To think waking up having an orgasm is uncommon (women)

YABU - it happens to me
YANBU - never experienced it

Just that really. The male equivalent is so well known and talked about (I think it was even covered in either biology or PSHE at school!). I never realised the same could happen to women so was pleasantly surprised the first time it happened to me. It's not a common thing for me, averaging about once every 2 years since I was in my early 20s. Often when I have a full bladder, usually accompanied by an appropriate dream but not always.

Nope , never had that !

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 13/08/2022 01:19

Yep, it happens to me too sometimes but in a disassociated way which is unsettling.

mackthepony · 13/08/2022 01:24

Yeah I've had this.

It's a bit unpleasant really

TheLion · 13/08/2022 01:28

That's interesting that those that have experienced it find it unpleasant. I've always found it quite a nice way to wake up.

Happens to me sometimes, also with accompanying dream and usually when i have a full bladder, and the longer its been since a deliberate one, the more frequently it happens. Sometimes wake up just on the cusp, fall back to sleep, then it happens again. Find it quite fascinating that its possible with zero physical stimulation and purely mental, affirms sexual arousal and pleasure goes far beyond just touch.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 13/08/2022 02:01

It's also the only type that doesn't give me an almost guaranteed UTI.

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/08/2022 02:11

It has happened to me 2/3 times. Not something I’m dying to have happen again but equally not unpleasant for me.

Bigwetdog · 13/08/2022 02:19

Only when pregnant or in fertility treatment. Must be the hormones. Never enjoyable

abovedecknotbelow · 13/08/2022 02:22

Happens to me once a month, usually when I'm due to ovulate so I guess it's my body clinging at straws. It's fab.

Inthetropics · 13/08/2022 02:24

Happens to me frequently and I enjoy it a lot.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 13/08/2022 02:27

Happened a couple of times and very nice too.

MarshaMelrose · 13/08/2022 02:56

Doesn't happen often but I like it.

I remember seeing a documentary and in it they talked about research they were doing where they gave women erotic magazines to see how many could climax without touch. Not that uncommon as it turned out....or did I just dream that!

theclangersarecoming · 13/08/2022 03:15

It’s happened to me, but only very infrequently and not for years now. I didn’t mind it at all! 😂

WiddlinDiddlin · 13/08/2022 03:40

Mm, a few times and increasingly more often as I think I am peri-menopause (and possibly past that!).

I quite like it :D

WinterMusings · 13/08/2022 03:45

I'd forgotten about it until now, but I used t enjoy it. Yet another thing menopause seems to have stolen!

rubyknot · 13/08/2022 04:05

This happened to me once when I was very pregnant - after I got over the shock/surprise I decided I wouldn't mind if it happened again😂....I've been waiting 8 years now.

HoppingPavlova · 13/08/2022 04:05

Happened to me twice when quite pregnant with my first. Never again.

Turnthatoff · 13/08/2022 04:10

Often. Sometimes more than once a night. ,The first time I was 15 and it happened during an afternoon nap. I’m now in my 50s and menopause hasn’t seemed to have been an issue. I remember telling a friend once, she had them also.

PrestonHood121 · 13/08/2022 04:30

A few times, around ovulation or my period. Always put it down hormones lol

09Mediocre82 · 13/08/2022 04:49

I've had this on many occasions since a high school crush 😅 still to this day but now it usually involves my building manager 🥴 I don't actually find him that attractive consciously; he must do something for me subconsciously though ☺️

miltonj · 13/08/2022 05:10

Happens to me frequently and I don't really like it!

lugeforlife · 13/08/2022 05:20

It was my first pregnancy symptom! I have only had it once when not pregnant but had it at least once a week when I was.

I didn't have any increase in sex drive (quite the opposite) when I was expecting so maybe it got displaced. I didn't like it much tbh - felt incomplete and a tiny bit disappointing.

This thread’s likely to go straight to the Daily Mail and/or other tabloids by about midday, just saying.

RenegadeMatron · 13/08/2022 05:21

It’s happened to me occasionally, first times when I was pregnant.

I don’t mind it!

garlictwist · 13/08/2022 05:25

I've had it but usually if I'm dreaming about it.
