Mine is that Derren Brown’s dad was my swimming teacher when I was in primary school.

I was in the top set too, only time I’ve ever been any good at a sport!

Whats yours?

My best friend's husband is a Pulitzer prize winner. The general public have no idea who he is as he is a journalist and not the writer of a famous book.

teaandtoastplease · 27/04/2023 01:36

My husband almost ran Robson green in a service station carpark 🤣

UnctuousUnicorns · 27/04/2023 01:37

I was in the same form at school as the sports presenter Sally Nugent, which will probably only mean anything to you if you follow sport, which I don't.

Hawkins003 · 27/04/2023 01:38

Not sure but I think there's more to me than I realise

RedisthenewGold · 27/04/2023 01:44

I was 7 when I walked behind Brian Blessed being filmed. It was on the telly and everything.

The same year my photo was on the front page of the local paper. I was in full Brownie uniform.

Age 7 was my most famous year.

UnctuousUnicorns · 27/04/2023 01:49

Oh, and I sat on the stage, with about six to eight other women, near Will when Echo And The Bunnymen were filming their Live In Liverpool DVD. You can see me in silhouette for a few seconds, then the editing team superimposed a load of footage of the Mersey etc. to cover up all us stage invaders. 😅

I’m an award winning true crime podcaster

PaperwhiteTheGhost · 27/04/2023 02:52

Ooh I forgot, I was also on the front page of the local paper when I was in year 6- my primary school had its centenary and we all dressed up as victorians, I was pictured as the oldest child in the school with the youngest child next to a war memorial plaque that had been found and restored. No idea what that has to do with the schools centenary…

Eamonn Holmes is my friends uncle. I've met him a few times at their family events.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 27/04/2023 03:30

I made a complete drunken tit of myself at the after party of "Driving Miss Daisy" after working on the run as stage crew when a drama student in the West End.

I also studied with Nick Moran at drama school and have an anecdote about that.....

I smoked pot with Nik Turner in my kitchen.....

I did a tarot reading for the lead singer of the Hawklords backstage once.

And at college I was asked out by one of the Pasadenas....

I'm so "almost famous" but really not it's embarrassing 🤣

momonpurpose · 27/04/2023 03:37

For 3 month's in the 90's I dated a sex pistol

someoneisalwaysintheloo · 27/04/2023 03:49

I'm secretly famous for my patents and early tech I worked on. No, I won't say what they are because they would ruin being secretly famous. They are things that everyone has used.

I dated one of the Ramones right at the beginning of when they became famous.

misslooloo · 27/04/2023 03:54

When I was 11 I was in love with the lead singer of a famous boy band. Went to see them in concert and bought a t-shirt with his face on it.

Twenty years later I met him at a PR event in a bar and he asked me out on a date. I said ‘no’. Didn’t fancy him.

My 11-year-old self is still shaking her head in utter disbelief.

BOYBANDLOVER · 27/04/2023 04:12

my son and i was in our local paper 12 years ago

it was the front page as well, im rural Wales in a small village and its very safe here so it must have been a slow news day

son 2 was 29 inches and 11lb11oz born.
he was the biggest baby born to the hospital in 30 years
and yes i had him naturally

not that it was a achievement and i was to be awarded, obviously its how they come out.

i did go massive though, went up to a size 38 from a 14 and couldnt walk i was that big. and it was a heatwave that summer

i was told he was 8-10lbs but i suspected they were wrong as i could feel he was enormous

i wasn't paid but was given a £500 mothercare voucher and kept the photos from the photo shoot.

they are still on my wall now

he was a very hungry baby and was on 11oz every hour and half(i fed until he was full and 10-11oz which is a full bottle always did it)

6 days after he was born we did the shoot and by then he put on 2lb 5oz so was even bigger in the photos

the midwife contacted the paper without me knowing hours after i had him, i could have refused but thought why not, i had a hell of a birth(3 hour operation to put everything back in as he got stuck and when pulled out everything came with him, and im talking everything))

hes 13 in 4 months and is 5ft 9 and 11st7 already.
hews been man size since 8

to this day hes still know as the massive baby and for months we couldn't go anywhere with out people stopping us

YouOKHun · 27/04/2023 05:19

This is an odd one. Part of my father’s family owned a firm called Konn West which had a premises in Soho. One day David Bowie chose to pose under the sign for his Ziggy Stardust album cover. Many Fans assumed the sign that said “K West” was some sort of mystical sign or instruction to them and Bowie experts all got the explanation wrong about why Mr Konn had added the word West. Some thought it was some kind of Kanye West premonition by Bowie FFS! Someone in the music industry rescued the sign in the 1980s and it now turns up at Bowie exhibitions and is worth a lot. I should try and claim it 🤣

I was scrub nurse to Graham Chapman (Monty Python)'s surgeon brother in 1973.
I was born on the same day as Horace (Special AKA) Panter.

BrianTilsleysdancepartner · 27/04/2023 05:50

I had a slow dance with Brian Tilsley from Coronation St at The Millionaire club in Manchester when I was a lass. Also regularly used to catch the same bus to college as Phil Oakey before he was famous. Gosh I’m old.
