This is abuse. What kind of parent takes their baby to a show like this?

Well don’t go yourself then. It’s a free world. I think you need to get some perspective on what child abuse actually is

Oh because a grown man with his bits & bobs hanging out & actively bending over & spreading his legs in front of infants & toddlers isn’t verging if not actual abuse? Oh right ok. Do you think these men do this because it’s a joke? NO! They do this because they get a kick out of it & it’s DISGUSTING.

Mulhollandmagoo · 03/03/2023 21:35

I'm sorry, but what in god's name is that?? I've been looking at the pictures and I still can't work it out! It looks as if parents are taking their babies to some sort of drag themed baby sensory class! But that can't be right because that would be really fucking weird!?!

Redglitter · 03/03/2023 21:35

WTAF.
Who on earth saw those performers & thought. Oh I know, they'd be great for next months baby & toddlers group

What on earth were those parents thinking taking their children to that

I don't understand how this has become some prevalent in the past few years. It's just so utterly strange! What's the thought process going on in these parents' minds? The people promoting it are pushing an agenda to normalise perversion, but what are the parents getting out of it? The endorphin boost of virtue signalling? Or what?

Alcoholic Mother's who attended and don't know how to safeguard, got alcohol and drama, we know what the hosts got from the event.

Now men know they just need to give these particular Mother's some alcohol whilst the police and SS will do nothing, for it's far right and an irrational fear to safeguard these babies.

No, you are completely correct.

Drag themed baby sensory class and rave.

Alcohol for the parents.

£25 a ticket.

I’m opened minded but this is nonsense. I think there’s something wrong with wanting to perform a sexually provocative entertainment act in front of young children and their parents.

It makes me wonder if the attention seeking person who organised it, did so purely because they knew there would be a back lash.

It was a couple of women I think.

And not started to create a backlash, just they were bored of wheels on the fucking bus < direct quote.

Theres a thread on fwr if you wanna know more.

maddy68 · 03/03/2023 21:39

Toddlers and babies?

Oysterbabe · 03/03/2023 21:40

It's all about normalising sexual behaviour around children. Hey it's fine for this naked stranger to pick you up, see how mummy is laughing? They should be arrested; the organisers, the performers, the parents.

Wheels on the bus can get annoying but I just switch it up a bit to something else like that no more monkeys one

Why? What is the point. This is clearly involving the children so the excuse of it's just like adult cinema doesn't make sense

That isn't a stranger picking up a random child.

It's a mother lifting her daughter in the air.

Ilkleymoor · 03/03/2023 21:46

I think there's a lot of pressure on mum's to be 'cool' on maternity leave and this seems a bit risqué so it feels like you're not being a boring mum.

When it's actually appalling and breaks any safeguarding you can think of. And also looks quite boring when you can just go to a daytime rave if that's your bag, no arsecheeks necessary.

Foucault, a creepy French man and some ideas he had.

ShakespearesBlister · 03/03/2023 21:51

We still live in a world where children are bullied and assaulted throughout school because their peers think they are 'queer' and 'poofs', leading to years of misery for children who are too afraid to tell anyone that they think they might be different. Somehow life needs to be made easier for those young people who are trapped and living in fear of people finding out about their sexuality and going through years of torment having to suppress their feelings and hide who they are, but i just don't think this is the right way to go about breaking those barriers down. If my child was struggling with their sexuality I wouldn't want them suffering years of inner torment and loathing because society has conditioned them to believe that because they are different they are dirty and deserve to be punched, kicked and spat on and subjected to years of homophobic abuse. But I really don't think exposing toddlers to the more extreme side of being sexually different is the right way to nurture an all inclusive society.

funder · 03/03/2023 21:52

It is. I know the performer in the picture personally.

EpicChaos · 03/03/2023 21:55

Helleofabore · 03/03/2023 21:48

Is it? How do you know this?

@funder

Is it really?
Only in actuality, it would appear to be, Betsy Bon Bon, the burlesque dancer!
Do you have any proof that that's betsys' daughter, or are you just guessing? If so, why precisely? Who are you trying to protect by doing so, exactly?

SunShineAllMine · 03/03/2023 21:58

Ginger hair children, left handed children, bespectacled children, disabled children and and many other children suffer bullying or teasing at school.

I view people as humans of equal value.

I don't worship a certain group of people, I know about 15% of the population do and they view them as a sacred caste of more special humans, they have to accept that not everyone else does and never will worship their Quazi Gods, equality law gives us freedoms.

Helleofabore · 03/03/2023 22:02

funder · 03/03/2023 21:52

It is. I know the performer in the picture personally.

So a burlesque performer is using their child as a prop while they are mostly naked to sell their business?

And this lowering of sexual boundaries for this child is supposed to be a good thing?

Rowthe · 03/03/2023 22:03

Apparently Alison Hammond and Dermot from This Morning think people are overreacting and should get involved- it's just a bit of fun.

ukgone2pot · 03/03/2023 22:03

I just find the whole thing weird. Just fucking weird.

I grew up in Brighton. I grew up going to Pride. Drag queens aren’t new to me. They weren’t new to me as a young child.

But this smacks of a weird sort of liberal performative parenting that really grinds my gears. Your kid isn’t getting anything from this. It’s just smug Instagram fodder.

This. Absolutely agree @SnappyTheCrocodile

TheRosesAreInBloom · 03/03/2023 22:04

Those photos are definitely photoshopped, in the second photo the mothers aren’t even looking at the drag artist! Note the image on the camera of the woman holding the phone….
