Look at the speakers;

How can anybody who has studied any history whatsoever vote for this?

Are living in some kind of shit, TV movie about the fall of the UK?

This trans shitshow happened under the Tory government. The destruction of women's rights happened under their eye.

And they haven't finished yet.

Noicant · 16/05/2023 18:47

DuncinToffee · 16/05/2023 18:00

Miriam Cates, Danny Kruger, Jacob Rees Mogg, Michael Gove, Suella Braverman are all Tory MP's

Thats 5 out of 355 hardly a tidal wave is it.

🤣

Stop being hysterical

🙄

I don’t think it’s hysterical. I mean I don’t think it will happen but I do think these people share the worldview of the Christian right in the US in most respects and “pro life” is a very live preoccupation. A lot of what’s on this manifesto (minus the commitment to racial tolerance) is indistinguishable from what the Christian right wants.

One of them is the current UK Home Secretary

sadsack78 · 16/05/2023 19:00

Well, I have spent years looking at the roster of goons in power asking 'how in god's name is anyone voting for THIS? and, well.....here we are! 😆

Twinpeaches · 16/05/2023 19:03

Well this thread is terrifyingly eye opening. The fact that a conference of this type is getting senior government endorsement, and being covered in this way in the UK really shows how far we’ve sunk. Terrifying that so many can’t or won’t see it.

Your last point scares the shit out of me.

This has been a long time coming and it isn't going to go away by itself. Anyone who thinks it's just a bit of fringe nonsense and not worth worrying about needs to wake up imo.

Which specific policies are you scared of happening?

I’m seeing a lot of vague idea of fear but trying to get what it is you think will be brought into action

More Tory incompetence, corruption and contempt for the women in this country fucking up our lives. I thought they'd peaked, but clearly not.

dontlookbackyourenotgoingthatway · 16/05/2023 19:14

@SunnyEgg

Read their statement of principles.

If you're not in a Christian, traditional, heterosexual, nuclear family unit, you're fucked.

That's just for starters.

I’m more after specific policies that the op and others are frightened by.

I did hear one quote from the conference regarding 100% of women don’t have penises

I get people don’t want the rest but oddly this conference states it pretty clearly

Tories might be slow at adapting to public will on this but Labour don’t even want women to discuss it.

At least discuss it. Let people reject or not through votes. The shut down in Wales the other day was worse. Women need to be able to ask questions and get the response at least.

You don't think the Home Secretary using far right rhetoric is anything to worry about?

This trans shitshow happened under the Tory government. The destruction of women's rights happened under their eye.

And now the Tories are rowing back on the trans shitshow whereas Labour are saying the Tories haven't gone far enough and are planning to legislate women out of existence altogether.

I mean atm they’re struggling to get less extreme stuff through

Why is Rishi Sunak not legislating to protect women's sex based rights and single spaces?

Is it
A He can't get enough votes from his Conservative Party to get it through?
B So he can use women's sex based rights in a Culture War for the next election?
C Jamie Wallis is growing his hair and Rishi doesn't want to spoil his big day?
D He and his party don't give a shit about UK women?

Rowing back my arse. Talking shite more like.🙄

Thebestwaytoscareatory · 16/05/2023 19:32

Thriwit · 16/05/2023 18:10

Their principles don’t even follow logically. They think every country should be individualistic; have its own identity etc. But they don’t want immigration. Surely if you’re going for individualistic countries, it makes more sense to allow people to migrate to countries that more closely align with their personal beliefs?

Nah, dissenters can just be sent for re-education or, if that fails, the will make excellent compost. Isn't that the modus operandi of fascism? Suppression, oppression, and persecution. The holy trinity of the right wing.

TooBigForMyBoots · 16/05/2023 19:33

MargotBamborough · 16/05/2023 19:21

No, it's Tory Party Culture and infects every policy they make.

newnamethanks · 16/05/2023 19:35

It may not be specific policy but it sure as hell is their practice. I've had more than enough of it and, hopefully, so has the electorate.

If Tories lose to Labour or possibly with Lib Dems in coalition, do you think they’ll be better on the issue?

Sausagenbacon · 16/05/2023 19:38

Frankly, the OP sounds deranged.
Is this level of discourse supposed to convince readers to vote Labour (who are about as an attractive proposition as a cup of cold sick)

The Conservatives are going to lose the next election, despite their attempts to rig the vote. Why don't they fix it before they go?

Could you answer my question

Do you think Labour maybe with Lib Dems will be better on GC policies?
