Mother of Star Hobson does not deserve sympathy

Am I being unreasonable to be absolutely sickened by this article? I get that this man is traumatised by what happened to his family, but how could anyone be so blinded as to see Star's mother as some sort of innocent victim? She was a cruel and neglectful mother who was too infatuated with her new partner to protect her baby daughter. Yes, I know she has a low IQ and learning difficulties. However, to use this as a constant excuse is an absolute insult to the many, many people in this country with learning difficulties (many of whom are parents) who would never, ever think it is acceptable to stand by and watch whilst their child is horrifically abused.

I don’t believe a word of what that family says. My gut feeling is that Frankie was totally unsupported, her disabilities disregarded, and nobody really gave a damned about Star until after she died. If all these people truly alerted social services multiple times there would have been involvement.

Go and find the court transcripts. There’s documented evidence of all the reports. Following one Frankie had to take her to hospital to be checked by a peadiatrican but they found no evidence. It was clear they tried to avoid SS too, preventing them coming round etc. SS definitely failed this child

I watched something earlier on Frankie Smith just to try and understand why some have sympathy for her. It angered me so much.. Holding her baby's head under water, bending her fingers back, forcing her to stay awake all night then hitting and filming her for being tired, making her crawl upstairs with a broken leg. Texts to her girlfriend asking how to hide bruises from social services. Absolutely disgusting piece of shit. She knew what her vile girlfriend was doing and she joined in and egged on. She's not a victim and Star would be alive today if she'd picked up the phone and asked her many family members and friends to come and take her baby. Selfish evil bitch.

Frankie Smith's step sister Alicia was in tears because she tried so hard to alert social services to Star's treatment and she now says that she refuses to speak to her despite being best friends before.
The male family member that used to look after Star with what I believe to be with his partner said that Frankie has admitted to being cruel to the baby but never hurt her, but Alicia says she witnessed Frankie slapping her in the face. Vile.

Frankie definitely was an awful parent and cruel too. She didn't hold Star under water though, according to the trial - again, this was Savannah. Her sisters witnessed F slapping Star and verbally abusing her. Like I said, she never should have been allowed to keep her.

You have absolutely no.idea! The family did everything they could there is proof of all the social services reports! You have never met stars family, they DO NOT deserve to be bashed like that over the Internet. Anita is broken and a shell.of the person she was. @Wenfy there was involvement. Several times. This is a matter of record and the timeline, concerns raised and action taken can easily be found online.

@Wenfy it’s true there wasn’t support given from the start (which it should have been), but factually incorrect social services weren’t alerted on multiple occasions of the abuse. Star even had a formal medical examination and the findings were recorded as accidental.

I don’t know how the injuries were justified as accidental even though there is an attempt to justify it by location of the bruising.

The families concerns were dismissed as malicious, as it is documented in the official report.

I'm not too far from Wakefield and so glad that that nonce has gone. He was such a danger, obviously he was very mentally ill/had LD but that doesn't negate how much of a danger he potentially was to young girls.

I followed the case of little Arthur. It was on Birmingham live website iirc. Not sure if it's still available. Very detailed and upsetting though.
