So it's not covid, tested negative as did DP.
But for a week now I have been wiped out. It started off as the typical flu. Body aches, shivvers, lathergy, cough ect ect. Now I'm extremely dizzy and faint and still have a fever. I've had both covid and flu before and they started to get better around day 3/4 not gradually worse!

Has anyone else caught this one and recovered recently? If so how long did it take? I'm so over feeling this way.

Has anybody else lost their voice with this? I do have the hacking cough and sinus problems but haven't had a sore throat. I have lost my voice once before in my life so its certainly strange. Family are pleased though 😂

Two and half weeks in and I'm tired of being ill. Really hoping the next couple of days see a drastic change as most of you are saying approximately three weeks

Mol1628 · 31/10/2022 11:47

Yes lost my voice with it. I’m really tired of being ill too and can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m vomiting too but not sure if that’s because of the coughing.

looks across at her bedside table -
Steroids
Antibiotics, multiple times a day
Inhaler, used multiple times
Inhaler, nightly
Vit D tablets
Vit B12 tablets
Foliate tablets
Vit C drink
Iron
Sudafed tablets
Cough medicine
Nasal spray

Right!!! Wonder which one though. Loratine, cetrizine, chlorophamine(?), Fenlofoxadin (?) or a GP prescribed one with different ingredients. I have them all Blush

Does anyone know any good food or drink to build myself back up after this? Really can only take a couple of days off work so need to be back on it! But I’m just shattered.

My DS has it and has done over half term. No voice and a barking cough although not coughed much.

Mostly seems lethargic and has napped on and off, which is never does xx

Pixiedust1234 · 31/10/2022 17:49

@justasking111 no idea. I'm at the kill or cure stage. Had almost an entire year of illness. At least I'm not taking the antidepressants I've been prescribed as well. That would be too much 😂

Strangely this report had positive feedback on anti depressants. It's such a puzzle

Has anybody had issues with their ears - mild earache, feeling of them being blocked despite using cotton buds? I have also been at differing altitudes while I was ill so it could be more that. I dunno.

Thanks I’ve ordered some

ClaudineClare · 01/11/2022 19:20

How are you all? Day 11 here and finally feeling a lot better. Still have horrible cough though.

Mol1628 · 01/11/2022 19:24

Got to go back to work tomorrow. I’m worried about the coughing fits. They make me so dizzy. I’m guessing the cough will last a long time though

To still be coughing at day 11 must be exhausting 🤗

chosenone · 01/11/2022 19:25

Day 22 and I think I may be improving. 2nd day of antibiotics and I’m using a nasal spray for the sinus pain. Cough and sore throat and ears gone, slightly more energy. I still sound coldy when I talk though. Night nurse helped me have 9 hours last night which may have helped.

dementedma · 01/11/2022 19:47

Slowly improving here,4 weeks in. Nasal spay helping to loosen the gunge, could taste the garlic in dinner tonight, coughing less. Still exhausted, lots of headaches.

ReformedWaywardTeen · 01/11/2022 20:03

It started to go here over the weekend for me again.
Tonight out the blue I feel like I'm literally dying, I can't breathe. I can't stop coughing, I feel like there is grit in my throat. I've coughed so hard for so such an intense period my forehead is agonising and feel like my eyes will pop out

I'm shaky too.

This is just ridiculous. DH is no help at all. I cannot stop it. I've tried even borrowing DS' blue inhaler. Nothing works. I've tried every cough linctus, nasal spray and even hayfever medication

I'm genuinely frightened at this point and I'm still getting negative tests.

GP won't see me as they consider a cough a pharmacy issue or a "might be Covid so biohazard" issue and wouldn't even let me have a phone call throughout the first week of it.

ClaudineClare · 01/11/2022 20:27

Maybe you should call 111 ReformedWaywardTeen? That sounds really bad.

YES! I had exactly this, ears blocked and achy, lots of pressure in my head/ears/sinuses. Couldn’t hear very well either which made me feel disoriented.

Day 18 now for me I think, tested negative throughout and finally seem to be getting somewhere after 6 days of antibiotics. Still not quite 100% though! Hoping everyone starts feeling better soon Flowers

velvetblanket · 01/11/2022 21:19

ive had a pressure type pain either side of my neck , across my collar bones and at bottom of breastbone, basically where lymph nodes pathways are though no swelling. Intermittent fever and nausea. I’ve been to gp who has arranged bloods and a chest X-ray but I’m thinking it may be this virus now since others have mentioned sore neck. Obviously will still keep the medical investigation appointments but this is slotting more into place reading this thread that could be a virus.
