Women blocked on DH What's App

Feel sick to my stomach writing this. Currently on holiday with DH and 3DC. DH went to the shop and left his phone on the table. I never go near his phone but I checked it.

No messages on what's app or text messages that were suspicious. Nothing on his email in the inbox sent or archived.

On his Whats App contacts there were three female contacts I don't know. One was a picture of a girl and her name the other two were saved under initials and they were in lingerie but couldn't see their faces with suggestive emoji after their name. He had them all blocked and no conversations.

I don't know what to do. I've never ever doubted him. He works really hard for our family. He's loving affectionate and attentive towards me.

I've got several numbers blocked on WhatsApp. If I think they are scammers or I don't know know them I block them.i don't see.this as a problem. Unless I am missing something.

You wouldn’t save the numbers of scam accounts under initials.

Sounds like sex workers he’s spoke to and blocked them so they can’t chat when you are around.

If you have a public WhatsApp account, the name comes up automatically when they message you and when you add them to your contacts to block them.

I don't know if this helps but if your partner uses LinkedIn or anything that has his number linked you can often get Phishing texts etc from shitty porn/scam things. I have blocked many on WhatsApp that were routed through LinkedIn before I realised my number was displayed.

I have had messages from men with slightly implausible “hot guy” profile pictures - I just looked at my blocked list now & one is on a yacht - striking up a conversation which is clearly headed towards scamming me in some way. I presume my husband has a similar list of blocked scammers seductresses.

Based only on what you have just said, that’s normal. It’s just spam.

Look in his gmail spam folder & you’ll find a million more in between the McAfee, “Greetings from God, I am Mrs Smith please send me money to unlock your million pounds here in Nigeria” & penis enlargement emails.

It’s so clear that these are just blocked scam numbers but so many posters here are desperate for it not to be and want to wind up the OP.

I've never in my long life had a random scam text from WhatsApp. He is lieing. Also he would have had to have saved their number at 1 point or it would just say the mobile number.

OP - glad you've spoken to him, like a lot of us (who know how WhatsApp works and how to spot a scammer) he's just getting some scammer messages. I often get them saying they're looking for an older man, which I am not 😂 hope you're feeling a bit better about things!

accounts, I’d assume its that, and the fact that the wattsapp profile photo is a woman in lingerie does sound like spam.

I came onto say this is typical of liaising with sex workers. That's why there's no chat history (deleted) but he hasn't just blocked AND deleted. He wants to be able to unblock again to make his next booking.

I have never once liaised with a male sex worker and yet I get messages/friends requests from dodgy look blokes. I block them immediately. I would be horrified if my OH thought I was in contact with them or others. I block them so they don't message me again.

And yet there are dozens of people on this thread who HAVE received these messages.

I don’t have WhatsApp but Dh does. I would have assumed spam but completely get that if you are already struggling this would have you thinking the worst. Our brains can be cruel.

Just asked DH, he said they are spam and he blocks them straight away. He offered to unblock them, message them and ring them to show they are spam. He reassured me that I'm the only one for him and he loves me and our family more than anything. He wasn't angry I checked his phone as he understands what I've being going through the last while.

^ Come off it. Go onto Google and search Mumsnet my husband has been having an affair. Almost all historical posts will show you MEN LIE extremely well when asked about potential red flags. It is extremely rare to be told...yes I'm having my cake and eating it.

The no conversation history is from blocking before any chats were saved. As that's what happens when an unknown number or person contacts you on WhatsApp you can accept or block after seeing the first message
