Women blocked on DH What's App

Feel sick to my stomach writing this. Currently on holiday with DH and 3DC. DH went to the shop and left his phone on the table. I never go near his phone but I checked it.

No messages on what's app or text messages that were suspicious. Nothing on his email in the inbox sent or archived.

On his Whats App contacts there were three female contacts I don't know. One was a picture of a girl and her name the other two were saved under initials and they were in lingerie but couldn't see their faces with suggestive emoji after their name. He had them all blocked and no conversations.

I don't know what to do. I've never ever doubted him. He works really hard for our family. He's loving affectionate and attentive towards me.

Doesn't look good does it. You must have already be suspicious to have checked his phone?

So are you saying that he has blocked them, rather than the other way around?

I don't use WhatsApp much but if my DP saw a list of people I'd blocked on Instagram it would also include a lot of women in lingerie and also handsome men who are apparently looking for a wife. I get messages from fake accounts and spammers all the time. On WhatsApp I get fake messages calling me 'Mum' (I have no kids). Obviously I block them because they're dodgy accounts. So if these are accounts your DH has blocked I would imagine he just got a random spam message from them and blocked them for that reason.

I would say the fact that they are blocked is a good thing. I've had random weird messages before. So has my DP. Blocking means they can't keep sending anything.

I know some guys who have had weird messages from sextortion scam artists posing as ladies, I would say he has received an obvious scam message and has blocked it and never thought of it again

'affair' chronicled in the archived folder of
WhatsApp. I say 'affair' as it was all hideous
sexual practices they indulged in that I wouldn't
engage in with filmed videos etc... Not for a
moment suggesting this is the same, but with the
benefit of hindsight I would be feeling very
uncomfortable if I were you. I am very sorry you
have found this. I discovered this about my OH in
January and my whole life is still upside down ☹️

Sounds like spam accounts tbh. I absolutely wouldn't be concerned.

I don't think this in itself is suspicious. I've got a handful of blocked contacts on whatsapp. A couple of them sent me weird scammy messages in response to listings I'd posted on gumtree. Another just sent me a weird message out of the blue, no idea how they got my tel no. All still listed in my blocked contacts.

The fact he has blocked them suggests they were spam messages.
Why were you even searching through his phone if you've never suspected him of anything, and he is loving etc?

He has them blocked and no archived conversations or any conversation. As I said two were saved under initials and one was a name. They look like sex worker pictures.

I just looked because I've been unwell for a little while and feeling quite low so I think I was looking to find something as I can't imagine how he sticks me sometimes.

Why did you check his phone?

This. Anyone tech savvy is aware that there are accounts like this that try to scam people. I also block and delete them.

Message the number yourself. It will be obvious by the reply if it’s a scam.

If your marriage is good, can you just ask him about them?

I don't think my husband would mind me asking. I think he'd seek to reassure me if I'd been feeling insecure. But then he's always been really open with his phone/ computer etc.

I get them often from scam accounts - I always end up blocking them! They come into WhatsApp with lingerie photos and profile pics, my blocked list would look similar to your husbands! If there's zero archived conversations/message history it was probably a block and delete of spam.

It's sounds like scam accounts. My dad had these happen to him, the number doesn't necessarily save as that name or emoji so much as just pops up with it already there in place of a number, your husband didn't save them as that. Always a half naked woman in the picture, I just showed him how to block them as soon as they came up which is what your husband likely did otherwise there would be a thread. Don't worry about it.

If they are scam accounts why are the numbers even saved with a suggestive emoji??? Makes no sense.

I'm sorry this has happened to you, but it's clearly something entirely different from what the OP has discovered. What the OP is describing very, very clearly suggests that her DH got messages from pornbots and immediately blocked them because it was spam.

OP, you have nothing to worry about, honestly.

I've got loads of random numbers blocked as I got fed up of getting so many spam calls, WhatsApps, iMessages, texts etc. - I'm certainly not having an affair and I'd be really angry if I found out DH had been snooping through my phone and assuming shit like this.

This! Both myself and my DH have had weird messages on WhatsApp from “lonely and looking for love” types. Their profile pictures are always underwear shots and suggestive. We both just block. I really wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that he’s been messaging these women.

The numbers don't have to be saved to appear that way in WhatsApp - they can appear with names / emojis / etc without being saved

@Footbal - hope you're feeling a bit better about it, if you are getting those feelings in your gut then obviously keep an eye on him, but this is such a common scam that goes round x

Another vote for random spam accounts, my profile photo is me and DH and this has been enough to attract at least three scantily clad flirty women into my messages! If there’s nothing archived or no chat I wouldn’t think anything of it ❤️

My oh has a few like this blocked on what’s app, girls standing in under wear and clearly from abroad, although he told me about these. The thing I don’t get tho is why have them saved in contacts as initials?
