To object to having to call a man accused of rape 'she' in a criminal court trial?

Firstly, the definition of rape is penetration by a penis without consent. Only men have a penis. This case makes a mockery of the law and the criminal justice process and is a gross victimisation of this victim?

Could someone tell me how to do the big words, please? I must have been off on a break when that happened!

Apologies for the derail but I want to be able to REALLY SHOUT at posters like @Dotjones

YukoandHiro · 25/01/2023 16:32

While I understand have sympathy for the point, legally theres no problem here. The definition of the word "woman" has changed. So a "woman", in legal terms, can commit the offence of unconsented penetration with a penis - rape - because the woman in question can be a person of male biological sex who has transitioned to live as a woman but has a penis.

@SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth

You have mail

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 25/01/2023 16:39

A MAN RAPED TWO WOMEN AND IS NOW REWARDED WITH CAPTIVE WOMEN TO RAPE.

That's the problem with the whole A man can be A woman thing

YukoandHiro · 25/01/2023 16:43

The dictionary definition has changed - there were loads of threads about it on here last year. People were understandably angry.

I'm not contesting the point of this thread.

I didn't see those threads. What is the new dictionary definition then?

Comedycook · 25/01/2023 16:47

Has the dictionary definition of the word "man" changed too?

TangledWebOfDeception · 25/01/2023 16:47

The dictionary definition is by the by. What matters is the legal definition. And sadly we’re already down the rabbit hole on that one.

We’ve been warning against this for years. Nobody gave enough of a fuck, and now it’s too late. As pp said, it’s binary (HAH, the irony!) and you can’t have it both ways. This was the only way it was going to go.

The system is fucked now. We’re fucked. Until enough people get angry about.

TangledWebOfDeception · 25/01/2023 16:48

*about it.

Oh! You mean online wokey blokey dictionaries. The social media definition as preferred by total eejits. THOSE dictionaries!

Woman still means Adult human female.

Always will.

YukoandHiro · 25/01/2023 16:48

The definition with all the built in caveats? That's the sop to modern use, as per social media. It isn't THE dictionary definition, never will be!

nilsmousehammer · 25/01/2023 16:50

Mouth still open at Dot's post.

But in this whole 'they're all CRIMINALS' thing and that corrective rape is good for CRIMINALS

can you really not see the obvious difference that one CRIMINAL is going to have a really lovely time cracking on offending instead of living the life destroying trauma you would find so therapeutic for them? And that you're splitting the CRIMINAL who gets a theme park buffet experience and the CRIMINALS who get to be terrorized and raped on sex based basis?

Or do the prison service drop in Big Nev and The Beast from K wing from the men's prison up the road to spend a few hours in the showers a couple of times a week with the CRIMINALS missing out on their corrective rape therapy?

Comedycook · 25/01/2023 16:51

An adult who lives as female...hmmm

I have no idea how you live as female unless you are female.

TangledWebOfDeception · 25/01/2023 16:52

@SamphirethePogoingStickerist as long as we cannot legally say that a man is a man, we’re fucked. We should be able to say that, straight out, whatever the circumstances, whatever the context. At work, in court, and in every facet of life. That is the truth as we all know it definitively to be.

People should have been up in arms about this right from the beginning. But nobody gave a fuck, because, well, men get what men want. Oh and ‘be kind’ to the men.

IcakethereforeIam · 25/01/2023 16:52

If the dictionary definition of a wotd changes then it means something else if the thing it's describing hasn't changed. If woman is redefined to also mean man, then we'll need another word for woman. When they come for that word, which they will, then we'll need another word, then another and so on. For now I'm sticking with woman, the old fashioned cunty sort, adult human female. I don't care about the dictionaries, if they say woman includes man, any man, then they're wrong.

nilsmousehammer · 25/01/2023 16:52

Quite.

The only way to live as a female is to be alive inside a biologically female body.

Which will have been identified as female at birth.

There is no point at which a male body ever becomes a female body.

YukoandHiro · 25/01/2023 16:52

@SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth I'm not sure what you mean by that because it is in the dictionary. I'm not saying it's the right decision, I'm just pointing out this is why people can't accuse the legal team of tying themselves up linguistically.

I choose to do just that. Since fighting off crazed accusations and threats at a centre I volunteer/work at I have decided I am not for whimpering any more.

Oddly since being told to fuck and play somewhere else by a group of octogenarians, that specific transwoman hasn't been back! So I haven't had chance to see if I could be as brave in real life when it might actually matter. But I fully intend never to mouth that lie again.

Having read that second definition I note its built in caveats - could be said to have been etc etc. It is a secondary, social definition. not THE definition. Not legally, not biologically. Not really!

And yes, legal teams using that definition would be tying themselves in knots. It is, and always will be, a ludicrous claim!

These threads often make me want to reuse a one-liner that’s often mentioned on “threads you found funny” threads.

Think it’s along the lines of “off you fuck then cuntychops”.

Anyone who twists themselves into tight pretzels to say why it’s ok for penises to be in women’s prisons really needs to re-examine their thought process.
