So. You're Putin. You rule a massive amount of people. You're ex KGB. You want to take over the world perhaps (or maybe just want to play!).
What is your next move now that the West is in crisis as you won't supply them with oil/gas?
Your people are dying but you've loads of people. You've invaded a non NATO country so you know they won't touch you.

It's lunacy to believe that those ships off the coast of Ireland are just on their way somewhere? It's grandstanding at best but more likely to be reconnaise, provocation and perhaps spying.

Chowbellow, do you feel able to say which country you're in/from when talking about "here" and "we"?

You said earlier that you're not from the UK, and it is making your posts quite confusing. Eg you talked earlier about "us" killing Russians, however the UK is not killing Russians.

Similarly, there's plenty of coverage in the UK mainstream media of eg Maganov's "fall from a window", and none I've seen suggests any acceptance of the official Russian line.

Any link to the mainstream coverage of anything other than 'he fell out the window'?

An hour to get to London from Russia, gives time for London to launch something to strike the missile down? (I don't know enough about missiles). A missile launched from the Irish sea towards London would not leave enough time to intercept the missile. I think we're being very very silly by ignoring the obvious. What I've learned over the past 10 years or so watching Russia is that he is about to do exactly what it looks like. Every time, that has proven to be correct. Crimea, Donbas, Ukraine. Nothing is accidental with him but he relies on us not believing that anyone could be so brazen!

OP posts:
Chowbellow · 04/09/2022 21:33

By spying I mean, looking for subs and calculating response times. I genuinely do believe London is a target. Everything Putin has done so far was blatantly obvious, though unbelievable. We simply couldn't believe that anyone could be that bold, brazen or insane. We've underestimated him time and time again.
I don't know what military capacity we have. I don't know whether you can interject a missile? I simply don't have that level of knowledge about weapons.

Or did you just mean it's not on your personal Facebook feed?

Btw, if you've a personal gripe, not relevant to this discussion, perhaps send me a private message.

@whumpthereitis Btw I love your username and I shamefully admit that that song was one of my favourites except I thought the words were 'whoop that ass' 😂

I love this video of someone recording a cat and it's clear what the cat is about to do and then she appears surprised when the cat does it.

Putin's like that. Everything he does is blatant (apart from people jumping off balconies). Yet, every time, we appear surprised!

I'm pretty sure that the UK has excellent radar etc. but jesus. Putin is going to target London! For fuck's sake! We know that!

No OP, you know it. Nobody else on this thread agrees with you, as far as I can see. Maybe time to go to bed? Put down the internet for a day or two?

Tierne · 04/09/2022 22:55

He knows full well that Ireland hasn't any military defence capabilities

Ireland might want to look at sorting that out at some point

I believe NATO and the EU are screaming at them to do so but they're stubborn.

I have observed Putin for years. Everything that he does is blatant (apart from a few suicides which can't possibly be linked ). EVERYTHING. Yet it's like we find it utterly impossible to believe that he is going to do what it looks like he will do. We can't fathom that what he could potentially do and what he has the capability of doing is precisely what he WILL DO. It's like we're taken by surprise every fucking time.

It's no skin off my nose (though I'm viewing my balcony carefully lol).

You need to hire out your services to NATO then. That is where they are going wrong.

You can't suddenly arm a nation which is vehemently opposed to the cost of it, vehemently opposed to war and vehemently opposed to armies. As far as Ireland is concerned, nobody is going to invade them (apart from Britain in the past) and they have no desire to protect the EU states and I suspect they're not terribly fond of the UK. Ireland is peripheral geographically so believes itself to be of no interest to anyone. Ireland however is a gaping hole in strategic defence for the UK and the EU (thus NATO countries).

It's a strange one and it's a gaping hole in the UK's defence.

OP posts:
Chowbellow · 04/09/2022 23:26

Twice in 6 months, Russian warships have been sailing around Ireland, taking in the view. If you can't see that that has a purpose, then you're stupid.

I've watched Putin for years building up troops in Crimea and sending them there on the border in black uniforms with no flags to identify who they were and then bare-faced lying and saying that they were not Russian. It was hilarious to watch (as I was not in Crimea). It's like, fuck, how can you argue with an utter lie?
He does it time after time after time.

OP posts:
Chowbellow · 04/09/2022 23:36

If it looks like he is going to do something, in my experience, that's what he will do.

Find me an example where he hasn't.
