Dog people who use the B word

DonnaBanana · 11/02/2023 11:21

I’m not into dogs myself but I often come across people who are and especially amongst the more breeder-y/training/“Dog life” people they seem to take pride in using the B word (that rhymes with pitch) as much as possible and it turns my stomach.

I know that female dogs are technically called that but they seem to endlessly use the word even in contexts where it’s not relevant to mention the sex of the dog. For example “oh yes I was training my B the other day and my B made a mistake so I didn’t give my B a treat” And I’m like please just stop, call it a dog or by its name. You are just trying to be offensive.

It’s such a shame such a horrible word is used for two reasons but AIBU.

OP posts:

YABU. Why would it make your stomach churn? They are using the correct language.

PerilousCorridor · 11/02/2023 11:24

You sound insanely prissy. It’s just a word for a female dog. Yes, it’s significant that it’s also used as an insulting term for women, but I’d be very surprised if anyone was using ‘bitch’ as anything other than a synonym for ‘my girl’ or ‘my dog’.

MrWhippersnapper · 11/02/2023 11:25

You’re being ridiculous

Squirrelblanket · 11/02/2023 11:25

Get a grip.

plumduck · 11/02/2023 11:25

But bitch is a "horrible word" because its correct usage is in dogs?

DogInATent · 11/02/2023 11:25

My dog is a bitch. That's a fact.

Object to the misuse of the word as a derogatory term, but don't clutch your pearls and try to cancel it as if it isn't a valid word when used correctly. That only reinforces the incorrect use.

Shalumf · 11/02/2023 11:26

😂 Sorry this is hilarious

MissingMoominMamma · 11/02/2023 11:26

A female dog is a bitch. This is the one situation where the word shouldn’t offend you.

vivainsomnia · 11/02/2023 11:26

I thought the B word was Baby!

JazzyGeoff · 11/02/2023 11:26

I've got 99 problems OP but...

Tiggal · 11/02/2023 11:27

You are ridiculous

spaghettimaretti · 11/02/2023 11:27

I’m going to say YABU but i have noticed horse people who have female horses say “ my mare” and people who have make horses say “ my horse” rather than “ my gelding” or “ my stallion”.

*misses point of thread **^

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 11/02/2023 11:27

You're being ridiculous 😂

It's not offensive to call a bitch a bitch.

spaghettimaretti · 11/02/2023 11:28

RainyDaysareCarp · 11/02/2023 11:28

I hope I don't offend people when I talk to them about my cock and hens. eg my cock was up at dawn this morning . My neighbours have complained about my cock wakening them up. Should i call him by his name Eric?
