to think that if curry with na'an is fine then so is curry on toast?

Although judging by the reactions I received at work, you would think not!

Got to work and colleague said "Sorry if I whiff of garlic, had pizza for lunch" and I said "oh I had curry on toast so I wont notice anyway!" and made a joke about us being left alone as we were both stinky.

The look on her face! She genuinely was appalled at the idea of curry on toast. So I asked if she has curry with na'an bread and she said that that was different.

I am not seeing the issue here. Apart from anything else, the crunchy toast is a nice contrast to the curry texture so is preferable imo, plus left over curry the next day always tastes better than when it is made fresh.

AIBU?!

😫how revolting. YABU.

AlisonDonut · 10/10/2022 16:53

I used to love curry on toast.

These days there is never enough curry left to have it for breakfast sadly.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 10/10/2022 16:54

It sounds revolting. I wouldn't want to eat it, but I couldn't care less what other people eat.

eldora · 10/10/2022 16:57

Curry on toast or with toast or with untoasted bread is food of the Gods, YANBU.

Does colleague realise toast and naan are both made with flour? Dumb twat,

Skinnermarink · 10/10/2022 16:58

Saag paneer on toast is nice.

Surely toast goes with anything, that’s the point of toast.

PyongyangKipperbang · 10/10/2022 17:00

I would genuinely like to know what sounds revolting about it?

Yanbu to have curry on toast. It's weird but toast is life so I can respect that.

Yabu to say toast is in any way similar to naan bread!

Burgerqueenbee · 10/10/2022 17:01

I would go there, in the same way I have been known to have poached egg on naan if there is no bread!

Skinnermarink · 10/10/2022 17:01

Also naan makes a good pizza base.

MajorieEks · 10/10/2022 17:01

Curries with toast is great! I prefer to use the toast to mop up the curries so I’m not sure about on but with is definitely delicious

ProfessionalTeaDrinker · 10/10/2022 17:02

I love a bit of leftover curry on toast, YANBU it's delicious!!

CheezePleeze · 10/10/2022 17:02

Yuk!

Toast and naan bread aren't even similar.

Mogloveseggs · 10/10/2022 17:02

Ooh I've never had it but will be trying! Chilli on toast is gorgeous!

hugefanofcheese · 10/10/2022 17:02

What's revolting about it? Genuinely interested why it sounds so bad! I love daal on toast. Anything on toast really...

BitOutOfPractice · 10/10/2022 17:03

I’ve never thought of it before but I think it sounds delicious. I might cut the toast into quarters for dipping / putting a dollop on

Toottooot · 10/10/2022 17:03

Gadz min.

gogohmm · 10/10/2022 17:03

I suppose, I eat it in toasted chapattis, not much difference

Amipreg1 · 10/10/2022 17:03

I've never had it but it sounds quite nice to be honest!

sellthesizzle · 10/10/2022 17:03

Curry on toast sounds strange but eating any curry or stew with a lovely buttery piece of toast is delicious!! So YANBU A

toastedcat · 10/10/2022 17:05

It literally doesn't sound revolting at all, I don't know why people are so dramatic 😂 unless you find toast and/or curry revolting, it shouldn't be in any way not nice 🤷‍♀️

Watercoloursky · 10/10/2022 17:05

I always have leftover curry on toast as my lunch for the day after a takeaway! Saag paneer on toast is the food of the gods. Prove me wrong! 😉

CallTheMobWife · 10/10/2022 17:06

CheezePleeze · 10/10/2022 17:02

Yuk!

Toast and naan bread aren't even similar.

They are both bread, so they are definitely similar.

FelicityBeedle · 10/10/2022 17:07

I’ll eat anything in on toast, I had a lovely bit of juicy lasagna left but it was a tiny portion so I chopped it up and had it on toast. No different to a naan you’re right

PyongyangKipperbang · 10/10/2022 17:17

Toast = Bread
Na'an = Bread

Not the same no, but not miles away. I just dont see why one type of bread is ok and another is "revolting"!

I occasionally used to have curry toasties.
