This is abuse. What kind of parent takes their baby to a show like this?

11% have voted YABU.

Can any of you tell me why? Do you genuinely believe that exposing babies and toddlers to this is a good idea? Or is it a reactionary vote because MN is full of bigoted fuddy duddies?

My children are older, when my oldest (now in his 20s) was a baby I know the reaction to this sort of thing aimed at his age would be seen as grooming, as repulsive. It seems things have changed, and not for the better.

How the shit have we got to this point? This is grooming, it’s not progressive or inclusive, it’s actively breaking down safeguards and boundaries.

So come on, you silent 11% - are you pervy trolls? Speak up, tell us why this is ok!

Apparently Alison Hammond and Dermot from This Morning think people are overreacting and should get involved- it's just a bit of fun.

Well neither of them knows anything about safeguarding, evidently.

Do we think they'll backtrack when the obvious flaws are pointed out?

Those photos are definitely photoshopped, in the second photo the mothers aren’t even looking at the drag artist! Note the image on the camera of the woman holding the phone….

They’re not photoshopped, there are videos out there too.

We shouldn't sexualise women but it's ok for men playing dress up as women to shove their arses in children's faces. It's disgusting.

SunShineAllMine · 03/03/2023 21:37

Alcoholic Mother's who attended and don't know how to safeguard, got alcohol and drama, we know what the hosts got from the event.

Now men know they just need to give these particular Mother's some alcohol whilst the police and SS will do nothing, for it's far right and an irrational fear to safeguard these babies.

There are enough genuine safeguarding issues here, we don't need to invent issues around alcoholism.

Someone on the FWR thread made a really good point though, that alcohol reduces inhibition...so if someone wants to use your baby as a prop in a sex show, five Pornstar Martinis might reduce your natural reaction to say "hell no"!

Oysterbabe · 03/03/2023 22:07

Oh I seeeeeeee. Nothing to worry about then 😒

We still live in a world where children are bullied and assaulted throughout school because their peers think they are 'queer' and 'poofs', leading to years of misery for children who are too afraid to tell anyone that they think they might be different. Somehow life needs to be made easier for those young people who are trapped and living in fear of people finding out about their sexuality and going through years of torment having to suppress their feelings and hide who they are, but i just don't think this is the right way to go about breaking those barriers down. If my child was struggling with their sexuality I wouldn't want them suffering years of inner torment and loathing because society has conditioned them to believe that because they are different they are dirty and deserve to be punched, kicked and spat on and subjected to years of homophobic abuse. But I really don't think exposing toddlers to the more extreme side of being sexually different is the right way to nurture an all inclusive society.

It isn’t. There is no benefit to same sex attracted children or adults in this show that may result in the lowering the sexual boundaries for these children.

Who benefits from lower sexual boundaries?

Which children benefit from thinking it is normalised behaviour to be in public wearing barely any clothes and acting in an overtly sexual fashion?

TobeLeRone · 03/03/2023 22:08

I am confused as to why these queen's would accept this gig and not think its totally inappropriate?

I think there’s been a drip drip of breaking down the boundaries - drag queen story time, that rainbow dildo monkey hired for a children’s session at a library, the teaching and affirming of gender anything.

This is queer theory in practice.

Beachbabe1 · 03/03/2023 22:10

Quite unbelievable how anyone thought this was a nice outing for children!? Drumming more trans, non binary into our children! Theres enough of it at high schools already!! Someone from RU Paul's drag race spoke out about it and said it's more attacks on the trans community...no we are horrified that people whether Male or female or whatever you claim to be, are girating around in underwear and high heels in front of children!! The two mums who set it up have received a lot of abuse and have cancelled all future shows! I mean...what was going through their heads!? What is this world going to be like in 10 years...literally dread to think!

I only have my life experience to go by, the Mums who were drinking alcohol in the day time when in the sole care of children were alcoholics.

Mulhollandmagoo · 03/03/2023 21:35

I'm sorry, but what in god's name is that?? I've been looking at the pictures and I still can't work it out! It looks as if parents are taking their babies to some sort of drag themed baby sensory class! But that can't be right because that would be really fucking weird!?!

Correct! It's a jolly day out for mums to enjoy themselves with baby in tow apparently!!

These images are not photoshopped. I have seen the unconvincing arguments from those who wish they were.

These images are stills and are consistent with archived stills from the company’s own website gallery that was archived on 2nd December 2022. Unless somebody is playing a long term game, this is real. The images are also consistent with current images used to advertise the current events on other ticket sales websites. And the images are still cached on search engines.

You might wish they have been faked for your own reasons, but they are not.

Oysterbabe · 03/03/2023 22:18

They are definitely not fake. If they were the organisers would have been shouting about it. Their reaction has just been 'Stop trolling me haters 😭😭'

VestaTilley · 03/03/2023 22:18

YANBU. Horrific. How bad does it have to get before our utterly spineless politicians do something?

TeaMistress · 03/03/2023 22:19

There are some serious safeguarding issues here. This is absolutely not something that children should be seeing and those parents are utterly irresponsible. Exposing children to this kind of sexualised performance amounts to grooming. These are adults dressed up in fetish / bdsm gear and essentially exposing themselves in front of babies. This is appalling

WarWhatIsItGoodFor · 03/03/2023 22:20

Fucking grim. Allowing this kind of shit is not going to end well. So much wokeness going on they don’t know their hairy arse crack from their elbow.

It was stated on the Jeremy Vine show this morning that there was an infant age restriction of 0-12 months, which I would struggle to be cross about as tiny ones are not going to take anything in at all, but there seem to be toddlers in those pics and they don't need to see scantily clad strangers gyrating around.

I'm not anti Mum & baby events being a bit adult in terms of language and jokes etc. Most of us would swear or watch past the watershed telly in front of a baby but after a year it does get icky real quick.

DumpedinKilburn · 03/03/2023 22:22

It's like an image of hell and it is where all this shite about 999 genders has got us. Babies looking at the hairy arseholes of men while their mothers laugh.

Those who seek to defend it, mealy mouthed saying it's photo-shopped, I suppose at least it shows you have some shame at where this shit has got has us., as you don't want to believe the ocular proof.

Alas, it's not photo-shopped-videos-from which these shots are stills-are available.

These mothers-or parents with vaginas-should be a laughing stock but sadly, I don't think they will.

ireallycantthinkofaname · 03/03/2023 22:24

I don't get the point of it.
It would be like sitting down for storytime before bed and opening up to Page 3, or Playboy magazine.
It's way too sexualised.

Tabitha888 · 03/03/2023 22:25

I love drag, but wouldn't be any my baby seeing this and being exposed to sexual performances...

ZeldaB · 03/03/2023 22:25

Moonicorn · 03/03/2023 21:21

YANBU and I will not be told I’m ‘just enlightened enough’ to understand why erotic performers for toddlers is a good idea.

Think about it - what normal man do you know that would do this? If you asked your husband or male colleague to dress up in a thong and heels to perform for children, what would he say? He would say it’s creepy as fuck and no way. So why is it any different because they call themselves ‘gender fluid artists’ or whatever?

I can’t help but feel the end goal is child sexual abuse under the guise of ‘art’ or ‘liberating children to explore their bodies’. Enabled by a load of useful idiots who can’t see the wood for the trees.

If it walks like a pervert, and quacks like a pervert, it’s probably a pervert.
