Racism in the Royal Family

Susan Hussey has resigned. Philip was coming out with similar comments in public all his life, yet there was no move to get rid of him. AIBU to think this is more royal hypocrisy?

I think an old lady asked questions she'd have been better advised not to.

Hills2022 · 30/11/2022 19:13

She resigned because of the Twitter mob, not because she had actually done anything wrong.

I’m no flag shagger but come on, how could the DoE resigned? That’s the entire point of them, we’re stuck with the noncy racist fuckers regardless of how awful they are. Wish the lot of them would fall in the sea. it is unacceptable.

@Snoozer11 comments are pretty racist though. She asked where Ngozi Fulani was from and was told ‘Hackney’. The unacceptable part was the racist old boot refusing to accept someone who looks like her as British.

TheFairyCaravan · 30/11/2022 19:14

I knew it wouldn’t take long for her age to be used as an excuse when it’s really not.

But she resigned, why? Someone “advised” her to do so. Royal Palace wasn’t prepared to defend her. Perhaps they think, The Queen is gone , this lady is well into her eighties , so she may go into retirement- in disgrace after sixty years of service.

New boss in charge now. Shaking it up. Remove the racists.

Not done anything wrong? She hounded that poor woman as to where she was from. She would not let up. Read it. It's clear.

^^ I hope so. Time for a new era

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 30/11/2022 19:21

You wouldn't dress like that without expecting someone to ask where you were from.

This is a disgraceful comment! There couldn't be a clearer way of saying that you don't think people of African heritage belong in the UK.

And the racist apologists come out

Thindog · 30/11/2022 19:21

Isn't there another thread about this, or has it gone somewhere?

I don't know why anyone is surprised. Thinking they are superior to others by virtue of birth is their raison detre. Their hangers on will obviously buy that some humans are better than other humans. Even if they don't overtly express it, it is baked into the form.

Exactly.

Gosh, I wish Twitter had this power - Sunak and co would be long gone. In fact, it wasn't even trending on Twitter when Hussey resigned.

That's an outrageous reach.

I'm saying that if you express yourself in a certain way, you invite conversation based on that expression.

Exactly - we are stuck with them whatever noxious behaviour they demonstrate. Time to get rid of the lot of them.

Ngozi Fulani is about the same age as me which means she will have been asked 'no, but where are you really from' her whole life. I'm not surprised she's really pissed off, especially at an event that is about celebrating women who do astounding work in MWAV.

The lady in waiting or whatever she is called should have been briefed better. The royal family is a business and they need to behave like one. They need to reevaluate their training and education for their staff and make it fit for the 21st century.

She's resigned and he's dead, so clearly we're not stuck with them.

Unless you're accusing all of them of being racists based on a comment an elderly friend of his late mother made?

TheKeatingFive · 30/11/2022 19:29

It was a totally obnoxious exchange. In past times, I'm sure the palace would have tried to brush it under the carpet, but Charlie and Wills need to look like they care now.
