Do you think it is ok for men to post sexualised reviews of women's knickers on M&S website?

M&S does:

IABU: It is fine
IAMBU: Women do not want to be used to facilitate men's fetishes, they should delete sexualised reviews

There are often loads on M&S. I won’t buy their underwear anymore.

DOBARDAN · 13/04/2023 20:59

Yuk, this is not ok, how can M&S leave comments like that on their website for women to read,
I already boycotted M&S anyway, but here's another reason I would have nothing to do with that store,
Reading that review, or others like it, is hardly going to make women want to buy underwear from them, surely?
Makes me wonder, are men allowed to try on women's underwear in store...?

Randobelia · 13/04/2023 20:59

Fucking rank

EllenLRipley · 13/04/2023 21:00

I wrote and complained and was told I was wrong. I wrote back and was told they would not be removing it and I was not to write to them about it again. They seem to be focusing on the male fetish market.

GRIM

EllenLRipley · 13/04/2023 21:01

I am sure there are lots more. Utterly repulsive.

Yes they are and womens clothing and leave a sticky protest in it and brag on twitter about it

I feel sorry for the clothing department

There are apparently sites where they take pics of themselves wearing the underwear in the changing rooms and then put it back for women to buy. M&S welcome men in to women's changing spaces. ALWAYS WASH UNDERWEAR BEFORE WEARING!

baddecisions11 · 13/04/2023 21:04

I don't understand the problem? It's just a review from a man saying he likes the knickers and the reasons why. He hasn't said anything crude? Or maybe I am misreading his review as it is quite descriptive. I have no issue with men wearing women's knickers - each to their own!

JMSA · 13/04/2023 21:06

Do you know what else I hate? On the hotukdeals app, sometimes women's underwear is posted as a bargain. You ought to see the comments that some blokes leave including, typically, 'well, that's the mother-in-law's present sorted'. 🙄
They think they're hilarious, but they come across like 15 year old twats who've never been with a woman in their sad lives.
I think men commenting over women's clothing/underwear is worse in a sexual than a fetish way.

knightsinwhitesatin · 13/04/2023 21:06

But women would be buying them to be sexy too? They’re hardly everyday granny pants so I’m not sure why you’re offended by a (pretty PG) sexualised review. Would you be offended if a woman had written it?

Grimeduster · 13/04/2023 21:08

His style of writing offends me more than the content. Another mediocre pervert fancying himself as the next Nabokov.

No it isn't. You are either incredibly naive - in which case read what women on this thread are saying, OR you are an apologist for male fetishists performing AT women which is sexual harassment.

SuffolkBargeWoman · 13/04/2023 21:09

@knightsinwhitesatin because if a woman wrote it she would be reviewing the product.
A man writing it is indulging in a sexual fetish, which is absolutely fine in private but I don't want to be involved by reading it. And that's what the fetish is about, not just buying and wearing but women reading about it.

This is what I thought. It's hardly 'phwoar, my girlfriend was really fuckable in these'.

A women is incredibly unlikely to ever write that and well you know it. Show me examples of women writing reviews like that and I will take your comment seriously.

It's a fetish, @baddecisions11 . He has deliberately written a review, not to help other male customers select underwear but because he enjoys involving random non consenting women in his fetish.

I'm not keen on that, surprised M&S are.

And even if it stopped there, men with paraphilias escalate. So if not stopped trying on women's underwear at home, they do it at the store. If writing about it isn't enough, they flash. And so on.

There's a bloke in my area whose insta is full of selfies of him trying on women's clothes in women's changing rooms, in local shops, flashing his dick.

JMSA · 13/04/2023 21:10

... which is what I had expected from the thread title, but I misunderstood.

They’re not reviewing them from the point of view of women wearing them?!?

pickledandpuzzled · 13/04/2023 21:12

Read half a dozen reviews- you can immediately pick out which ones are written by men. The women's ones are totally practical, the men's ones about how sexy they feel wearing them, and how their dick fits in. Totally different.

ISpyCobraKai · 13/04/2023 21:12

Totally grim.
