri3d · 15/08/2023 18:09

I am overweight and definitely overeat but there's no way I can eat a whole pizza to myself especially dominos for some reason lol. My DP and DS can though so when we order it's a £40 order at least for the 3 of us as its a large pizza each for them then I steal a slice from each of them and have a side to myself. I do make DS split half with me sometimes as I just can't afford to buy 3 pizzas and sides but don't see why I should always miss out when 99% of the time I pay for it! I miss when DS was 8 and ate less than half 🙃

I can't believe that stating that not everyone can pack away a 3000 kcal pizza "easily" is being called competitive undereating.

But lots on thin and crispy are less than 1000

Proudgypsy · 15/08/2023 18:10

I'm sorry but nobody needs to eat a large dominoes pizza to themselves, that's ridiculous. It's more than one whole days calories in one sitting.

I honestly am not being a competitive under eater as I know that's common on here but that size is made to share or at least have leftovers.

Spendonsend · 15/08/2023 18:10

Dr oetker optimistically suggests one of their 10 inch pizzas serve two. Its around 750 calories. Its £2 though.

Mushroo · 15/08/2023 18:11

I’ve caved and ordered a dominoes

Nobody "needs" to eat a lot of things. Doesn't mean they don't occasionally do it. I've been out for meals before where the calories listed on the menu for some of the main courses are over the recommended daily amount - an occasional treat is fine, only problematic if you're having it all the time...

I couldn't bring myself to buy a pizza. They are so RIDICULOUSLY cheap and easy to make!

My favourite pizza is a supermarket one. It costs £4. No way would I want to faff about with homemade pizza dough and all the other ingredients that I don't typically have in (goat's cheese, caramelised red onion, crumbly walnut pieces) when I can bung one of those in the oven straight from the freezer.

HurdyGurdy19 · 15/08/2023 18:15

We do Topps Pizza, rather than Domino's but it's more or less the same.

We get the "Two of Us" deal with two medium pizzas, two sides (usually onion rings and potato skins) and a bottle of drink. I think that's about £28.

DH will eat 2 slices (which always shocks me, as he has a big appetite and I'd expect him to eat more) with some of the sides.

I'm a self-confessed greedy pig and will have at least 3 or 4 slices and a couple of onion rings.

Son will take the pizza leftovers for his lunch the next day.

Are they though? We make pizza sometimes (and yes, maybe arguably it’s nicer) but the dough has to go into the fridge for hours.. so it’s not something you can ever make spontaneously when you fancy a pizza.

We use this recipe - no putting the dough in the fridge for hours. Always comes out delicious.

LaMadameCholet · 15/08/2023 18:16

I normally order 4 large for myself, DH, DS 24 no DS 17. We normally have quite a bit left over for the next day. I can eat 3 maybe 4 slices, but DH and both DSs have very physical jobs so can eat a lot.

The 50% off thing is totally imaginary/ magical thinking, bit like the DFS sale. As if anyone would ever pay full price!

BlackForestCake · 15/08/2023 18:17

If you have a garden and you’re spending £50 on pizza once a month, you could get one of those super fast pizza ovens and it would pay for itself within a year.

JorisBonson · 15/08/2023 18:18

I walk past a dominos and that's me full for a week.

Bbq1 · 15/08/2023 18:18

Can eat most of a small but no, couldn't eat any bigger. Dh gets medium, ds andvi a smsll each. Sometimes we get gb and dough balls. We love Domino's but it is v expensive even with deals.

riceuten · 15/08/2023 18:19

I can eat about half a large one (and save the remains for the next day)

I'm only here for comments like this - I love MN sense of humour sometimes 😅😅😅😅

mimiku · 15/08/2023 18:21

Varies, my average is 4 or 5 slices. Sometimes it’s less, sometimes it’s more. I tend to pick at the sides as well though!

MissHoollie · 15/08/2023 18:21

Love reading the " Mumsnet chicken scenario"

So funny
My answer is half a large each as I like it the next day!

CaramelMac · 15/08/2023 18:23

Last time my mum was visiting she balked at the price of Domino’s and bought two frozen pizzas from the Co-op instead, they were manky. Dominos is worth every penny in my opinion.

crackersforcrackers · 15/08/2023 18:28

Could probably eat a whole large but my usual order is to smash through a whole medium and then all 4 cookies and maybe a handful of chicken nuggets.

Yup. Most frozen pizzas are appallingly shit. Lightly-cheesed cardboard.

WhichEllie · 15/08/2023 18:34

This thread is hilarious. None of the undereaters have shown up thus far, but we have something else. We have…

Competitive OVEReaters!

One can eat a whole large plus breadsticks. One can eat a large plus multiple sides AND dessert. One can eat TWO larges and a side! And anyone that eats less has “issues with food.”

Eagerly awaiting the poster that can eat THREE large pizzas AND a whole Mumsnet chicken. 😂

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 15/08/2023 18:35

I'm definitely more of an overeater than undereater but there's no chance I could finish a large Domino's pizza on my own.

I can eat a full small pizza thin crust but there's no way I could eat more in any one setting.

I thought I was pushing it by order small rather than personal.

Cakesandbabes · 15/08/2023 18:37

I realised on few previous yhreads about portion aizes of certain itema that people who say "I couldn't eat that" often couldn't because they have sides.
"I couldn't eat 300g steak😱 I eat 180gmax" yeah but with more sides than the large steak persom. This was especially shown on previous takeaway and pizza threads.
"1 curry does me two portions😱couldn't eat ot whole" because of 2 poppadoma, samosa and rice AND naan.

So often it's not a teenyiny Olympics but otally disregarding that sides exist and some people have them and some don't.

Cakesandbabes · 15/08/2023 18:39

And same goes over eater olympics. Ignoring others have sided
