Received a verbal invite one day before.
Would you go?

Currently the situation I'm in.

I'd go if local. I have a couple of wedding outfits so good to go. Less likely if have to travel far away and find overnight accommodation at the last minute.

"If you have clothes that you can wear to a church service or even a funeral,"

Going to a wedding in a funeral outfit is only for when it's your ex getting married or you're an evil MiL isn't it?
I suppose you can add a spot of colour, but all over black is quite funny...

How? I thought you had to read the banns for three weeks. Or do you not have to do that anymore?

@JoWawa may not be in the UK?

In the UK it is impossible to get married that fast except by Special License - these are not normally granted unless there is some exceptional reason e.g. one member of the couple, or a member of their immediate family, is dying.
