To think This Morning are taking the piss....

They are just so out of touch with people and come across as so patronising and smug. They pretend they understand about people's struggles whilst earning thousands in salary and promoting £100 advent calendars. Today they are doing a section on butter boards! Some people can't even afford the price of butter at the moment 😔

Ok so just because we're in a cost of living crisis you don't think anyone should be able to discuss anything that isn't related to the cost of living crisis. Shall we just cancel Christmas altogether then?

Of course we are in the shit at the moment but watching TV is just a way for people to switch off and not think about how miserable the world is 24 hours a day. What about the football then? Should we cancel that too because the players get paid too much? And the F1? And the olympics?

Absolutely this.

The cost of living crisis is highly publicised but it’s a vocal minority. Most people aren’t feeling it to the extent they “can’t even buy butter”.

This Morning represents the middle classes, and why shouldn’t it?

Okay, some people and struggling and yes that’s awful. But that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to suffer too.

If we stopped watching things because the people on the TV earned more than us, what would we watch? I was watching Operation Ouch on CBBC this morning - I'm pretty sure those presenting doctors earn more than me and don't spend their days working in a struggling A&E department while talking about struggling A&E departments. Should I switch it off?

When I googled butter board one of the first results was a rude shaped ‘aperitif board’ (Amazon, £12.99). No thanks!

You will probably get a result for a thread all about (the craziness of!) them from a couple of days ago! It's a sharing board of butter than you and your guests scoop up with bread. Mmm, sharing.

I had to laugh at Alison Hammond saying she was charged 10K instead of 1K for car repairs and didn't even notice. Clang 🤣

I'm in the disabled bracket of viewers, I'd love a beauty advent calendar - I'd give it to my teen DD, she'd think I was ace 😁

I was thinking butter board was like the group in charge of all the butter like a more specific dairy board.

I thought this mornings gone up in the world if they are covering that sort of thing and the issues with dairy farming, cost of living etc.

I’ve not watched it for years, it was a staple for me. But Gino and the inane giggling just got on my tits.

I know. A block of butter costs what, £2? I know it costs more than it used to but I can think of plenty of far more expensive ways to feed people.

But up until I read this thread I had no idea what a butter board is, but agree that they look unappetising. Is it to try and disguise the fact that it's just bread, butter and a bit of garnish?

My SIL is all about the grazing board, has loads of books on it. She will be all over this.

So you scoop up butter, like a dip? That sounds a touch….gross. Wouldn’t it be all thick? I mean, I like butter as much as the next person but I don’t want a big claggy lump of it.

I was shocked at this too 😂 you’d think she’d think that story through before saying it on the actual show. Imagine what your bank account would have to be for it to drop by £10,000 and over a month later the company contact you and you didn’t even know 🙈
