AIBU?
Bloody hell, we are being governed by an idiot
GreenLunchBox · 27/09/2022 21:01
Well, I knew that already, but every day she shocks me with the heights her deluded self-confidence goes to
Liz Truss had to be convinced to issue statement amid market turmoil after mini-budget

Am I being unreasonable?

They say some MPs are already sending in letters of no confidence.
Softplayhooray · 27/09/2022 21:08
I feel like Liz Truss has such non existent economic knowledge that appearing as the person who is trying to calm the markets would make everything worse!!
User98866 · 27/09/2022 21:10
So they have given themselves a month to come up with some vast spending cuts. Can you imagine if Labour put forward a completely un costed economic plan? This party is beyond a joke. If I were a backbencher I’d be walking.
LadyWithLapdog · 27/09/2022 21:11
She’s clueless. The Tory government are irresponsible with the economy and everything else they touch with their grubby hands.
Explaintome · 27/09/2022 21:13
I've always wondered, it's the chancellor's budget, how much input does the PM get?
I'm not disputing this is a disaster and she's ultimately in charge, but will this be her plan or is her mistake that she gave it to the wrong man?
LizzieSiddal · 27/09/2022 21:14
Just another fuck up by the Tory’s.
Brexit, Johnson and now Truss.
Can we ban them?

Did you miss the last 7 weeks of the leadership campaign? She telegraphed that this was her plan and Sunak said it would tank sterling and lead to sky high interest rates!
UserNameNameNameUser · 27/09/2022 21:15
I did wonder if their “drastic spending cut” will be privatise the NHS.
It’s on a par with “bring back bankers bonuses” and “cut taxes for the rich” in terms of Tory wet dreams.
Mischance · 27/09/2022 21:15
Head in hands - utter despair. How long will this go on ..........

Yes, that what I mean though, I wasn't specifically talking of this plan. Generally Is it the chancellors autonomous decision or do they do what the PM required?
I don't think anyone was expecting exactly this, if they were the markets would have already reacted and we wouldn't have seen what's happened over the last couple of days.

At this point who would be shocked if they announced that? 🤔

Thank fuck we didn’t have Labour it would have been so much worse.
(Just getting that in early )

calling her an idiot is really not nice, very insensitive to idiots
LadyWithLapdog · 27/09/2022 21:20
Oh, can you imagine? Chaos with Milliband or strong and stable with Cameron/May/Johnson/Truss. What an utter fucking lunacy of a Tory party.
1dayatatime · 27/09/2022 21:20
Now the IMF is urging Truss and Kwarteng to u turn on the tax cuts as well as stating the obvious that they will increase inequality ( obvious to everyone except Truss and Kwarteng that is)

I don't actually know. I always got the impression the PM had ultimate say
They had leaked most of their plans but the 45% rate being abolished was a shock and I like to think the world woke up to the fact that these guys are looting the country in front of our eyes. There was literally no need for that while people are starving and they didn't mention that demographic at all! I get the impression it finally made people admit they're behaving like corrupt leaders of a developing country

Personally, I was a big fan of chaos with Ed Miliband.

Plenty of time to get another leadership election in before calling a general election. At least 2 I would say.
