To Think We Should Still Be Wearing Masks

Especially seeing the news coming out of China, and the lies they seem to be telling about the Covid situation there.

I never stopped wearing a mask when shopping anyway, even though we were told it was no longer necessary.

Yes, I know that most people have now been vaccinated.

No hated masks each to their own . I am not worried.

Palomabalom · 28/12/2022 23:30

Absolutely not

Ludo19 · 28/12/2022 23:30

Considering we were advised to wear masks AFTER the outbreak and people still got covid when wearing them I don't bother. But it's up to the individual as is being vaccinated.

Fraine · 28/12/2022 23:31

No one is stopping you from wearing one, are they?

bumblefeline · 28/12/2022 23:31

YABVU

Is there no longer a Covid topic?

Lexi868 · 28/12/2022 23:32

I mean I don't judge anyone wearing them but I think if you are vaccinated then you shouldn't be made to wear a mask long-term. This isn't something that will go away overnight and it's a bit unrealistic for us all to be wearing them every time we go out. But if you want to and choose to then that's fine.

Wolfiefan · 28/12/2022 23:32

Forever?
Bloody hated wearing them. Tend to avoid crowded places for non covid reasons. And I’m vaccinated. I just want to get on with my life now.

Notimeforaname · 28/12/2022 23:33

Not at all. I wont be wearing one.

Greenshake · 28/12/2022 23:33

No.

Marymary987 · 28/12/2022 23:33

No, not happening.

Steoa · 28/12/2022 23:34

I like masks tbh, I'm autistic and it makes me feel a bit calmer "hiding" behind them. But I don't think they should be compulsory, it's fine as it is, people can wear or not wear as they want.

And those unvaccinated should just wear them? Thatll work.

bizzywiththefizzy · 28/12/2022 23:34

I still wear them but I am immune suppressed ,my Husband does too when indoors (shopping) .
The risk for new variants in China is high .

Itloggedmeoutagain · 28/12/2022 23:34

Given that masks are there to protect people from what you're breathing out rather than in, it makes me feel I want to give mask wearers a wide berth as it makes me wonder if they've got the virus

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/12/2022 23:34

Not for me, but 100% happy for other people to if they choose to.

Pelo22 · 28/12/2022 23:35

I've been wearing one shopping as I'm immunocompromised
Just tested positive today

Lentil63 · 28/12/2022 23:35

You do know that masks weren’t especially effective in preventing disease. Wear one if it makes you feel better. Leave the rest of us to live our lives please.

Fairislefandango · 28/12/2022 23:36

Nope. I got covid when everyone was wearing masks, then got covid when nobody was wearing masks <shrug>.

Got Covid when nobody had vaccines. Got it again when I'd been vaccinated, and felt a lot less ill.

Cherryblossoms85 · 28/12/2022 23:36

Seeing as they're so effective, why do you care whether anyone else wears them...

JoyBeorge · 28/12/2022 23:37

@JoyBeorge 🤣

Greatly · 28/12/2022 23:38

The only place I wear a mask is the hospital and I'm pretty sure i caught Covid there, so I'm not sure how effective they really are tbh.
