Soup thread has me craving soup!

What are your favourite tinned soups? Also open to the shop-bought fresh soup suggestions!

And proper goulash soup!

DeedIDo · 01/11/2022 17:41

Bachelors Royal Game. Reminds me of my late DMIL and I always crave it when I have a cold.

It's an AIBU thread. So yes, for me, op is bu to ask, as all tinned soup is grim.
hth for a few of you.
Fuck knows why it's in aibu but there we go

Just because it's in AIBU doesn't mean you have to be a twat.

Baxter's Cock a leekie
Heinz cream of chicken when poorly

There's only one tinned soup and that's Heinz tomato soup. Ideally eaten with two slices of white bread, cut into squares.

This although the children will also eat chicken soup and homemade carrot soup

Heinz tomato with buttered toast [white].

I can't stand Heinz Tomato Soup. It tastes of chemicals.

don't see how - it's not exactly full of crap/unintelligible ingredients is it?

SantaCarlaCalifornia · 01/11/2022 17:45

I usually have tomato or oxtail tins, so pretty boring.

I've recently discovered Asda Chicken and Mushroom soup, the fresh one not tinned. I usually have a good shake of Maggi seasoning in it. Yum.

Cully and Sully are by far the nicest of the fresh soups I've tried. Available in Tesco. Not sure about other supermarkets.

Tinned soups seem to contain too much salt for me.

I’m glad someone else has said this… Cully and Sully are amazing. I love the tomato and basil. I get them from Tesco and from Ocado

Heinz cream of tomato and vegetable soups mixed together are heaven.

Soup cocktails! Now not thought of that!

Their veg/chicken and veg is nice too

They put all their recipes online as well - I had a crack at the veg one but it wasn't as nice as shop bought

APurpleSquirrel · 01/11/2022 17:49

Fresh:
Waitrose Mexican Yucatan Chicken Soup
Waitrose Chicken Broth (great when feeling ill, add some extra garlic & ginger)
Yorkshire Provender Spiced Parsnip
Yorkshire Provender Chicken & Lentil
Sainsbury's Jamaican Jerk Chicken
Sainsbury's Moroccan Chicken
Covent Garden Soup Co Lentil & Bacon

Love soup!

Blush21 · 01/11/2022 17:49

Heinz chicken noodle
i like most supermarket fresh chicken and vegetable soups. Tescos is the nicest so far

beelover · 01/11/2022 17:53

Heinz Mulligatawny is my absolute favourite.

WhispersOfWickedness · 01/11/2022 17:53

Tesco do Sweet Potato and Coconut as a tinned suit, it's lovely 😋

workingeverysingkeday · 01/11/2022 17:54

Heinz Mulligatawny is so good.
Piping hot with some crusty bread or even poured over a jacket potato

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 01/11/2022 17:58

If its got chicken in it I'll eat it, I also used to like spicy parsnip soup, I think sainsburys made it.
I dislike tomato soup immensely and unless oxtail is less salty I won't eat that either.
Always with 2 slices of bread.

FelicityFlops · 01/11/2022 18:01

What is a tinned soup?
All the people I know, well, alright my family, and I make our own soups. No tins involved.
We did not grow with tinned soup either.

ErinAoife · 01/11/2022 18:04

Another vote for Heinz tomatoes soup

fastcarsnarrowstreets · 01/11/2022 18:08

Campbell's Condensed Celery - hard to find but so good.
Heinz Cream of Tomato - if feeling poorly, fry up some garlic in the pan before adding the soup, then heat slowly to infuse.

Poor thing. Home made soup is all well and good and has its place, but there's really no decent home made equivalent of Heinz Cream of Tomato. Or of chicken noodle come to think of it (not Heinz)

NewBootsAndRanty · 01/11/2022 18:12

The only home made soup I encountered growing up was orange and lentil Envy

mondaytosunday · 01/11/2022 18:12

Heinz tomato or Campbells Cream of Tomato. I like their chicken noodle soup too, and mushroom soup can be added to other recipes but I'm wondering now if they even sell Campbells full range in this country....
