Soup thread has me craving soup!

What are your favourite tinned soups? Also open to the shop-bought fresh soup suggestions!

There's only one tinned soup and that's Heinz tomato soup. Ideally eaten with two slices of white bread, cut into squares.

strangelyenough · 01/11/2022 16:22

I love lidls chicken and rice soup, it's a fresh one.

NewBootsAndRanty · 01/11/2022 16:24

Crosse and Blackwell cream of roast chicken.

Beneficialchampion2 · 01/11/2022 16:25

Tomato and basil from Lidl/Aldi or tomato and spiced lentil soup from Asda. Both are about 40p.

Plenty of cracked black pepper, some crusty bread with butter

Mmmmm

Tinned - Waitrose French Onion
Tub - Yorkshire Provender Tomato & Red Pepper

ilovesooty · 01/11/2022 16:25

Sainsburys chicken used to be my favourite but it's not the same as it used to be.

Campbells condensed cream of celery.

PrettyMuchBollocks · 01/11/2022 16:26

Tinned- M&S chunky vegetable and 3 bean soup. Bit spicy, very nice. But agree with hauntedvagina that tomato from Heinz is my go to if I’m feeling poorly. Has to be with white bread).
Fresh- cully and sully smoked haddock and salmon chowder, or Yorkshire provender broccoli and cheddar soup.

Ffsmakeitstop · 01/11/2022 16:26

I like Asda's own Oxtail, Tomato and Chicken. My DH likes most Asda own chunky soups and he's a massive Heinz fan but when he saw that Heinz big soup was nearly £2 a can he gave Asda own a try and liked it. Every penny helps.

Who else is now having soup today 😋

I had this for lunch with Plain thick sliced white bread.
It was delicious.

Heinze Oxtail soup with a small portion of mash potato

Has been my favourite meal forever, and is my goto meal if I'm feeling poorly

My favourite homemade soups are carrot & courgette or broccoli & potato

Arnaquer · 01/11/2022 16:30

Heinz tomato

Also like the veg pack that Asda do to make butternut squash and red onion at home

pumpkinscoop · 01/11/2022 16:30

Yorkshire Provender chicken is proper meal type soup. Lovely with crusty bread.

gogohmm · 01/11/2022 16:30

Sainsburys do a great keralan chicken fresh which makes a great proper meal with decent bread (their stone baked white is good) and salted butter.

For a quick eat cream of chicken is my go to - have Asda branded currently. I like it with mashed potato (I have frozen mash for ease)

Forestdweller11 · 01/11/2022 16:31

Another Heinz tomato here. Oxtail a close second

Ostryga · 01/11/2022 16:31

Tesco lentil and bacon. It’s so good I eat it constantly in winter.

gogohmm · 01/11/2022 16:31

@Noodlesmumm

So I'm not the only one to serve with mash! I thought it was just my family

This. ☝️

Heinz tomato for tinned
Yorkshire Provender Cauliflower and kale for fresh tub

Hillarious · 01/11/2022 16:32

Heinz tomato, obvs. But the Cup-a-Soup packet version of Heinz tomato soup is also surprisingly good. Bought some as emergency rations when we went to the Scottish Highlands.

Bluegingerbread · 01/11/2022 16:36

Fresh soups - Sainsbury Lentil Dhal. Love it.

ShinyMe · 01/11/2022 16:52

The only tinned soup I like is Heinz cream of tomato.
My favourite soup is the fresh plastic tub one from Yorkshire Provender, the roast chicken flavour. It's delicious.

ArcticSkewer · 01/11/2022 16:54

Grim.
I am definitely not craving shop/tinned soup

mellicauli · 01/11/2022 16:55

M&S Chicken and chunky veg is good

Parmesam · 01/11/2022 16:55

M&S lentil dhal or Baxter's minestrone.

I find cream of tomato too sweet. Fresh soups are normally crap.
