Soup thread has me craving soup!

What are your favourite tinned soups? Also open to the shop-bought fresh soup suggestions!

I can't stand Heinz Tomato Soup. It tastes of chemicals.

Cookerhood · 01/11/2022 16:57

Yorkshire Provender Roast Chicken & veg or Cully & Sully smoked haddock & salmon chowder.
Tinned: Heinz cream of tomato, obvs.

Justcallmebebes · 01/11/2022 16:57

Sainsbury's own brand broccoli & Stilton

mellicauli · 01/11/2022 16:58

The M&S tinned Chicken & veg is almost as good as the Provender Roast chicken one. But cheaper.

IHeartGeneHunt · 01/11/2022 16:59

Baxter's Tomato with an egg mayo sandwich on the side.

cobblers123 · 01/11/2022 16:59

Tomato soup is the one I can't stand, Heinz or any other brand. It's far too sweet for me.

Grim.
I am definitely not craving shop/tinned soup

Not the thread for you then.

CuriousCatfish · 01/11/2022 17:02

Heinz tomato soup.

Afterfire · 01/11/2022 17:02

Baxter’s Sri Lankan sweet potato one. Utterly amazing. Super healthy too, 2 portions of veg in every tin apparently!

AnneShirleysNewDress · 01/11/2022 17:06

Baxters cream of tomato - delicious.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/11/2022 17:06

I like M&S cream of chicken. 55p a tin from Ocado. I add plenty of pepper, as I do to most things.

LakieLady · 01/11/2022 17:07

Sainsbury's Keralan chicken is my favourite fresh soup, too @gogohmm . Favourite tinned is Baxter's carrot and butter bean, but I'm also very partial to a decent pea and ham soup.

But if I'm ill, my go to is Heinz tomato. I swear it's actually a medicine. I like to grate some cheese into it, too.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 01/11/2022 17:08

M&S sweet potato and butternut squash. Yum. I want some now.

Helendee · 01/11/2022 17:10

Heinz cream of tomato and vegetable soups mixed together are heaven.

OldTinHat · 01/11/2022 17:11

Asda tinned vegetable soup. It was 45p but now 55p. Its great though.

00100001 · 01/11/2022 17:13

Going to have to try the roast chicken one now

SammyScrounge · 01/11/2022 17:13

Scotch Broth - either Baxter's or Heinz

Not the thread for you then.

It's an AIBU thread. So yes, for me, op is bu to ask, as all tinned soup is grim.
hth for a few of you.
Fuck knows why it's in aibu but there we go

glamourousindierockandroll · 01/11/2022 17:18

Scotch Broth is top tier

Minfilia · 01/11/2022 17:19

M&S used to do a lovely creamed vegetable soup, but they discontinued it. It was lush with their torpedo rolls 😍

All other tinned soups I’ve tried taste like chemicals to me. The new Covent Garden lentil and bacon carton soup is nice though and very healthy.

Melliphant · 01/11/2022 17:19

Heinz cream of tomato is the only decent Heinz one - and yes please to the grated cheese. Most of the others are thickened salty water with homeopathic levels of other ingredients added. All the supermarkets do better versions.

mouse70 · 01/11/2022 17:19

Any tinned tomato with cubes of cheese mixed in either cheddar or blue cheese and white crusty bread with butter. Chicken or mushroom soup as a sauce on pasta

CrackingcheeseWallace · 01/11/2022 17:19

gogohmm · 01/11/2022 16:31

@Noodlesmumm

So I'm not the only one to serve with mash! I thought it was just my family

I was brought up on mash with soup!! Love it.

Your post is missing a few words. 'In my opinion ...' would do it. Or 'I think that ...'

HTH.
