Campervan parked in front of my garage

I own a garage that's on the next side street to where I live. We don't put our cars in it because it's used to store things. My husband's things mostly. Our aim is to clear it out so we can put one of our cars in it. My husband sometimes puts his car in front of the garage. Anyway there is an absolutely enormous campervan parked in front of our garage. Its parked so close up to the garage doors that we couldn't go in the garage at all. And obviously prevents us from parking in front of it. They tried to park there on Monday but my husband stopped them. No idea who they are but my husband works nights so not here.

...and?

Nomoreminecraftplease · 14/09/2022 20:18

Sorry posted too soon. I hate it there. I want it moved rather than blocking my garage

So it's on your driveway on front of the garage? Obligatory diagram would be excellent to describe in detail

WhatNoReally · 14/09/2022 20:21

Who owns the land it's parked on?

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 14/09/2022 20:23

Leave a note on it. Remove by x or it will be towed.

Nomoreminecraftplease · 14/09/2022 20:23

Kind of. Its on a different street to where I live. So not its not in front of my house. The side streets where my back garden is.

I do

Put up a notice on the garage saying 'Private garage in use, please do not park on the drive or you will be towed.'

MermaidEyes · 14/09/2022 20:26

If you own the land I believe that's classed as trespassing.

Nomoreminecraftplease · 14/09/2022 20:27

My husband told her to move it on Monday. He doesn't know she is. She argued with him but did move it. Now its back again!

Get a sign up followed by a penguin bollard.

StridTheKiller · 14/09/2022 20:29

Torch it.

Not exactly a driveway as its separate from and not in anyway attached to our house. Its on the next street

Is leave a stern note saying you've 24 hours to move this starting at .... after this time I'll assume it's been abandoned and have it towed and crushed

“Towed and crushed.”

🤣

HeddaGarbled · 14/09/2022 20:32

or you will be towed

But they won’t so that’s pointlessly antagonistic.

Start polite: please could we ask you not to park in front of our garage as we need access - thank you.

Willbe2under2 · 14/09/2022 20:32

So it's parked on the road? Is there a dropped kerb?

MermaidEyes · 14/09/2022 20:32

What @custcustardbear said. I don't know the exact law but you can have it towed under some kind of trespassing law. If you have your own vehicle parked inside the garage the police will come out because its obstructing your exit, but they may not if your garage is empty.

Her DH has already told her!

MermaidEyes · 14/09/2022 20:35

There really are some cheeky fuckers around though. Probably too bastard tight to pay to store it.

jc12689 · 14/09/2022 20:36

Smash the window, release the handbrake and push it onto the public road. It them become the police's problem.

Not on the road. Yes a driveway but not attached to my house on the next street

If you contact the council and tell them it's obstructing your garage will they be able to get it removed or send out a ticket warden?

Cameleongirl · 14/09/2022 20:37

Could you ring the police and say that you can’t park your car in the garage due to the van?

Ladyofthelake53 · 14/09/2022 20:38

Can't belive the bare faced cheek of some people I'm.alright Jack sod you attitude
