What are others?

OP posts:
theblackradiator · 13/01/2023 20:37

your list is odd op but I do think wealthy people are more likely to go on skiing holidays. play golf. own or have anything to do with horses.

gravyriceandchips · 13/01/2023 20:37

I read loads! Have to buy perishables because I've just gone veggie and my hobby is doing flowers for people because I can't afford to wrap my job in to do it full time.

gravyriceandchips · 13/01/2023 20:38

Sorry, I am not wealthy.

Coffeepot72 · 13/01/2023 20:43

Like others, I don’t find OPs list particularly representative of the wealthy. Plus, being ‘wealthy’ is relative. I envy people who:
Eat out a lot
Have 3 or 4 holidays a year plus weekends/nights away
Food Shop at Waitrose and M&S without considering the cost
Have house repairs, decorating, new carpets and furniture when needed
Have a cleaner.
Have a gardener

We do all of these, except have a gardener, but we’re not wealthy, just a 2-income household. But maybe we’d be wealthy if we didn’t do these things …

Lovemusic33 · 13/01/2023 20:45

I though everyone has hobbies? 🤔. I am not wealthy, in fact I am pretty skint but I do have hobbies, not all hobbies cost money.

I don’t read much.

Things I would do if I was wealthy…..

Have a cleaner….maybe a butler too
polish my Bentley
Eat smoked salmon for breakfast every day
Have big fancy dinner parties

Hmm1234 · 13/01/2023 20:47

You mean rich people shopping in Aldi? The library is free and they have plenty of books there..

EasterIsland · 13/01/2023 20:49

Ridiculous OP.

(Also - wealthy people don't suffer fools gladly).

KimberleyClark · 13/01/2023 20:51

I think wealthy people get their fragrances from Penhaligon’s or Creed - nothi g as vulgar as Chanel or Dior for them.

logicisall · 13/01/2023 21:05

Wealthy people plunk their pink Porsche SUV in the middle of two parking spaces at the gym. All.The.Time.🙄

stregadelcucito · 13/01/2023 21:23

what sort of wealth are you referring about OP? monetary or other?

I'm 2/3 wealthy by your standards....

RestingMurderousFace · 13/01/2023 21:34

Actually Creed with their faux pedigree is considered vulgar, Chanel is not.

Timeturnerplease · 13/01/2023 22:05

Wealthy people don’t buy perishable items? Someone needs to have a chat with my dad about his fruit bowl, then…

Tontostitis · 13/01/2023 22:06

Say super lots
Ski
Get botox

Borisisafecklesstoad · 13/01/2023 22:29

HangoverSquare · 11/01/2023 23:17

WE (proles) are the aristocracy's perishable items!

🤣🤣😭

Goes to show I’m not wealthy or I would know that!

I'm not wealthy either, I'm just a hopeless perfume addict!

Iseestupidpeople · 13/01/2023 22:39

Also reading is a hobby. Just saying.

You must be very boring not to do anything else but work eat and sleep without a break to enjoy anything, anything at all.

Iseestupidpeople · 13/01/2023 22:47

And people that don’t live at the seaside but own at least 1 or 2 or more “second homes”. And are essentially ruining not just the housing market but also the UK holiday spots with this.

2Rebecca · 13/01/2023 22:56

I'd have thought buying lots of perishable food was more middle class. Hobbies are more of a middle class thing, our family has gone upwardly mobile through the last 3 generations like many and the number of hobbies has increased with each generation, and different hobbies. my grandparents loved horse racing and had regular bets at the bookies.

2Rebecca · 13/01/2023 22:58

I think of botox as like sunbeds and artificial tan and artificial nails, not a middle class thing.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/01/2023 23:08

Oh botox is well and truly among the middle classes. Kate Middleton is also fond of it, so its appeal goes even higher in society.

Winemeup · 13/01/2023 23:41

Are you on drugs?

Newcast80 · 13/01/2023 23:58

What? Library books are free. Perishable foods such as fruit and veg are absolutely normal purchases for everyone. Hobbies can be something as simple as going to the park and watching the birds or playing cards with your friends.

There is also such as thing as budgeting and bargain hunting. I know for me, thats how I make ends meet. I budget, I plan ahead, sometimes as far ahead a year or two if needed. The day my daughter was born I started saving for her first car necause if I didnt, there would be no way I could help her when the time came.

Its also very unfair to judge others who apear to have more then you same as its unfair to judge others that have less.

Tony Maguire 💀 I am DECEASED

RumblePhish · 14/01/2023 00:14

On the royal family threads there are references to posh people groupings as a “set” therefore I conclude it’s a wealthy person’s thing to have a furry stripey face and be bezzie mates with a water rat and a toad with limited impulse control.
