To think that a man standing outside a school in girls uniform is not OK?

1000 replies

crinklemum2 · 20/01/2023 08:35

Name changed as this is very local and he was seen wearing my DD's school uniform.

A local school uniform shop shared images to reassure parents they would not be selling him any items. Essex police say he poses no risk and people should stop sharing the photos. He looks to be late 50s/early 60s.

He's been seen around schools - both primary and secondary - dressed as a school girl (in their uniform). I am fucking outraged that the police don't seem to think that's an issue. God forbid we offend men or shame their fetishes.

AIBU that this must be an antisocial behaviour at the very least?

Awww. You know the desire to be a different gender is very strong in some people. This is a psychological situation and doesn't automatically indicate weirdness or danger. Im speaking with the reassurance that the police have checked him out. But he should really restrain himself if only for his own protection and good.

Fuck I thought you were being sarcastic but it appears not Confused

'Awwww' ffs!

omnitea · 20/01/2023 11:39

Typo, should ne this man not this many in my last post.

seineingefrohrenerpimmel · 20/01/2023 11:40

@louiselouiselouise
I am so sorry that you were sexually abused at school. That was truly terrible.
You were not in any way to blame. I can understand why you insist on your own daughter wearing trousers because of the trauma you suffered.
But you must not blame girls who are wearing short skirts for any abuse they might suffer. It is the people carrying out the abuse - whether that is inappropriate touching, inappropriate remarks etc - who are 100% to blame.
These perverts would abuse no matter what the girl was wearing.

She doesn’t ask a reasonable question. The evidence has been provided. He’s a sexual predator. He’s a danger. We don’t want him near children. HTH.

Is there evidence he is a sexual predator? What evidence is that? It's a fast moving thread so I may have missed it. Thanks

Yup. Abusers working for abusers.

Stop women spotting patterns.

Stop women sharing knowledge.

Stop women protecting children.

Make sure women are afraid to trust their senses, afraid to trust their gut, afraid to speak up for fear of being called a bigot, cancelled, attacked, sacked.

Keep Mumsnet out of politics, eh lads?

The majority of us whose brains haven’t been contaminated with tripe can see why he is a sexual predator. See also the post about his family coming forward to list what he’s been doing over the years. He should be locked up.

Testina · 20/01/2023 11:41

@mustgetoffmn (and yes you should, with that attitude)

This has fuck all to do with gender recognition.

Sure, it’s an emotive topic… but I bet if you were to ask 100 MTF transgender women (or men, or transwomen, pick your term) I bet they’d all say, “fucking arsehole pervert - school uniform fetish at a school? Wrong wrong wrong.”

And no double the ordinary transgender people reading that have their head in the their hands wishing the police would act - because they have enough shit thrown their way without being tarnished with this.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 20/01/2023 11:33

QED.

I'm with you on this one. A lot of these posts "witch hunt" is the most apt description, ironically given that referred to women on the receiving end.

For thos saying there is nothing the police can do:

In 2008 a man was given an ASBO for exactly this behaviour:

arbroath.blogspot.com/2008/12/man-dressed-in-britney-spears.html

A 59-year-old man who dresses as a schoolgirl has been given an antisocial behaviour order by Northampton Magistrates Court.

For more than a year Peter Trigger of Farnden Close in Thorplands has been dressing as a schoolgirl and hanging around near a primary school when children are on their way to and from school, following children and behaving in an inappropriate manner.

Civil injunctions, CPNs and CBOs replaced Antisocial Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

www.gov.uk/civil-injunctions-criminal-behaviour-orders

I guess the police hadn't been Stonewalled in 2008.

Beowulfa · 20/01/2023 11:43

You lot are being awfully unkind. Obviously this individual is on his way to and from a fancy dress party; you know those daily costume parties that are held 08.30-15.30 Mon-Fri in every town.

Just so bigoted to assume a bloke in a schoolgirl outfit repeatedly hanging around outside a school is up to no good. There are loads of reasons why this is totally normal. Loads and loads.

AlisonDonut · 20/01/2023 11:43

JudgeRudy · 20/01/2023 11:20

I asked this early and its a genuine question. What are you fearful of? That's the bit I don't understand. Do you think he's going to expose himself? Touch someone? Groom someone? I'm not aware of a link between cross dressing and child sexual abuse.

Why not ask the school girls that have him come and sit next to them what they fear?

Why do people like you insist that this man has a right to perform his fetish in public next to primary school kids? They didn't volunteer to be part of his sex life.

Sweetleftfood · 20/01/2023 11:43

Wow this is deeply disturbing, cannot believe the police response! I think parents need to put pressure on SLT and governors to escalate this further with the police. At least a safer neighbourhood team member could patrol and ask him to leave every time he is there. Don't care if he has mental problems, he shouldn't be hanging around the schools

I saw him described on Twitter as a “grotty old perv” and I thought that was perfect. What’s unbelievable is the police have spoken to him and decided he’s not a risk (yeah, I’ll trust their judgment!) and asked that people stop sharing pictures of him as it might upset him! If I were local I’d be calling my MP and my local police and crime commissioner and kicking up a bloody stink. He is imposing his fetish on children.

Exactly. After their judgement this week of the rapist not being a risk and let him continue being an officer, I would rather not take their opinion that he's not a risk.

Testina · 20/01/2023 11:44

”This has fuck all to do with gender recognition.”

Quoting myself: to clear, this whole situation and how it is being handled very much is related to gender recognition.

What I mean by fuck all to do with it, is that this man personally is not innocently walking around in a school uniform because he is a she. If it were purely that he were a she, s/he/zhe/they could walk on by in skinny genes and a blouse.

KAYMACK · 20/01/2023 11:44

Having a school uniform fetish is fine... in your own home.

Wearing it next to a school? Seems he wants to frighten and intimidate, get a reaction.

In the old days, Plod on the beat would have sent him scurrying away with just a look.

Crunchymum · 20/01/2023 11:44

Well as the police aren't doing anything, the school may be your best option here.

DesertIslandCondiment · 20/01/2023 11:44

I take posts at face value, I don't have the time or energy to track poster's habits tbh.

The fact that you and many others seem to think the answer is for this man to be treated to a bit of vigilante violence is a pretty good indicator to me that the discussion has moved on from reasoned debate. I have known too many people beaten to a pulp for being "different" to get on board that particular runaway train.

lemmein · 20/01/2023 11:45

@BoredOfThisMansWorld 100% every.single.time.

It's nothing new. The PIE lobby group did it in the 70s, and judging by some posts on here they haven't gone away!

Involving young schoolgirls in his sexual fetish is most definitely a sexual predator.

Wow who's angry? Where did I say anything about gender recognition? So you have done a survey of all transgender (a word I carefully didn't use) people's reactions towards everything?
