To think WTF is going on with Royal Mail?

What is the actual point of them anymore? I sent a small parcel 1st class 2 weeks ago and it's still not arrived...

Thecrackineverything · 13/12/2022 12:33

We are not receiving any parcels at all. Evri is apparently no longer delivering, which is tricky seeing as every retailer in the country appears to be using them.

WorriedandScared93 · 13/12/2022 12:34

Worse time of year as well! I've sent Xmas cards to family and they think I'm snubbing them off as they haven't arrived yet ... is this all down to the strikes?

OP posts:
Iheartmysmart · 13/12/2022 12:35

I had a parcel delivered yesterday which was send via Royal Mail 24hr tracked on 17 November so it might turn up in the next week or so. They have however completely lost another two parcels which were posted in October!

Threadkillacilla · 13/12/2022 12:36

Widely advertised and covered on the news, have you not seen anything?

What’s Evri’s excuse?

YourMommaWasASnowblower · 13/12/2022 12:38

We have received nothing either and waiting on cards and 2 parcels. We haven’t even received general letters that are due now. We have had nothing since the beginning of December. They were useless before the strikes they are way beyond useless now. They don’t deserve the pay rises they are demanding. It’s a completely unreliable service.

WorriedandScared93 · 13/12/2022 12:40

Perhaps we should all be entitled refunds. I paid 1st class service and I haven't got that.

Funny they still take your money.

OP posts:
itsnevertolate · 13/12/2022 12:40

This makes me want to cry, the stock I am waiting for which should have been here weeks ago is probably among all of that. I've lost so much money in sales waiting for it to arrive.

WorriedandScared93 · 13/12/2022 12:40

Totally agree @YourMommaWasASnowblower

How else are we supposed to send simple things like cards?

No excuses. Just gaslighting.

My. company has just changed a lot of it’s written communications to electronic (customer invoices, payslips etc.) because of the strikes. It’s quite an old fashioned company, so a lot of this change was probably overdue and going to happen anyway at some point. But the industrial action has been the catalyst.

It’s also now exclusively using DPD for our parcels rather than RM/Parcel force. I suspect we may not be the only company doing so. Regardless on your viewpoint of the strikes and whether they are reasonable, I can’t see how RM and the employees are going to recover well from this. The confidence/trust has been broken.

PurpleButterflyWings · 13/12/2022 12:42

@Thecrackineverything why is Evri no longer delivering?

@WorriedandScared93 I hear ya. The post has been bonkers this past few weeks. I got 3 Christmas cards today (from 3 different people) that were posted 1st and 2nd December. All second class, but still 12-13 days!!! Also got a package that came today sent 29th November.

I ordered 4 items from ebay around 5th-6th December. Only one has come. 3 are in transit. (those other 3 are Royal Mail!) I think the ship has sailed for getting anything to anyone by 24th December from now.

PeekAtYou · 13/12/2022 12:43

Yy to Evri being an equal shit show

I think that’s the biggest problem, there is no rival company who can deliver letters instead. Most services when you have no choice but to use them give rubbish customer service.

PMSL at Evri using the run up to Christmas as an excuse to be fucking shit.

What's their excuse during the other eleven months of the year?

cleanfreak12345 · 13/12/2022 12:46

I've received a parcel absolutely fine within two days of being sent out

ILoveeCakes · 13/12/2022 12:48

Evri person brought a small parcel today. As I got to the door, he was on his tiptoes nebbing through the windows at the top of the door.

Unprompted, he made up something about stretching as he'd been working so hard.

I wouldn't have thought anything of it, except that he made that BS comment. Now I wonder if he was either being nosy or casing the joint. It's quite a nice house, you see. Could be either. Or maybe driving a van does do your legs in?

MassiveSalad22 · 13/12/2022 12:48

I sent a parcel first class yesterday and it’s arrived other end of the country today 😵‍💫 dunno wtf is going on but there seems to be no rhyme or reason!

Why? WHY would an Evri courier want to see inside your house? Confused

Yes. All delivery drivers are desperate to see into your lovely nice house. Maybe see if you can log this with the police?

Batshit.

I never have any issues with Evri, I always think it must be down to the local couriers.

I think only one of about 50 things I've ordered over the past few months has been with Royal Mail. I wasn't in so it got sent to the distribution centre which opens 4 hours in the middle of a weekday, and I had to wait about a week to collect it.
