How much domino's pizza can you eat?

We are just about to do an order and it's dawned on me it's costing nearly £50.00 😨

Me and my Husband can pretty much eat a large pizza each. We have three children so we are ordering three large and one medium, totalling a whopping £48.98. Surely this is ridiculous for four pizzas. ?! This includes the 50% off too 🙈

Hold on, how large is a Dominos large?

Blueuggboots · 15/08/2023 16:01

Costco pizzas are £10 each and about three times the size of domino's. Much better value IMO.

NotAMug · 15/08/2023 16:01

We usually spend about £50 for 4 of us, all adult size people. We don't have a large pizza each. Usually kids have a small pizza and a side, we share a medium and a sharer side. May have cookies also. It's cheaper to get just pizzas rather than the side bits but we like the variety.

Poppasocks · 15/08/2023 16:01

I can eat either a whole medium or half a medium and 1-2 sides

Rarely get it now though because it passes straight through me in 15 mins...

TheGirlFromTomorrow · 15/08/2023 16:02

It would vary, but I couldn't eat a whole large pizza. I'd probably manage between a quarter and a half before my stomach wouldn't take any more.

It sounds about right to me for that much pizza from Dominoes. My older son and I would normally have a large pizza between us, a bottle of pop, and I get a few strips and dips with it and that's about £25.

Mushroo · 15/08/2023 16:02

I’m impressed you can eat a large!

Me and Dh would either get 2 mediums and there would definitely be leftovers, or 1 large plus sides.

Spendonsend · 15/08/2023 16:03

I checked the app and our deal is now £29 to feed 4 with 2 pizza with 2 sides, turned out to be mediums. It was 33 for larges.

NoChanceYouMetalBastard · 15/08/2023 16:03

Large, thin-crust, no bother.

isthismylifenow · 15/08/2023 16:04

I only ever order a large size pizza, as it's most cost effective. If you don't eat it all at once, it's still going to get eaten anyway at the next meal, or a few hours later in our case.

But I would struggle with a Domino's. If they are anything like chain we used to have here (they closed down now, I'm not shocked), then two slices max. As they all base and hardly any toppings.

(just checking these are the ones that go through the electric oven on a conveyor for about 5 mins).

But 50 pounds is a ridiculous price, yes.

Thin crusts dont count Grin

KinooOrKinog · 15/08/2023 16:04

Jfc, is a large not meant for four people? Of course it's expensive if you're ordering enough for 12-14 people!

Spendonsend · 15/08/2023 16:05

GoodChat · 15/08/2023 16:01

13.5 inches

Yeah that's how they get you! Up selling bits that are overpriced extras. But I get sick of just pizza and I like dips so them's the breaks.

eniledam · 15/08/2023 16:05

Yep, I can eat a large pizza (if I'm feeling particularly hungry). And half the cookies.

LadyDanburysHat · 15/08/2023 16:05

Do you not have a local independent takeaway where you can get pizza? Ours would be way cheaper than Dominoes.

GoodChat · 15/08/2023 16:05

Thanks @Spendonsend. In that case, there'd be no breakfast leftovers 🤣

NoChanceYouMetalBastard · 15/08/2023 16:06

Thin crusts dont count

I'll have some garlic bread as well next time Grin

jlpth · 15/08/2023 16:06

My very hungry 17yo big tall boy could eat a large dominoes but would feel stuffed afterwards.

A large pizza from dominoes is supposed to feed 2 hungry people (or 4 lighter eaters).

Have you never been hungover? Basilico isn't curing a hangover.

Bonfire23 · 15/08/2023 16:06

It's 2 for Tuesday so you're better off doing 2 large and 2 medium or 4 large

Our local independent (better than Dominos!) does two 16" for £32

Laiste · 15/08/2023 16:07

We only do it if there's a BOGOF deal. It is way overpriced for what you get but sometimes we just fancy one ....

Ours goes through phases of being good and then you'll get a horrible greasy one with hardly any topping and we'll hear others are finding the same and everyone boycotts it for a while. Till the word goes out it's got better 😄

Personally, if i don't eat the crusts i can eat nearly a whole large one. Maybe not the last 1 or 2 slices.

KateJohns · 15/08/2023 16:07

Have a Caprinos .

If there's one near you.
Download their app and it's 2 for Tuesday, buy one, get one free and they're better than Dominoes. Tastier and fresher imo

I have, in the past, eaten a whole 15" to myself

These days I have a medium and some fries.

SometimesNine · 15/08/2023 16:07

We usually order one medium for DH and a large one for my younger DS and me to share. Older DS doesn't eat pizza.

PuttingDownRoots · 15/08/2023 16:07

A large is 13.5inches (10 slices)
Medium is 11.5inches (8 slices)

A large pepperoni is 2500calories
