To think waking up having an orgasm is uncommon (women)

YABU - it happens to me
YANBU - never experienced it

Just that really. The male equivalent is so well known and talked about (I think it was even covered in either biology or PSHE at school!). I never realised the same could happen to women so was pleasantly surprised the first time it happened to me. It's not a common thing for me, averaging about once every 2 years since I was in my early 20s. Often when I have a full bladder, usually accompanied by an appropriate dream but not always.

Happens to me semi infrequently, every couple of years or so. Unless pregnant then it’s more or less nightly, and exhausting. I had one night this pregnancy when it was non-stop: sounds nice in theory but actually having no sleep and being interrupted every time I dozed off, and having no control over it, was awful. I was spectacularly sick the next day from exhaustion.

Cadot · 13/08/2022 05:55

Happens to me from time to time. I like it.

Yorkshiredolls · 13/08/2022 06:12

A handful of times, started when I was pregnant with first and happened again when pregnant with second and once or twice since. They are most unsatisfying though. Glad others have pointed out happened when pregnant as I thought I was alone in that!

SeraphinaAngelina · 13/08/2022 06:26

Happens to me almost every time I have (specifically) an afternoon nap. Almost always accompanied by a dream about masturbating. I’m glad other people get it, I thought I was a lone weirdo with this.

StClare101 · 13/08/2022 06:26

It’s happened to me once when I woke up in the middle of a very erotic dream! At the time it felt pretty weird to be honest.

youlightupmyday · 13/08/2022 06:30

Never. just to adjust bias on this thread

Magicandspiders · 13/08/2022 06:31

Never had this! Very curious now though.

3amAndImStillAwake · 13/08/2022 06:34

Yes, it happened to me a few times in pregnancy. I wouldn't call it unpleasant, but equally it wasn't that enjoyable.

StarlightLady · 13/08/2022 06:40

I’m jealous! Sadly it has never happened to me.

W00p · 13/08/2022 06:41

It used to happen to me all the time in my 20s. Now I'm in my 30s and have young children I've lost that particular super power, but hoping it will return in my 40s when the kids are older and don't need me at night so much😅

Viggooooh · 13/08/2022 06:46

Happens to me quite a lot as well and it's very nice!

Eileen101 · 13/08/2022 06:53

Happened once to me and I was very surprised. For some reason it was with a dream about one of the senior partners in our firm, who I've never had any kind of attraction for 🤷🏼‍♀️

JingsMahBucket · 13/08/2022 07:02

For the people who find it unpleasant, may I ask why?

Libmama · 13/08/2022 07:02

It’s only ever happened to me (3/4 times) when I’ve been pregnant.

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2022 07:10

Never. Are they noisy ones? Could be fun when having a nap on the train. Yikes.

Squiff70 · 13/08/2022 07:11

I get them too, but very rarely - maybe 15 or 20 times in my adult life. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and had three during pregnancy, but I assume due to the lack of intimacy during pregnancy (my own choice - just haven't felt like it!). I think it's purely mechanical rather than happens through 'desire' - it seems to me to be the body's way of releasing in some way. Sometimes I'm having a sexy sort of dream, other times I don't think I am. Never been bothered by it, it rouses me slightly for a few seconds then back off to sleep 😊

MargotMoon · 13/08/2022 07:15

Happened to me once and I thought it was brilliant. Would love to start every morning with an orgasm!

I'm fascinated that some people didn't like it.

GremlinDolphin4 · 13/08/2022 07:25

Happens to me too!

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 07:28

I've had this when busting for a wee

I've always put it down to my bladder being so full and 'rubbing' on things or the act of holding it in pressures the good spots!

Had it whilst awake too when holding in a wee

Namechangesurprise · 13/08/2022 07:31

NC for this!

Yes, it's happened to me. For the first time when I was around late 20s. I was a virgin and never masturbated so I assume I was just a bit desperate for it! It was a very pleasant surprise.

It happened frequently until I started having sex, and now it's much less common but still happens. There's usually no man in the dream, but I once spent the night away from DH and dreamed he was touching me and I came in real life. I told him and he was chuffed that he could make me come when he was the other side of the country!

No they're not!

olympicsrock · 13/08/2022 07:35

Never had it happen and didn’t know others did!

ReneBumsWombats · 13/08/2022 07:37

Happens from time to time, the result of dreams. The intensity of them is incredible.

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2022 07:38

Namechangesurprise · 13/08/2022 07:32

No they're not!

That's good then. Grin No shouting and screaming. So presumably if in bed with a partner when this happens they would be unaware also?

KangarooKenny · 13/08/2022 07:43

It’s happened a couple of times since I’ve hit peri, but I’m not having sex now, so I wonder if that’s why 🤔 it’s always with a nice dream.
