To wash pyjamas after each wear?
Chloefairydust · 28/09/2022 04:36
I wash my pyjamas after every wear, however this leads to LOADS of laundry every week… I’m wondering if I can cut down by wearing my pjs longer? They don’t smell but I’m not sure if this would be gross through, like I don’t wear knickers under them … So is it the same territory as rewearing dirty pants??🤔
How often do you wash your pyjamas? Like what is the normal pyjama etiquette? Would I be a complete tramp to put back on my dirty pjs?
Am I being unreasonable?

Mumsnet = I only wear anything once before washing, change sheets weekly and wash my towels daily! Everything else is disgusting
Also mumsnet = my bills are skyrocketing, the environment is going to pot and I have too much washing and never get a break.
OP I wear my pyjamas for a week unless they get dirty and need it before then or there's a change in temperature so want different ones.
It's very alien to me the whole concept of washing everything so often!

I never understand why people don’t wear knickers to bed due to ‘airing’. How much air are your bits going to get trapped under a thick duvet?
A pair of cotton knickers isn’t going to make the slight bit of difference to ‘airing’
For me, it’s more that it allows my bits to just relax a bit more; have a bit more space 😆 Wearing pants feels a bit constricting. I never feel fully and completely comfortable until I’m underwear free. You know that thing about women taking their bra off as soon as they get home? Well, I can’t wait to take my bra AND pants off when I get in.

I wash mine once a week. I do wear knickers in bed though.
I think cutting down on your washing is a good way to tackle the rise in energy prices (not to mention better for the environment and a time saver for you!).
Never ceases to amaze me how wasteful people are on here.
If that's the case then they have no right to complain about how high their energy bill get.

I wear pants in bed (the same ones I've had on all day), and a T-shirt, but don't wear pyjama bottoms. If it's really freezing I might wear pj bottoms, but then I don't wear pants. . Shower every morning and clean pants and socks.
If I've had pjs on they'll do me several days, basically until they smell.
The amount of washing some people on here must do is mind boggling

Knickers to bed? My mum always told me you needed to air your bits, so that's what I do. No washing involved here 😅
I've never understood that. How are they getting aired when you're lying possibly on your stomach under a duvet??

I wear knickers and then pjs .. I can’t imagine not wearing knickers and then wearing the same pjs!

I save on the washing by wearing absolutely nothing in bed. Can't understand the idea of wearing all these layers under a duvet. Like going to bed in a coat. And I have the window wide open too - all year round.
I'm the same!

I wear underwear with mine so only wash them once or twice a week. if I wasn’t wearing underwear I probably would wash the bottoms every day or two. No need to change the tops that often though; buy mix & match sets so that you can wear the same tops with different bottoms.

Same here too. In fact, I didn't realise so many people slept in pyjamas until I read about it on here. Aren't you all boiling?

There's probably people here who will say you need to wash your sheet every day😂

You mean you reuse your mattress? That's discusting.
I get a new one delivered every morning and burn the old one. It's the only way.

I wear mine twice and then wash. But they’re baggy so not right up my bum! I couldn’t stand to wear knickers in bed. Goes right up with people who wear bras in bed 😳 god no. I know we’re all different but I can’t think of anything worse. (And yes I have huge boobs (GG cup) before someone comes along and says I’d understand if I had large boobs…)!
