I don't believe we've been to the moon and SpaceXs failure further convinces me.

I know I've posted this before and the majority of you think I'm batty, but I don't think we've landed on the moon.

3 billion USD, a giant leap in technological advances and yet it can't even launch.

The moon landing was fake, if it was all real and with the advances in technology we would be there every day wouldn't we

If you use velcro, you're using a technology invented in the course of the NASA Moon programme. Not all the NASA space programme technology was rockets.

But as I said upthread, you can't argue with stupid.

Shitzngiggles · 24/04/2023 10:46

Why do posters keep going on about not having the technology then? It was only 1969 for crying out loud, its not that long ago. Not everything has been invented in the last 20 years you know.

Because they are sad dimwits.

I have repeatedly pointed to lots of tech we had at the time that enabled the moon landings. I was alive in 1969 as well.

This BBC Sounds podcast in several episodes explores what happens when people (who clearly think they've had enough of experts because they've 'done their own research') persist in believing that something didn't happen or was faked. It becomes appalling for the victims when it's applied to things like terrorist attacks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0d93rkn

I believe in the ISS, I mean I'm not a crackpot, but no, I don't believe the images.

I'm only enough to remember watching it on a friends grainy TV, the idea of a smartphone was beyond comprehension and yet here I am typing on one and yet we still can't get to the moon.

I'm not a troll or a bot and I've not a new poster

Sorry, but you are a crackpot.

Does the ISS not convince you? Or the images from Apollo 8?

The Hubble and James Webb telescopes ?

SerendipityJane · 24/04/2023 19:04

Most moon hoax loons were quite happy to accept what was written on the side of a bus.

Sturnip · 24/04/2023 20:09

It’s noteworthy that the conspiracy theorists haven’t even attempted to produce any evidence in support of their skepticism.

Some don’t believe we had the technology then, but won’t specify what technology.

Some don’t believe we ever went because we’re not regularly going back (but haven’t explained why they’d expect anyone to be making regular trips).

Some don’t believe cameras work in space, but haven’t offered anything in support of this.

Some don’t believe because governments do lie to us, but haven’t attempted to explain why the USSR and other hostile governments would be complicit in this particular lie.

Just a bunch of ‘hunches’ without a shred of substance, and yet they still insist upon their view being valid.

I mean this is MN, the bar for discussion isn't very high, if you'd rather discuss not using people's washing line/the attractiveness of obsese women 🙄or weird made up family dynamics you are, in fairness, spoilt for choice.

Where's your evidence that we haven't been to the moon? Have a look at scientific factual evidence and don't read rubbish. It's entirely up to you if you believe it or not, but the majority will think you rather thick.

DemonicCaveMaggot · 26/04/2023 12:28

People who don't believe in the moon landings are like those who don't believe the Sandy Hook shootings really happened. The number of people involved who would have had to keep the secret for over 50 years is in the tens if not hundreds of thousands - everyone who worked at Lockheed, Grumman, Boeing, Northrupp, everyone working for NASA at Huntsville and mission control, not to mention the USAF and government employees in Washington.

Not one of those people came clean and said 'actually it was filmed on a sound stage in Santa Clarita, April Fools guys'.

The paperwork involved would long ago have been declassified so how come it hasn't been produced and publicized?

One failed launch and yet you think we can't land on the moon? If, God forbid, an aeroplane crashes on take-off today, will you conclude from that that flying vehicles are impossible and all previous aircraft flights never happened?

Rosula · 26/04/2023 14:09

And TV wasn't grainy in 1969. We had colour TV and everything. I suspect what you remember was the poor quality of the pictures from the moon, but when they cut back to James Burke et al in the studio it was fine.

Considering the lash-up they used, getting any video - let alone the quality they did - from the moon was a miracle.

Although it's ironic that the only reason they made the effort was because they knew otherwise really stupid people would say "pictures or it didn't happen".

I am not sure which is worse - Flat earth Moon hoaxers or Brexit obsessives. Some fucker on almost every thread finds a way to mention fucking Brexit.

Runningonempty01 · 20/04/2023 17:41

So for over 50 years no one has leaked that it was faked? The astronauts were bribed or threatened to lie for the rest of their lives , their stories remained consistent at all times? I think it would be harder to fake the moon landing and maintain the fiction than to actually go to the moon.

There's been plenty of news that the landing was a fake. Just not the news we read in our western countries.

RoseslnTheHospital · 26/04/2023 15:04

Anyone would think that we're still living in the pre Internet age.... even people in North Korea, Cuba, China, Russia have access to news sources that aren't under the control of the state. It's absurd to suggest that there is provable evidence that the moon landings were fake, but no one in the West has access to that information.

I'd like to tell you about this amazing new invention called the internet that allows one to see news from other countries. Although, to be fair, it's not all that useful to someone who doesn't understand the difference between news, evidence, speculation and conspiracy.

Agreed.

Over the decades plenty of people who worked for those companies and have published their stories independently from NASA - from senior managers like Harrison Storms right down to the likes of pad chief Gunter Wendt.

There's also now a whole bank of oral histories available on both the NASA historical website (which I know the tin-foil hate brigade will immediately deem as suspect) and also non NASA websites...( which I know...................)

Across all the industries, companies and roles all the accounts are all utterly coherent...Apollo happened.

No, there hasn't. Lots of people on here come from outside "Western countries". Lots of us have lived outside "Western countries ".

Stop fucking LYING

The Soviet Union have never ever claimed the moon landings were faked. Why us that do you think?

Unfortunately, the news speculating that the moon landing was fake is, itself, fake. I suspect Alondra's mind is spinning.
