So it's not covid, tested negative as did DP.
But for a week now I have been wiped out. It started off as the typical flu. Body aches, shivvers, lathergy, cough ect ect. Now I'm extremely dizzy and faint and still have a fever. I've had both covid and flu before and they started to get better around day 3/4 not gradually worse!

Has anyone else caught this one and recovered recently? If so how long did it take? I'm so over feeling this way.

Been at work today. I am on the phone a lot and talking to people in person. My voice has actually gone tonight as in actually cannot speak. Have to whisper. Really hope it comes back after a sleep.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 04/11/2022 12:27

Hope the people who were struggling earlier have now turned a corner and are feeling better.

I first went down with it three weeks ago tomorrow (albeit I did have a positive COVID test). I started to feel better around two days ago.

This one's a lingerer. Whether or not people have tested positive, it does sound like a very similar condition.

Get well soon! Flowers

I could have written your post OP. We have had all these symptoms for nearly 3 weeks, still feel so tired, dizzy, wooly head and constant cough. Ringing ears.
All our covid test, 4 of them have been negative too. It is awful i sympathise

Clarich007 · 04/11/2022 12:36

Forgot to say we both had Covid in February and it was unpleasant, but we didn't feel this bad

Robekinobi · 18/11/2022 23:04

Know so many more people who have been struck down with a similar sounding not-covid virus including now DD (who had covid but was ill for a morning - this one took her out for a wéek.. In South west, interested to know if it's a nationwide thing?!

beenrumbled · 19/11/2022 07:43

I'm still not 100% after having this bug in the middle of October - my sense of smell and taste are either missing or totally changed - and I'm still coughing occasionally and tired - but I tested negative multiple times.

week 7 ,bit better spent 5 days last week with virtigo,my sinus was so bad it went to that,3rd lot antibiotics, think i should be 100% by xmas, never known anything like this

Mol1628 · 19/11/2022 19:59

Oh gosh I had vertigo too I was just laid still in bed with the room spinning. I thought it was separate to the illness to be honest as I do get migraines etc but now I think about it it was probably part of it.

Im still coughing but after about a month my energy is starting to come back thank goodness.

billybear · 20/11/2022 11:15

i live northwest area,so sounds like it nationwide, few neighbours similar but i seem to be the longer time span and worse but i have a low imunne system

Slippersue · 20/11/2022 14:42

Day 22 here and still blowing clear thick, sticky mucous from sinuses constantly. My ear is blocked / I can hear my heartbeat in it. I am coughing up yellow phlegm, really rattly, chesty cough. No fever the whole 22 days, no sore throat. Just full of thick mucous.

OneFootInTheGrave91 · 24/11/2022 23:59

Here to join the feeling like shit club.

i feel utterly miserable, absolutely awful.. started with a sore throat and that progressed to a heavy cold plus severe facial and jaw pain from my sinuses. Not to mention the horrific head ache, body aches and feeling sweaty and hot and then freezing cold. I can barely sleep which is so unusual for me!!

caught it from my youngest, now my partner is starting with it, my mum and dad are also starting with a sore throat and cough.

had COVID in January and this is certainly on a par with it. 2x negative tests in the last few days.

get well soon everyone, this is absolutely GRIM.

ILoveeCakes · 25/11/2022 00:03

Fit and healthy and feelin' fine!

Nottodaty · 25/11/2022 00:11

im on day 5 - spent two days high temperature in bed. The body aches something else - like my actual joints ceasing. Throwing up and taste buds gone slightly crazy.
Temperature more controlled now but left with sore throat and snuffles. Both my daughter and I had high heart rate - my Apple Watch was reading 127 while I was asleep!
Daughter is on day 7 but she is going back to school tomorrow- she does still have a cough but more standard cold symptoms now.
i just have no energy:(
