Do you think it is ok for men to post sexualised reviews of women's knickers on M&S website?

M&S does:

IABU: It is fine
IAMBU: Women do not want to be used to facilitate men's fetishes, they should delete sexualised reviews

They have men trying on women’s underwear in their store changing rooms because it gets them off. I won’t buy from them anymore because I’m worried about what might be on the knickers.

Tempone · 13/04/2023 22:22

enthusiastically stimulating their clitoris

If overtly sexual language was used i wouldnt be thrilled. but its not, in this case I would just skip on to the next review, just no biggie to me to be honest.

Thursa · 13/04/2023 22:22

I see one review saying they’re pretty and comfortable, and the reviewer sized them up so there was no vpl.

NIparty · 13/04/2023 22:24

I can't see the review, has it been removed?

Tempone · 13/04/2023 22:26

Yes it was removed.

M&S are very much aware of these reviews and have been for years.
They have a policy of allowing men into the women's changing rooms to try on women's underwear.
They know what the men do in the changing room, while wearing/ using the underwear and that the underwear is put back on the display for unsuspecting women to find.
This has been discussed on MN for years and many of us have complained to M&S.
I don't shop there any more.

Why don't they not put them back on the shop floor if they have stains in? Can't be fun for the staff.

LittleMG · 13/04/2023 22:28

I was so confused for some time as it had been removed by the time I read the thread. I was reading the review of
the pretty knickers and trying to think of what angle it was coming from to
have upset so many people. 🤦‍♀️

knittingaddict · 13/04/2023 22:29

FOJN · 13/04/2023 21:29

Sometimes they just take them into the changing room for a try on and a wank, put them back on the shop floor and then write a review about their experience.

Exactly. Are some "chilled" people on here really ok with that?

SalaDaeng · 13/04/2023 22:31

Putting the soiled knickers back on the shop floor is part of the thrill.

Oh ffs so now I can't even buy knickers safely anymore.

StoneofDestiny · 13/04/2023 22:32

Ah - I wondered what was wrong with the one review I can see - now I see it must have been removed by Mumsnet.

Tempone · 13/04/2023 22:34

Writing a slightly seedy review of a pair of drawers, with no crude or vulgar language is 100 percent not the same as wanking into them in the shop .

ShowUs · 13/04/2023 22:37

Most shops don’t let you take underwear into the changing rooms as you’re not allowed to try them on, so I find this hard to believe.

If I have underwear in my hand they hold onto it whilst I try my other items on.

I think it’s probably just a rumour that does the rounds on SM.
A bit like when they say HIV positive people are injecting blood into oranges.

TheGingerTucci · 13/04/2023 22:38

Can only see this there now:
Pretty and comfortable to wear. I sized up for comfort and to ensure no panty lines under my dress but theyre pretty true to size.

chaosmaker · 13/04/2023 22:39

pickledandpuzzled · 13/04/2023 21:10

It's a fetish, @baddecisions11 . He has deliberately written a review, not to help other male customers select underwear but because he enjoys involving random non consenting women in his fetish.

I'm not keen on that, surprised M&S are.

And even if it stopped there, men with paraphilias escalate. So if not stopped trying on women's underwear at home, they do it at the store. If writing about it isn't enough, they flash. And so on.

There's a bloke in my area whose insta is full of selfies of him trying on women's clothes in women's changing rooms, in local shops, flashing his dick.

But how does he get away with indecent exposure, especially if he's posting evidence of it online?

Justanotherlurker · 13/04/2023 22:39

I can kind of see where you're coming from but then again I am not one to scour reviews for knickers, I think those looking at reviews for knickers online is just as niche as those you are highlighting to be offended by.

The obvious answer is just to scroll on by and not get so offended you have to bring it up on another forum to be outraged at, it isn't 2010, some people are really forgetting what the internet was for and how easy it is to just scroll by without trying to rail up an outrage mob. (I am not agreeing with the post, but it really is easy to skim read it and skip it)

Not sure it's indecent exposure if you're in a changing room. On the shop floor maybe.

cocksstrideintheevening · 13/04/2023 22:42

No I don't, and I feel the same about snag tights.

FOJN · 13/04/2023 22:42

potatowhale · 13/04/2023 22:32

Oh ffs so now I can't even buy knickers safely anymore.

And when they write their reviews they speak in very derogatory terms about the 'sort of woman' who they hope buys the stained underwear. I've written about this on MN before as have many others but some people think we're far too uptight about raging misogynists in the women's changing rooms.

Sometimes they film themselves wanking in women's changing rooms and toilets and upload it onto niche websites designed for men to share the footage with other men who share their kink, it's a whole new genre of porn, it's an even bigger thrill for those watching if it's obvious women are in there at the same time.

Am I not seeing what you are seeing as there is only one review and it doesnt seem sexualised at all?

The review has been deleted in the last hour or so.

So it seems that someone at M&S is listening at least.

knittingaddict · 13/04/2023 22:51

So M and S eventually thought it was worthy of a deletion, unlike some people on here.

It's still on the UK site at least, I can't speak for the Swedish one.

WarningToTheCurious · 13/04/2023 22:55

This one?

Do you think it is ok for men to post sexualised reviews of women's knickers on M&S website?
