They are just so out of touch with people and come across as so patronising and smug. They pretend they understand about people's struggles whilst earning thousands in salary and promoting £100 advent calendars. Today they are doing a section on butter boards! Some people can't even afford the price of butter at the moment 😔

Stop watching it, it is a load of guff. It is full of idiots the main ones being PS and HW. If I had spare time during the day defo would not watching that shite!

It's not the programme it's the terrible presenters. Neither of them are professional journalists just a couple of ex childrens presenters and boy does it show. Alison Hammond and her ghastly booming voice and laugh urgh.

Why on earth they ever got rid of Ruth and Eamon I've no idea, they were perfect, both properly trained, serious when they needed to be with a dose of humour too. None of this pathetic giggling and stupid innuendos.

The week Ruth and Rylan presented was tv gold, I'm sure the ratings reflect this.

Not buying into the rumours about PS given there is an enormous smear campaign against him. My media-connected DH used to know most of the rumours around town and names behind gagging orders but has heard nothing.

As for Holly doing lines I’d be surprised if someone told me she didn’t.

I know! Bleurgh. One of the TIkTok ones they showed had a layer of parchment paper underneath the butter, which at least seemed sensible.

TM made an almighty wasteful mess smearing the butter directly on which looked rancid after sitting under the studio lights.

Op. YABU but I am very grateful to you for starting this thread I have enjoyed the butter board chat immensely.

I much prefer my butter in an old fashioned butter dish, unmessed with.

It's a magazine programme so they must do high end as well as the more topical stories.
I haven't watched it in decades, but I can't see a problem with mixing it up and not everyone watching it are on the bread line.
I can't bear any of the presenters though. Any clips I see of it winds me up let alone watching hours of it

Tv shows can be quite out of touch in regards to the budgets of those who watch.
I remember a budget fashion segment years ago- the cheapest item was £50 for a top- I could have got 3 outfits for that at least!

I'm not in touch with my gay friends who'd definitely know but after Phil's 'brave' comment I'd definitely be more on the side of the runner than Phil.

And to be honest, no one really gives a shit who's doing what drugs in media from my recollection of people in the know. If you do it great, if you don't do it, great too, the only issue with drugs is if get you on trouble, it gets in tabloids and then they find out you've done a load of class A drugs at the same time... even then depending on the star and their popularity you can just get away with it dying down.

I didn’t say it wasn’t true but perpetuating such rumours on public message boards - unless there very good grounds they are true - can be insanely damaging. I told you why I wasn’t ‘buying it’.

That’s a bit much. I’ve got a good, professional job with a good salary (City). I’m currently on maternity leave, baby is sleeping horribly and I want something light and fluffy while I’m nap trapped. Yeah butter boards is a bit much but I don’t have the energy or inclination for need doom and gloom or complicated plots at this exhausting, sofa-based point in my life, so sue me!

And Gino and his £100 truffle on top of ‘cheap pasta to feed the whole family’ the other day. It almost feels like since they queue-jumped and got slammed for it they want to annoy the public even more.
