Dog people who use the B word

DonnaBanana · 11/02/2023 11:21

I’m not into dogs myself but I often come across people who are and especially amongst the more breeder-y/training/“Dog life” people they seem to take pride in using the B word (that rhymes with pitch) as much as possible and it turns my stomach.

I know that female dogs are technically called that but they seem to endlessly use the word even in contexts where it’s not relevant to mention the sex of the dog. For example “oh yes I was training my B the other day and my B made a mistake so I didn’t give my B a treat” And I’m like please just stop, call it a dog or by its name. You are just trying to be offensive.

It’s such a shame such a horrible word is used for two reasons but AIBU.

Presumably these people have male and female dogs and are using the correct terminology to differentiate between the two?

SomeCommonThing · 11/02/2023 12:00

MuseThrower · 11/02/2023 11:44

I’ve got three bitches. I usually call them twats.

😂😂 I had a Border Collie bitch and this resonates well!

Wonderpoo · 11/02/2023 12:00

Can we have a photo of Eric your cock?

DestinysGrandchild · 11/02/2023 12:01

There are bitches everywhere, get over it.

OhClunge · 11/02/2023 12:01

plumduck · 11/02/2023 11:32

Yeah say Eric my cock

What happens if your cock is called Cock though ? I know a Cock called Cock
Cock Cock come 😂good Cock

oakleaffy · 11/02/2023 12:01

'Bitch' is a perfectly normal word when speaking of female dogs ''Bitch spay'' at vets , for example.
Dog shows have classes for ''Bitches'' separate for 'Dogs'.

thesunsoutagain · 11/02/2023 12:01

This is ridiculous. When I was looking for a new dog after losing our black Labrador I looked on kennel club website and several reputable sites, including some responsible rescue sites and they all describe female dogs as bitches ie black bitches brown bitches or golden/yellow bitches - because that is exactly what they are. It's not racist or sexist or a derogatory term

NooNakedJacuzziness · 11/02/2023 12:01

JazzyGeoff · 11/02/2023 11:26

I've got 99 problems OP but...

Grin ace

lordStrange · 11/02/2023 12:02

Yanbu at all, I think bitch is a horrible word and I'm a right potty mouth. You're op reminds me of the neighbour in Ghosts ( thinking about that since there's that thread going on) who is always screaming for his bitches.
Don't listen to arseholes on here op Smile

Lavender14 · 11/02/2023 12:02

Piglet89 · 11/02/2023 11:39

My cat is a total motherfucker, if that helps.

This comment had me in a winkle lol

The word is just factual- people using it to refer to women in a derogatory way is offensive but not when it's used in the proper way it was intended. What's offensive about it is it levels women with a female dog implying we are less than other humans in some way there's nothing wrong with a female dog being a female dog which is what the term was originally coined for. If anything what grates on me about it is that it implies they see their dog as useful for breeding/ training/ working etc rather than a member of their family but not all people see their dogs that way and it doesn't mean they're not treated just as well. Yabu

MissWings · 11/02/2023 12:03

I’ve never heard of anyone refer to their dog as bitch multiple times. I would find that odd. I mean certainly once or twice but why not just use the dogs name?

Tessabelle74 · 11/02/2023 12:04

Oh my days, I wish my life was so empty I had time to have worries like this 🙄

JassyRadlett · 11/02/2023 12:05

People who do this - peppering it through conversation - always put me in mind of the neighbour in Ghosts.

BrioNotBiro · 11/02/2023 12:06

If this isn't a windup OP (which I suspect it is), do you call cows "girl cattle" or "lady cattle" so not to have your stomach turned?

SomePosters · 11/02/2023 12:08

The B word

fucking hilarious

If you’re looking for something to be offended about can I point you in the direction of the shit show that’s pretending to be your government…

Rinkydinkydoodle · 11/02/2023 12:08

OP I am going to throw you a bone here (harhar) and say this is a thing I too have observed.

My Dad will say oh I saw the neighbour’s new little bitch, she’s a delightful greyhound little bitch.

He says it like Brian Blessed doing a rap, a big sonorous ‘beeeeeetch’ like he’s particularly loving life in that moment or proud he knows the lingo or something. My mum also says it but in a coy way, like she’s sayin a little sweary but it’s allowed because it’s Correct Terminology. My older brother has obviously also noticed it cos he has a boy pup and when we met a girl dog out and about he says ‘what a lovely little beeeeeeetch’ in a silly voice.

I don’t have a problem with it, as such, but I just wanted to let you know you’re not the only one. I also think ‘okay, bit specific?’ because who apart from the owner, if them, actually cares what sex a pet is? But maybe not, perhaps if the correct sexing term for cats was arsehole and wanker I too would be running about telling everyone I had one of each at home.

thecatsthecats · 11/02/2023 12:08

It's very Aunt Marge, to use it so frequently. But then it is accurate.

RainyDaysareCarp · 11/02/2023 12:10

Wonderpoo · 11/02/2023 12:00

Can we have a photo of Eric your cock?

Oh definitely not - he never stays still long enough to get a pic of him!

WetBandits · 11/02/2023 12:11

thecatsthecats · 11/02/2023 12:08

It's very Aunt Marge, to use it so frequently. But then it is accurate.

If there’s something wrong with the bitch, then there’s something wrong with the pup!

OP you are being ridiculous.

WhoNeedsSleepNotISaidMyBody · 11/02/2023 12:11

bloody fucking school bastard holidays, they're a bitch!

BlondeBombshelf · 11/02/2023 12:12

I’ve never actually met someone who does that. I bet it’s someone who wears a padded gilet, polo neck, mountain warehouse jacket and has a ‘sensible’ haircut. They’re definitely a ‘type’.

lordStrange · 11/02/2023 12:14

BrioNotBiro · 11/02/2023 12:06

If this isn't a windup OP (which I suspect it is), do you call cows "girl cattle" or "lady cattle" so not to have your stomach turned?

What's actually wrong with that though? I call my cat a girl, so does the vet. If I had a girl dog I would call her a dog. Also why is everyone so fucking sneery on here? The op mentions something they don't like they say they couldn't leave their house because of it ffs

AngeloMysterioso · 11/02/2023 12:14

the B word (that rhymes with pitch)

My god. Imagine being that precious about the word bitch.

TaraMock · 11/02/2023 12:15

If you can say shit, fuck, bollix on MN, I'm pretty sure your can say bitch - why so coy?

Wonderpoo · 11/02/2023 12:16
