AIBU to think Mumsnet should allow women ( & men ) who were right about lack of safeguarding in certain places back on this site? ( if they wish to return) ?

Yep

Absolutely,

Yes

Devon01 · 04/10/2022 23:12

Pretty new to MN. Could someone tell more about this situation please?

Doyoumind · 04/10/2022 23:13

They won't return even if asked though. MN killed off FWR. It's far from the place it used to be and it gets a fraction of the traffic it used to bring in.

catandcoffee · 04/10/2022 23:13

Yes but would they want to return ?

Slowgrowingelm · 04/10/2022 23:14

Yes

5zeds · 04/10/2022 23:17

They could just re-merge the boards and carry on.

EscapeRoomToTheSun · 04/10/2022 23:19

Not if it wants to remain a mainstream site. They have to make a choice.

Women who were vocal, & knew exactly what they were talking about when it came to safeguarding were unfairly ( imho) banned from Mumsnet. In light of very recent revelations those women have been proved correct.

Banned officially, as in kicked off the site? Safeguarding issues in what context? Things said on the site or things happening IRL, so to speak?

ThereIbledit · 04/10/2022 23:29

What recent development have I missed?

I second this question.

panicattheikea · 04/10/2022 23:32

perhaps you could explain what you’re talking about instead of talking in vague riddles

This is still pretty cryptic, could you just explain the 'recent revelations'?

Hapoydayz · 04/10/2022 23:36

Yanbu

Shelaydownunderthetable · 04/10/2022 23:36

pardon?

Bobbleballbags · 04/10/2022 23:37

Yanbu. They never should have been removed in the first place.

For people who are confused I imagine op is talking about the sudden removal of a mermaids trustee after it has been revealed he is supportive of paedophiles, including writing something extremely disgusting about shoes and children. If you want to know more you can find some news stories online and there's a lot on twitter. Along with other revelations that are not surprising in the slightest but thank goodness the truth is finally getting out and I hope a lot of people are ashamed of themselves.

JanesBond · 04/10/2022 23:38

Absolutely

WandaWomblesaurus · 04/10/2022 23:39

Yes. They were safeguarding our children.
Now look what we have instead of safeguarding...
