My DH doesn’t have the legs, but at least this guy is not wearing lipstick and a wig, and dresses his top half like man. His wife helps him choose the clothes.

It's fine and he pulls it off well. I wouldn't like it if my DP started dressing like that but I also wouldn't like it if he started wearing lots of fashion styles e.g. high end sportwear/trainers or the shiny skinny suit and brogues look. Other women wouldn't like men in hippy grungy garb which I'm quite keen on. Horses for courses.

Xrays · 10/03/2023 19:52

Would completely put me off a man if he started wearing heels and skirts. No issue with it at all in the broader sense, each to their own and all that but just couldn’t fancy them at all.

Good point, I'd sooner a skirt and fishnets than him deciding to go all grey joggers and no boxers or football shirts and shiny black Nike joggers.

I do care what he doing is if it is a sexual fetish I am expected to be part of. Ie, if he dresses like that in public and I am expected to be shocked/amazed/whatever. I'm sick of this type of shit. Reminds me of the pervert in his 60'swho dresses as a schoolgirl and hangs around outside of schools. Not as bad, but definitely on the scale.

This 100% it's a fetish, AGP. I personally wouldn't want to participate in it to give him the attention he's looking for.

I think short tight skirts and pointy stilettos are as impractical and ridiculous on men as they are on women. I've never worn either, and never will. His specific choices suggests he's oblivious to the harms of misogyny, and male gaze, and the sexualisation of women's lives.

He's right though, with the exception of underwear, there's no intrinsic reason for clothing to be gendered. But then I'm a Scot, and men wearing skirts is normal here - as in many countries around the world.

Scots don't wear skirts, they wear kilts which are not the same thing.

Tbh I’m more concerned about “I made sure my jeans were always freshly starched” this guy is seriously fucked in the head!!! Who the hell starches jeans.

But his legs very clearly look like a man's legs in most of those photos 🤷‍♀️

I picked one to show him ( red shoes). I genuinely think they like a woman’s legs. His legs look more ‘feminine’ in those than some women i know so i knew DH would fall for it.
I shared my trauma with him … he fell for it and we laughed.

😂 just looked at the photos again, the top ones look more feminine I guess, there are 2 further down that definitely don't. I'm probably just jealous as nine are a bit chubby right now 😂

What's that down the front of the business suit ensemble? It looks like bird poo?

LuckyThatMyBreastsAreSmallAndHumble · 11/03/2023 08:11

AGP

Anything moving away from gender specific clothing gets a thumbs up from me.

I hate that in some industries women are expected or encouraged to wear heels whether they like it or not. Many of us find them difficult and uncomfortable to wear and I would love for the men who put us in that position to try wearing them for a day and see how that like it.

VaddaABeetch · 11/03/2023 11:48

He has men’s legs, not surprisingly because he is a man.

Womens legs are meant to have a certain amount of fat. Women will never have have the muscle development of men.

Runningonempty01 · 11/03/2023 12:49

Yeah I don't get the fawning over his legs they don't really compare aesthetically to say a young Cindy Crawford. Most of the men in my running club especially the tall ones would look like that in heels. There is always this urge to say when men do something stereotypically female they do it better than women. Some fairly mediocre male primary teachers seem to get all sorts of plaudits when a female colleague might actually be a better teacher and is just expected to get on with it.

HRTQueen · 11/03/2023 13:36

Its a fetish I don’t think he looks good he looks like a man dressed partly in a sexualised idea of a women

many women wear long shirts with flip flops or ballet pumps he wont be wearing that type of outfit

and no I would not want a partner who has such a fetish

HRTQueen · 11/03/2023 13:39

the fawning is predictable he has slam muscular mans legs

because he is a man

FourFour · 11/03/2023 13:45

He looks utterly ridiculous. Like a confused fool walking around. If my dh did this I would leave after I got over laughing at what a clown he looks like.

It's the elephant in the room or the emperor's new clothes. If a female celebrity or a friend wore that outfit there'd be comments that it's out of date, going back to the 90s or trying to be sexy in the workplace but because it's a chap and we have to be inclusive there's umpteen posts saying he looks great. He actually looks a fool. He's doing it for effect and attention seeking.

Daisyinthegrass · 11/03/2023 14:27

I would not date a man who opted to wear skirts or heels (or any other garment of women's clothing). I accept that probably makes me appear hypocritical as I wear jeans and boots most of the time but jeans and boots are practical and socially acceptable for women to wear.

Runningonempty01 · 11/03/2023 14:37

I think if a man wore a sarong style skirt and flat shoes it wouldn't bother me, heels and a pencil skirt , not keen!

I don't think he looks great, I just wouldn't care if my husband chose to dress like that.

MeinKraft · 11/03/2023 15:06

No. I wouldn't be keen. Seems like the thin end of the wedge to me.

xJoy · 11/03/2023 15:06

He looks ridiculous.
How on earth could that "not bother" you as a wife 😐

Why do you think it should?

Conkersinautumn · 11/03/2023 15:33

My husband is OK with me dressing in loose t shirts, check shirts and combat trousers. I'm not sure that it's really my business if he chose to dress in heels and a skirt, though obviously I'd think he'd fuck his back and feet up.

RemoteControlDoobry · 11/03/2023 15:36

He’s got manly, muscular legs. Why do so many woman seem to envy them? I’ve always found that odd.

He’s an arrogant, attention seeking twit with a fetish, pretending otherwise. Who would think that wearing crippling stilettos equals freedom?
