AIBU to think Mumsnet should allow women ( & men ) who were right about lack of safeguarding in certain places back on this site? ( if they wish to return) ?

For the avoidance of doubt, the interview I was referring to was with Stella O'Malley and an American women and is, I'm pretty sure, Gender A Wider Lens. And RB was very waffly, hence me wanting to be very clear that what I think I heard him say may not be accurate. I also struggle with Stella O'Malley, who from my pov asks either ver obvious or quite off-the-wall questions which make me wonder how on-the-ball she is. I don't feel at all confident that she and I would agree about much.

I haven't heard the Arty/ Glinner interview and have no wish to. I'm as 'really?' about Debbie Hayton as the rest of them, but I find all this background bickering and bitching a total turn-off. I'll be so glad when it's over and I can walk away from the drama queens.

I know it was mostly Exulansic. But if that's true, that KD had no opinion about the children with medical conditions Ex was referring to and many disagreed with, but was supported Ex fully, that's a issue.

Some of the things KD came out with in terms of children with additional needs and then also a child with a dsd (in order to support Ex?) to me were very odd given her profession. It was so long ago I cant remember exactly what it was. At the same time both have made excellent points on the issues of the ideology.

To me as soon as any of these people, including Genspect et al believe they're beyond reproach and cannot be criticised, there's an issue. Within safeguarding, its a culture issue.

I don't remember this happening, so can't comment. There was so much noise at the time! I agree though that nobody is beyond reproach, and nobody in the GC camp is a saint. I think everyone does their bit the way they believe is best, and like tectonic plates, they'll sometimes rub up against one another and cause a tremor. However, my line (and it's mine and might not be that of others) is that one cannot be simultaneously gender critical and supportive of the life goals of an AGP; and cheer them on while they centre themselves in the discussion as representing the interests of women.

WarriorN · 07/10/2022 19:01

Fully agree with all your points.

Yes, there was a lot of noise. It would take me too long to find the specific film and will now bug me.

So many of us here have gone over and over and over "am I being unreasonable?" on this.

We've delved into the rights and wrongs, the be kinds, do pronouns really hurt; all roads lead back to the same core answers.

Those in the ideology we are criticising do not rigorously reflect. Won't accept debate or criticism. That's why it's become a safeguarding mess. The culture allows broken boundaries.

It's healthy to challenge one another and self reflect; I change my mind frequently on various opinions around the whole thing.

I'm sorry, I don't like JK's writing/ prose, could never read HP, but fully agree here.

Oh so it’s all related? The plot has thickened.

I did only pop on here to see what the gossip was as dailymail have an article atm about a Surrey mum who’s married to a priest who was arrested during Sunday lunch for making malicious posts on kiwi farms and it all sounded so insane I had to see what was going on.

So are you saying it’s: pedo group - man - mermaids - man resigned - malicious reports to police - throw Kiki farms in for good measure - Surrey mum arrested and here we are?

Yep all related, a group of people all interested in perversely sexualising young children, group together shocker!

but yes let’s welcome them into schools etc because otherwise you’re a bigot!

Yes, that's it. I don't think Mermaids deliberately hired a paedophilia apologist. I don't think they intend to support paedophilia. But I do think they are so driven by ideology that they will sacrifice child safeguards to it, and see the inevitable results as something that could happen to any well-intentioned organisation. They simply refuse to see that by worshipping the ideology above all, they're a magnet and breeding ground for these people.

I mean, they have form.

OMG12 · 07/10/2022 20:37

Pink News. Claims Mermaids is “being targeted with a misinformation campaign” Breslow is now on Sabbatical until after Christmas Lse has launched an investigation

RhannionKPSS · 08/10/2022 01:27

Have any of you seen the tweet about the “ magazine “ JB was involved with? Absolutely disgusting.
I think Mermaids either didn’t care or didn’t check up on JB, either way is just sickening. Mermaids must drown in the sewer of their own making.

Just get men out of involvement in women's spaces and charities and just get men out of involvement in child charities. So many of them are abusive. See oxfam.

AutumnLeavesAreABugger · 08/10/2022 03:23

Yes, get all men out of work for charities for women and children. So many men seem to prioritise their dicks.
And if any men feel personally insulted by this
Then get sorting your abusive men, and don't be violent or sexually aggressive to women and children.
