Mine is that Derren Brown’s dad was my swimming teacher when I was in primary school.

I was in the top set too, only time I’ve ever been any good at a sport!

I served Simon Cowell the wrong beer and got a disapproving stare. I was on Victoria Derbyshire for about 3 seconds getting interviewed outside a covid testing centre.

When I was eight years old, I wrote to Santa Claus asking to marry him.

He declined my offer, but sent me a doll.

Somehow word spread and journalists from several Scottish newspapers came to my house and school. They put me on the front page. 🥰

About 20yrs ago I was on TV, radio and in the press regularly because of my hobby. It was unusual at the time but is now as common as muck!

I also had a two page spread in Hello magazine but that was for a completely different thing.

Hmmm.

My mother had sex with the lead singer of the best selling American hard rock band of all time.

They've kept in touch, I've been back stage at a number of their shows, inc Las Vegas, which was cool but so, so weird.

She's been happily married to my dad for a very long time since.

I have also had dalliances through my mother's connection to the scene.

Sadly none of them concerned Johnny Depp, which is highly upsetting. I did meet him though and he's lovely.

I'm a very plain looking, married mother of two these days.

I am cousin (very much removed) to Sir Matthew Pinsent (the rower). And no.... I don't think he knows any of my family exist. I was on local TV very briefly when it was covering a local planning protest in the late 1970s (I was young). I have a Chief Constable's award for being a witness in a scary trial. That's about it I think.

I've been paid as an extra in two movies, one for Netflix, one a big superhero blockbuster.

(I was cut from the Netflix movie along with about 50 other extras and the superhero movie was scrapped after test screenings, but I was still in them).

My papa trained a horse that came (an insanely close) second in the Grand National back in the 60’s. I don’t get to brag about it often because so many of my friends want horse racing banned, which I understand, but it would be nice to say how proud I am of him without getting an animal rights lecture.
