I don't believe we've been to the moon and SpaceXs failure further convinces me.

I know I've posted this before and the majority of you think I'm batty, but I don't think we've landed on the moon.

3 billion USD, a giant leap in technological advances and yet it can't even launch.

And the earth is as flat as a pancake.

Verv · 20/04/2023 17:32

Does the ISS not convince you? Or the images from Apollo 8?

TrombonesAreNotBones · 20/04/2023 17:32

Ok. Thanks for letting us know.

electriclight · 20/04/2023 17:33

Great. Thanks for letting us know. I'm pleased you've managed to shoehorn this event into your existing world view.

MuffinToSeeHere · 20/04/2023 17:33

You don't think we've been to the moon because one rocket had to have the launch aborted... what a totally insane thought process!

Do you also not think there are people currently in the ISS?

AliceMay55 · 20/04/2023 17:34

I too think the conspiracy theory could be true, it was in the fcuking 1969 !! Why the f can’t we do it in 2023?
India’s Chandrayaan -2 failed too - didn’t it!

thecatsthecats · 20/04/2023 17:34

The figure spent is irrelevant, unless you actually understand the financial breakdown of the costs of launching a rocket?

I don't know myself, but I'm not so ignorant as to think, "duuuuhh, big number rocket no go" is an opinion worthy of sharing.

AP5Diva · 20/04/2023 17:34

Should have had government employees do it. Sometimes private companies cannot get the job done.

Sparklesocks · 20/04/2023 17:36

What do you want to achieve from this thread? Do you want people to try and convince you otherwise? You can believe whatever you like, no skin off my bum.

like the ESA launch of JUICE last week.

I believe in the ISS, I mean I'm not a crackpot, but no, I don't believe the images.

I'm only enough to remember watching it on a friends grainy TV, the idea of a smartphone was beyond comprehension and yet here I am typing on one and yet we still can't get to the moon.

I'm not a troll or a bot and I've not a new poster

RoseslnTheHospital · 20/04/2023 17:37

So the successful launch of the JUICE mission by the ESA means, what, to you?

What happens with the astronauts who use the space x rockets to go to and from the ISS? Where do you think they're going?

MuffinToSeeHere · 20/04/2023 17:39

I believe in the ISS, I mean I'm not a crackpot, but no, I don't believe the images.

So you believe people board man made rockets and travel to a man made structure built in space where they can live and work for months on end but you don't believe we've been to the moon... Surely you either believe both of neither.

What DO you believe OP?
Do you think we've been to space? That the ISS is real? Just that we did it all but didn't land on the moon?

Do you think it's just NASA / US that knows the truth, Russia believed the hype or that Russia is complicit?

If you believe they've been to space, how does a rocket not launching prove we didn't go to the moon?

I mean this is MN, the bar for discussion isn't very high, if you'd rather discuss not using people's washing line/the attractiveness of obsese women 🙄or weird made up family dynamics you are, in fairness, spoilt for choice.

FoxFeatures · 20/04/2023 17:41

Well fortunately your belief isn't necessary for it to be a fact.

Runningonempty01 · 20/04/2023 17:41

So for over 50 years no one has leaked that it was faked? The astronauts were bribed or threatened to lie for the rest of their lives , their stories remained consistent at all times? I think it would be harder to fake the moon landing and maintain the fiction than to actually go to the moon.

LauraNorda · 20/04/2023 17:44

Who do you think placed the retroreflectors on the moon?

ThatFraggle · 20/04/2023 17:44

People love to be part of conspiracies because it makes them feel special. That they're not one of the sheep. They are special and enlightened.

Funny enough, often when that person is happy with their life and finds something meaningful that they enjoy to keep them busy, the conspiracies disappear...

BMW6 · 20/04/2023 17:44

Well if the Soviet Union had any suspicion (let alone evidence) that USA had faked the moon landings you'd have been reading about it since 1969.

Oddly enough not a peep. Ever.

titchy · 20/04/2023 17:45

Right, so rocket blasts into space to go to moon - not believable. Rocket blasts into space to go to man made space object - believable.

Presumably if the space x rocket was going to the ISS you'd believe it was real despite the failed launch, so... why does the destination make so much difference?

Frabbits · 20/04/2023 17:45

S'Ok OP, I'm with you. How do you land a spaceship on cheese? It would just melt.

ROFLMAO.😂

RoseslnTheHospital · 20/04/2023 17:46

Do you believe that the various recent rovers that have landed are real and are actually on the moon?

I think it's interesting that people think that the technology was not possible in the 60s, when what was needed was human understanding of the physics and maths involved, and the ability to create a rocket that wouldn't be so unreliable as to explode and kill people frequently. The Second World War pushed the development of rocket technology to the cusp of this point on its own.

BMW6 · 20/04/2023 17:47

So OP what's your theory regarding the silence of the Soviets on this?

Do you think they colluded with their arch enemy on this? Why?
