Do you think it is ok for men to post sexualised reviews of women's knickers on M&S website?

M&S does:

https://www.marksandspencer.com/se/kalina-embroidery-high-leg-knickers/p/P60574443.html

IABU: It is fine
IAMBU: Women do not want to be used to facilitate men's fetishes, they should delete sexualised reviews

I mean they have bought it, I don’t see why they shouldn’t leave a review.

Sometimes they just take them into the changing room for a try on and a wank, put them back on the shop floor and then write a review about their experience.

What's the problem in men wearing knickers and feeling sexy? I don't see an issue with that? It's not for me but sensuality is different for everyone and it's hardly hurting anyone?

The problem for me is being drawn into a man's fetish against my will. I do not consent to be subject to this. Do you understand that these men get off on imagining women being disgusted by their behaviour?

I'm totally fine with men wearing women's panties and reviewing them but I would expect the review to be more about the product, so I think this is creepy and shouldn't be on their site at all. Maybe we should all write and complain!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 13/04/2023 21:35

That kind of lace underwear covered in lips is surely only worn by people wanting to look or feel sexy, it’s hardly your run of the mill going to work underwear. I don’t see why it matters whether it’s a man or a woman wearing the underwear to look or feel sexy or why it’s any worse a man is wearing underwear to feel sexual than a woman wearing it to feel sexual. If selling that kind of underwear designed to look sexy is fine then reviews which highlight the fact it’s sexy are surely fine too, regardless of who wrote them.

potatowhale · 13/04/2023 21:37

If they base their designs on penis-havers' feedback then they'll be far too baggy for non penis havers

pickledandpuzzled · 13/04/2023 21:37

I'm sure there are forums where cross dressers can share reviews of which pants work well. That would be a great place for a man to leave a review of women's underwear, if his aim was to inform other shoppers.

That isn't his aim. It's disingenuous to claim that he's just an ordinary shopper reviewing his knickers.

pickledandpuzzled · 13/04/2023 21:38

And I bet he's never reviewed any of his boxers.

I don't understand the problem? It's just a review from a man saying he likes the knickers and the reasons why. He hasn't said anything crude? Or maybe I am misreading his review as it is quite descriptive. I have no issue with men wearing women's knickers - each to their own!

Yeah, it’s odd to see a man reviewing it, but I also don’t see what’s so awful about what they wrote.

Maray1967 · 13/04/2023 21:40

CaloriesShmalories · 13/04/2023 21:17

I had a look at other sexy knicker reviews - women reviewers tend to give a factual post, commenting on fit and material. I haven’t seen one review from a woman that reads like they have a fetish or are turned on by wearing the pants.

As M&S allow men in their changing rooms and given the social media fetish that many TW appear to have of taking aroused selfies in these unisex changing rooms, I now give them a miss. I’d like to think that M&S have seen a downward turn on sales given that they value their target customers so little.

Exactly my view. M&S need to reflect carefully on how they treat women. Allowing this review to stand would be in line with their pathetic attempt to justify why men are allowed to use the women’s changing rooms.

It would stop me buying it as I don't have a penis so it will be far too baggy on me

Tarantullah · 13/04/2023 21:41

Eurgh. I don't care if a man wears knickers, I do care if women who want to buy some new knickers have to sift through inappropriate reviews, especially knowing that said man will no doubt have written it knowing that this is the case and will be deriving pleasure from that. No woman would write a review like that either, people want to hear about the material, the fit, comfort etc.

dittbtdity · 13/04/2023 21:41

Well if it's OK for M&S to sell sexy knickers then why shouldn't anyone who buys them post a review?

pickledandpuzzled · 13/04/2023 21:42

The men's underwear reviews are actually quite amusing.
One read 'looks great when I go out without trousers'.
Another- 'all the guys in the dressing room were admiring them and asking where they were from...'

highfidelity · 13/04/2023 21:44

Grimeduster · 13/04/2023 21:08

His style of writing offends me more than the content. Another mediocre pervert fancying himself as the next Nabokov.

YES!

NashvilleQueen · 13/04/2023 21:44

The issue is not a man wearing women's clothes but about him writing a review that is sexual in nature because his interest is fetishistic. Women do not write reviews like that on the M&S website about a pair of knickers.

Americano75 · 13/04/2023 21:45

This isn't just dick pandering, it's M&S dick pandering.

pickledandpuzzled · 13/04/2023 21:45

dittbtdity · 13/04/2023 21:41

Well if it's OK for M&S to sell sexy knickers then why shouldn't anyone who buys them post a review?

Ok to write a bit of wank fodder for himself? Ok then.

Can you honestly not hear the difference in tone?

potatowhale · 13/04/2023 21:48

I don't think you can ban people from reviewing an item they've bought though? As long as its not pornagraphic they can't remove those posts?

WhoToBeToday · 13/04/2023 21:48

Imagine you wanted to buy some new sports socks. You were looking for something specific in your purchase (cool tech/sweat wicking/double layered/not too baggy/whatever) so were going to make sure you read the reviews. You only looked in the women sock section.

But some of the reviewers were basically saying "Yep, I am a man and I used this sock to wank into".

  1. Is that in any way useful to you as a potential customer
  2. How does that make you feel?
  3. Is it in anyway appropriate in a women's sock part of a shop?
  4. Would you want your 16 year old daughter reading it?
  5. Can you understand how some women might feel violated having that written when they were expecting commentary on bagginess/sweat wicking..maybe even colour...but not that is it useful for collecting male sperm?
AnneKipankitoo · 13/04/2023 21:49

It’s true , the hips don’t lie… skeleton shows you are a man.

potatowhale · 13/04/2023 21:50

@WhoToBeToday But they haven't written that on the pants?

EmotionalSupportHyena · 13/04/2023 21:50

NashvilleQueen · 13/04/2023 21:23

Men and their endless quest to be seedy fuckers never cease to amaze me.

Like monkeys wanking for Infinity, eventually they type out M&S knicker reviews.

WhoToBeToday · 13/04/2023 21:53

potatowhale · 13/04/2023 21:50

@WhoToBeToday But they haven't written that on the pants?

No, but it just screams it - they are getting turned on by the pants/by writing a review of the pants/by imagining others reading it. There will 100% be wanking happening

potatowhale · 13/04/2023 21:53

FOJN · 13/04/2023 21:29

Do they really?!! That's gross!! Why doesn't anyone stop them?
