My DH doesn’t have the legs, but at least this guy is not wearing lipstick and a wig, and dresses his top half like man. His wife helps him choose the clothes.

Heard of this guy before. Sorry but I like my men to dress like men and it's just not my cup of tea.

Magentax · 10/03/2023 16:16

I really hate those type of dated heels on anyone so I wouldn't like my partner wearing them. Don't care what this man wears though.

MissMogwai · 10/03/2023 16:21

His legs are amazing! Fair play to him if he's happy and all that, then good for him.

But to be honest, no, I wouldn't be happy if my husband wanted to do the same. Absolute no from me.

Redebs · 10/03/2023 16:21

He looks fine in a skirt, as long as it's long enough.
I don't think heels are good on men nor women though.

Littlefaeries · 10/03/2023 16:28

I think he looks ridiculous but he can wear what he wants.
If my dh dressed like that I wouldn’t go out with him in the same way I wouldn’t go out with him if he wore old jogging bottoms.

NumberTheory · 10/03/2023 16:32

I wouldn’t mind my DH in a skirt, but that is not a style I find attractive on anyone and it’s not one he’d find attractive on me. Agree with poster who called it dated. In particular, I find those sorts of heels kind of offensive and tend to think a little bit negatively of anyone in them.

WestwardHo1 · 10/03/2023 16:35

He's welcome to wear what he wants.

I wouldn't fancy my boyfriend in a skirt and heels

Sparklybutold · 10/03/2023 16:44

No I wouldn't like it one bit. I like my men to look like men.

JungleBoobies · 10/03/2023 16:47

How does anyone take him seriously at work?

HeartBrokenWife · 10/03/2023 16:47

I think he's another attention seeking white, late middle aged male. Oh, is he wearing women's clothes? So what.

IncompleteSenten · 10/03/2023 16:47

🤷 Togas. Kilts. Grass skirts. Cassocks. Etc

YoBeaches · 10/03/2023 16:55

I would question why he chooses to at style particularly - the outdated right skit and giant heels - most women don't dress like that anymore for the office, and haven't for some time, this doesn't demonstrate boredom with men's clothes, but a fetish with a particularly traditional feminine image.

I wouldn't like it, I don't think it looks good and I don't believe he's being honest about why he does it.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 10/03/2023 17:00

Meh, he can wear what he likes

my DH would look ludicrous wearing similar

BellePeppa · 10/03/2023 17:05

No not my cup of tea for a straight man (partner) but if I had a gay friend then I’d probably think they looked great. I think Johannes from Strictly looks fab in heels. I never wear heels nowadays I think they’re so uncomfy and stilettos are rather dated compared to a pair of Sketchers, boots or even wedges so even for me, a woman, they’re a no.

OneTC · 10/03/2023 17:09

KimberleyClark · 10/03/2023 16:09

I’m not sure he did but you can see crewmen in the background wearing dresses.

First couple of seasons it was the standard dress uniform. Different vibe to matey in the OP though😅

Stravaig · 10/03/2023 17:11

I think short tight skirts and pointy stilettos are as impractical and ridiculous on men as they are on women. I've never worn either, and never will. His specific choices suggests he's oblivious to the harms of misogyny, and male gaze, and the sexualisation of women's lives.

He's right though, with the exception of underwear, there's no intrinsic reason for clothing to be gendered. But then I'm a Scot, and men wearing skirts is normal here - as in many countries around the world.

Oh yes I’d forgotten that. It was knee length and they wore thick tights with it though! Bit like judges wear.

I think certain skirt styles can look good on men, the sort of kilt type styles that still have a masculine vibe and are not meant to be feminine. This style is too feminine and rather old fashioned in my view.

I love a man in a kilt 😊

musingsinmidlife · 10/03/2023 17:17

The LGBTQ community got really mad at him for separating himself from them and saying he is a straight man and that clothes don't define your gender. According to those who got mad, clothes are a form of gender expression so he is defining his gender by how he expresses himself.

Lots of people on Instagram dress however for the likes and follows and attention and opportunity and sponsorships. He does his thing too. Good for him for being himself and wearing what he wants.

Many on this board have very traditional views on gender - it pops up all the time so I am not surprised that so many are against it and feel one should dress in a way their spouse finds attractive, stick to being stereotypically feminine or masculine in clothing choices in alignment with your sex, and to not draw attention with their clothes.

InFiveMins · 10/03/2023 17:25

No.

Blueisthecolour1 · 10/03/2023 17:28

To all those saying he looks amazing; sorry but he really doesn’t. He looks exactly as a poster observed upthread - fucking ridiculous & attention seeking. It’s all a bit “look at me, aren’t I spectacular.” He thinks he’s on-trend with the whole gender neutral thing but actually it’s embarrassing. I cringe for him TBH

BellePeppa · 10/03/2023 17:30

MistyGreenAndBlue · 10/03/2023 12:04

Tight skirts and skyscraper heels? It's a fetish. I don't know a single woman who dresses like that. (I'm aware some do but it's relatively uncommon these days)
So no, I wouldn't like it.

I stopped dressing like that over twenty years ago. I wouldn’t be seen dead going to work like that nowadays. A good quality pair of leggings, a long (over the bum) top:blouse/jumper and ankle boots (no high heels) is my ‘look’. If I wear a dress then it’s with black tights/leggings and flats or ankle boots.

gogohmm · 10/03/2023 17:36

Dp wouldn't get close to fitting due to the beer belly but philosophically i can't see why men can't wear skirts and dresses, and crucially still be men

ShakespearesBlister · 10/03/2023 12:00

Jesus Christ.

😂My sentiments exactly.

This would turn me right off my partner. But I don't care if other men do it.
